  • stupid song

real metal was blue cheer and black sabbath and zeppelin this thing is shitty biker american fuckheads

    hail DIO

  • @larawora I agree this is not metal but it's still the best song ever so screw you

  • @larawora You don't know rock music history, do you? Kay was credited as one of the earlier pioneer of heavy metal music as he began early in '65 all the that you mentioned were credited as being pioneer of heavy metal as well, but Steppenwolf began opening the doors for this kind of music in '69. Zeppelin became more famous in the 70s not the 60s, as well as Blue Cheer and Black Sabbath. Steppenwolf defined early heavy metal music combined with hard rock. You must be high on drugs.

  • @larawora i agree, HAIL DIO, but steppenwolf is a blues rock band not metal and they are pretty damn good at it

  • @larawora also these guys are canadian

  • @larawora just gtfo sir.

  • 48 gay men passed through here!

    48 pessoas passaram por aqui!

  • Still singin' still playin' ............ John's voice hasn't lost anything in the last 40 years - if anything, he sings with more authority.............. sure - there's a lot of other singers and bands who will always be considered the cream of the 60s, but most can't pour it on in the 21st century like John is still doing apparently. Thank you JK & the Wolf - you knew it all the time - it was and is always about music, isn't it?

  • @jcmosquito

you got that right buddy. There's nobody like JK and Steppenwolf :-D

  • Does anyone know which is this version: /watch?v=EYG1DsAkS_Y

    ????

  • John Kaye is a great success story in pop music...

  • Timeless

  • i watch this and i have faith in music again. 40 years and these guys are still badass

  • John Kay looks badass, even 40 years after the premiere of the song.

  • Oooh man, I didn't know that, but as it seems my grandfather is singing! lol

  • I think this is the first time I've seen John Kay perform without glasses! As i commented on the Magic Carpet Ride Video, this 67 year old falls somewhere in the badass category.

  • isso q é musica filhoes

  • dear youtube.... this video has a dislike button.... please fix the problem..

  • Still one of the best songs ever

  • Tony Soprano at 5.08

  • 2 131 people was born to be wild including me :P

  • i if didnt knew who kay was, i could have sworn hes my grandfather. teiy looks almost the same

  • Amazing how so many groups used the organ in rock music in the 60's , really like the sound.

  • the years do not go in vain!!!!

  • he looks good for what 60 ish

  • 47 people like Hinder's version of this music...

  • They are still freakin' awesome !!!!!!!!!!!

  • canta pra caramba... minha nossa.. desossa.

  • Actually, he usually wears shades because his eyes are extra sensitive to light, and he's close, if not there yet, to being legally blind.

  • According to info I found, John Kay suffers from increased sensitivity to light, so he wore his sunglasses. He also apparently has congenital achromatopsia, complete colorblindness, a defect of the eyes which causes legal blindness. In view of this it's great that he now shows his full face and doesn't hide behind shades. Carry on John !- after years of thinking his voice was so SEXY I was so pleased to find these later videos and to find he now looks as sexy as his voice!!

  • Now I see why John Kay always wore the dark shades. He got the EVIL EYE...a matching set!

  • @magprob Hes blind in his left eye and is light sensitive, dumbass

  • @aerofan0627 I know all about John Kay, and, I'm blind in my left eye, which makes my right eye sensitive also. People say I have an evil eye, because of my condition, dip shit. Fuck you.

  • @magprob So then since ppl say that about you you think its cool you can say it about others? Thats pretty much makin fun of them moron. Thats fuckin low

  • I have always "loved" Steppenwolf. Everybody can play it and it is listenable. The band is still great.

  • 1 Person thinks his hair is real

  • Bon Jovi's dad? lol

  • man amazing improvisation! steppenwolf always keeps their best for the live performances!! mesmerized!

  • Steppenwolf is a great band, no doubt.

    but the keyboard sucks...

  • @quaka96 Pretty darn good keyboards.

  • John, dude put the shades on!!

  • a 45 idiotas no les gusta valla valla par de idiotas

  • we can climb so high.....

  • 45 ppl born to be retards !

  • Absolutely wonderful!!!! I remember being 14 in 1971, hearing this song, and deciding to run away from home, hitchhike to California and join a rock band. The police caught me on the same day hitchhiking on the highway and dragged me back to school :(. Hahaha! Gotta love the memories! Rock on!

  • he looks like he should be a member of the Sons of Anarchy

  • Is it true that Jon is blind? And that he kept hidden from fans for decades, hiding behind his shades?

  • @jannyrcobs According to Wikipedia he is totally color blind (only sees black and white and shades of grey) and his eyes are very sensitive to light.

  • Heavy Metal Thunder XD Sounds Silly But Cool :D:D

  • who knew bon jovi could grow facial hair?

  • @sl4ssh @ PanekPL

I'm not specialized in music - so excuse me - I was just responding to a comment made by trafezzz - hope you don't talk like that to everybody you respond, PanekPL

  • @ratzinator1

bzzztraffe's comment I mean - it's definitely possible that they just played the recording as background to get the effect of the bass playing even though there was no actual bass player - I agree - all I know is the performance was still great like it has been in years past.

  • sounded alright without a bass

  • @ratzinator1

    0:06

  • @Franex666 totally man

  • @Franex666 learn english !!!

  • 42 very confused people out there..

  • I think his vocal ability sounds great considering how old John is, it sounds graceful and wise. Not many old-time vocalist can sing at this level anymore because...well maybe age or heavy substance abuse???

    I like smoke and lightning

    Heavy metal thunder

    Racing in the wind

And the feeling that I'm under

    "Heavy metal thunder ..."

... Words which gave birth to nowadays meaning Heavy Metal.
