but here because your health is a profit center for for many industries you are a customer, not a patient hence the object of any profitable enterprise is to increase profits and the only way to do that is to keep you ill. In the UK system its in their interest to get you better because it costs the government more money and I have consistently found I have been treated more quickly, effectively and more dignity than I ever have here in the US at worst the waiting times are not shorter in the US
Bob firstly I want to say I love your videos, I think they are great! However I have to disagree with this one. I was born and raised in the UK and have lived in the US for over 5 years. I have experienced both systems of Healthcare. Nationalized healthcare in the UK is far superior (not to say the US Govt would do as good a job as the UK with national healthcare), sure there are problems like there is with any system..........(please read next message)
So I'm a geek now? A geek and a scumbag. Powerful words from a deadbeat anarchist coward.
I don't give a shit about what realtors in america are like. Things work differently in Europe. People are different.
Instead of acting like a spoilt child why dont you get off the couch grow some brains and get a job. That way you can start aiding the political organisations you like.
You've given me lots of personal information about yourself that has enabled me to deduct who you are. I've told you nothing about myself, yet you feel comfortable making the leap of what type of person I am based on my comments on one video. You are a typical ideologue.
You rationalized that the officers in the UC Davis video felt threatened - comical. You refused to accept any points that tend toward support of the opposite viewpoint. Hard-headed ideologue. Grow up.
Personal information comes easy. Couldnt care less. Reason I followed you to this video was becuase your account is unreachable for me, the video was deleted and I have too much pride to let a comment like that go unanswered.
I did not say the officers felt threatned. I said they wanted a reason to go after the rest of the crowd, and they can use small signs of even the most ridiculous threat to go after protesters. No sane riot police would feel threatened by a bunch of unarmed yelling kids.
And you are quite right. I am an ideologue. But that doesnt mean I'm wrong. Funny thing is we're both on the same side. I just don't agree with the irrational primitive behavior during protests. No one wants to listen to an uncontrolled mass of screaming monkeys. If protesters where to use cunning and organisation they could reach much further much quicker. That is what I'm saying.
Yeah, your right. I don't like the protests either. There are more constructive ways to make a difference. Contacting your representative on important issues, volunteering to make get-out -the-vote calls, etc. The protesters are spinning their wheels.
id rather have a machine deal with education and healthcare than the government or some greedy biased asshole trying to weasel out of insuring you when you need it the most.. or what is or is not normal in society.
Health Care in the UK is looked at as (oooohhh aaaahhh....i wish we had that) Your wrong ppl...it's good in many ways but the level of hygein is back in the middle ages...if you go in with a broken leg, fine...if its a infection..u can count on bringing atleast 1 other one home...hopefully not life threatening...MRSA is still a favorite here
I work at a hospital btw...one of the largest in Europe
If i got seriously ill "god forbid" , i'd move abroad and pay..(but im broke) SCREWD!
I live in Canada and the healthcare system here is absolute shit. If you say that it's "soo good because you don't have to pay" you are as ignorant as it gets. Here in Alberta the average 4 person family payed over 10 000 dollars in taxes in 2010 alone just for healthcare. That is absurd. Not to mention the service is god awful. The US has a privatized system per se but you'd be surprised at the amount of regulation and govt meddling that goes on which destroyed the system in return.
@zsoltii100 Its easy to make these statements while you are healthy. Why don't you make these statement again when your colon cancer matures, or when your private insurer decides to stop covering you because they dug out some info that you grand dad was a carrier of a disease that you didnt report.
When an insurance company doesn't have the right to select insured people, that means they have to insure everyone, which in turn, bankrupts the insurance company because they have to start paying out for EVERYONE that is insured, even those that will cost the company money. Just like the pension program being robbed because of the baby boomers, this will eliminate insurance companies.
dude, theres always a trade off. If you are in the states and if you have money/ insurance, you will get i assume speedier service but its very expensive and your insurance cost will go up. Or you can be in Canada where services on average is slower "BUT" no one gets left behind and you "WILL" get your appropriate treatment.
Trust me, it's not like that here (I live in Canada). It's honestly a terrible system, and the only thing worse is no health care. It looks good on paper, but when you have to wait in the ER room for 24 hours, and then when the waiting room is so full that they start making people go to other hospitals it can't be that great a service. I honestly don't know why anyone would want to replicate our system, it's a failed socialist program, much like socialism.
@zsoltii100 The service is god awful?? My grandmother was 80 when she had open heart surgery in Vancouver within 3 hours of being taken into the hospital and survived another 8 good years before she had a stroke...
damn stop doing drugs, look at canada or in england...socialized health care & its not a total disaster. Healthcare insurance in the u.s. is pure profit and not about taking care of people.
@urbman29 The middle class already pays most everything. Any money over $300,000 is not taxable. About 50% of what you earn is already taxed. Who is going to pay for this?
@urbman29 Friend; do you think there are enough poor people who have money they do not need to pay for this disaster? Would it not be better to abolish all tax breaks and have one flat tax rate for everyone? Don't get me wrong, but tax the rich, or just tax the poor just will not cut it. This is a national problem with no easy answer. The road to recovery runs through, not around this problem. We as a people need to work together, and hold our elected leaders accountable for there decisions
In the UK we've had a National Health Service since 1948. Its shit at times but you don't need fucking money to stop yourself from dying. And if you want and you can afford it you can still get health insurance. You'd still have the option to pay for treatment if you thought the service would be better but you can still afford not to die under national health. And considering guns are legal where you are it might be worth it.
I get it yes, If you wan to promote nationalized free-healthcare for all, your a socialist. I guess that means that person who brought free public education, is a socialist. Or the guy who regulated food stamps is a socialist too. I guess that also means socialist programs like the Federal Communications Commission, Food and Drug Administration; road, streets, highways, freeways, and welfare programs. I guess we should abolish those programs all because their considered socialist too???
@MrSquaky No there not considered socialist for instance Public education because you have a choice of whether to send you children there or to private school. Nationalized health care would not give you a choice of where to get a medical attention done because it would be all under the same SHITTY system.
Public education is indeed a socialist program. Just because you have an option for private, or home schooling doesn't mean the tittle of public education is changed. As for health care plan Obama said in quote: "First, if you are among a hundreds of millions of americans who already have health insurrance, nothing in this plan will require you or your employer to change the coverge of the doctor you have." If you like your insurrance you can still keep it.
I live in the UK. Doctors are paid extortionate salaries, not the same as a garbage man. If I want to see a doctor I have to wait three days. If I tell them it's urgent, I see one in a matter of hours. Dentists, exactly the same. Scans, surgeries, treatment, prescriptions: all completely free. Have lived with this for all my life and it's not a perfect system, but I would not trade it for the world, and am glad to pay extra taxes for this socialist / nationalist healthcare.
@gte750h Don't split hairs. If you don't classify it as free because a portion of your taxes goes toward unversal healthcare, so be it. I'd gladly contribute towards it with my earnings, to see to it that not only I am taken care of when I get ill, but my parents, and my neighbour, too.
People are dying everyday and let me guess you would say "their problem" you know whats next bob, socialism is next and guess what you dont know jack shit about it. You think the goverment runs everything. Nahhh its the working class people who do.
74% of doctors plan to retire or change careers when the health care bill goes through. We can look forward to a LOT more debt, a severe doctor shortage SEVERE, state run health care and a LOT younger death rate. Thanks Obama - what a farce this man is. Those who voted this disgrace in should be ashamed of themselves. How ignorant can people get?
@XM8rifle I am far from ignorant. The Obamacare is designed in a way that will end up a single pay system -- on purpose -- check it out for yourself. Obamacare is a disaster - period. And if you do not know enough to see that for yourself, then perhaps you should study the pros and cons for yourself
@mbonkers Obama doesn't support a single payer system. The people who voted for the bill voted on it because it did put restrictions on what the health insurance corporations are allowed to do to people, like denying them care because they have a "preexisting condition".
@XM8rifle Oh Grief! I just HATE IT when people do not do their own homework and post stuff that is either make stuff up for the sake of argument or use some outdated talking point! DRIVES ME NUTS! Look, the preexisting condition thing is NOT why, is just one fraction of the bill, Obama DOES want single payer healthcare and said so & this is costing our gov over 1-trillion dollars and us personally by increased insurance premiums! (+ doctor’s shortage, poor care & on & on)
@XM8rifle again & again & again - look it up! Are all liberals lazy or just enjoy their trippin in ignorance. Why don't you just LOOK IT UP! Gad, you know I would bet your mamma is not very proud of you! Backing a complete and utter failure and using some old talking point that ISN"T even the point gets old... but lazy lasts forever
Looks to me like you are just throwing insults at me to try to cover your ignorant ass. You said that Obama supported single-payer, I proved you wrong. Typical conservative.
@XM8rifle I guess you are unable to look things up for yourself, (typical liberal). And try not to be hypocritical saying that I throw insults at the same time you do it yourself. Since you are unable to do your own homework, I will have to help (your ignorant ass) Here is a link, (if you need more than his ACTUAL words, let me know) - you tube com /watch?v=p-bY92mcOdk (now what do you think of your savior?)
Here's what happened! America hated Bush Sooooo bad, that they were willing to elect this smooth talking ultra leftist SCREWBALL into office. He was the most liberal Senator in our history yet that was never talked about amongst the mainstream (obviously left-tinted) networks. He spent his first year and a half pretty much pissing everyone off and trying to "CHANGE THE WORLD" as HE perceived it. And 2 weeks ago he and his ultra liberal fucknut friends took a beat-down!
Now let's get things straight! It wasn't just a beating, it was a flat-out massacre aimed STRAIGHT at obama, pelosi, reid and especially Mr. Fwank.
Maybe Mr. President obama would/should need more rap "artists"? and Hollywood type folk to come to his rescue.... or are they going to abandon him too? Oh poor little Barack who thumbed his nose at the American public. Or maybe he's just too inexperienced to understand. EITHER WAY, get the knob outta there now.... what a disgrace
And lastly Mr. Dragon, because of the "US's sociopathic evil health care system," there has been more advances in medical technology than any other developed country in the world. If there is anything to blame about the cost of health care, it's government intervention who keeps awarding people who don't strive to make things cheaper, better, and more efficient (See the GM bailout for 50 billion, and the NHS). I rest my case.
Life expectancy and the Quality of healthcare are two different things. In the US there are more murders, fat people, people who don't exercise, people who eat greasy processed foods like McDonalds, and way more people who smoke than any other developed country. Doctors can only do so much to heal someone that refuses to take care of themself by the way. Personally, I think it's a miracle that we're at 37 on life expectancy.
@AnnoyedDragon "If I wanted to run around google grabbing anything I could"
What, like anyone can't grab the bullshit WHO report with a google search? What's funnier than that, you keep bragging about how the US is only ranked 37 on healthcare on the WHO report, but you seem to ignore the fact that the WHO report is based on life expectancy.
You are sooooo right! Nationalized gov't controlled healthcare will be an over priced inefficent mess! Also, Obama and gov't reps (freeloaders) who advocate it will NOT be on that system themselves . They will continue to keep the separate better healthcare plan they currently have- that the average taxpayer doesn't have but of course must pay for ! How about having politicians who are competent and not just self serving big interest asswipers?!
Fact No. 8: Americans are more satisfied with the care they receive than Canadians. When asked about their own health care instead of the "health care system," more than half of Americans (51.3 percent) are very satisfied with their health care services, compared to only 41.5 percent of Canadians; a lower proportion of Americans are dissatisfied (6.8 percent) than Canadians (8.5 percent).[10]
Honestly, there is no getting to you. You think if you keep throwing stuff like that out; it will change anything? Whose country is undergoing health reform here?
There's no point in talking about American's being more satisfied. They pay more than Canada, for a system that is rated worse than Canada. Do these people sound clued in?
America's health system is never going to improve, because there are lots of people like you PROUD of bad system.
@Depravedmaniac666 Know what the most annoying thing about that list is? With it being the US, it's hard to know what's real and what's outright fabrication. You guys don't just spin, you outright lie. You pull shit out of nowhere, that ends up in British newspapers asking what the hell America is on.
Look up some of the English responses to US claims, people are disgusted by what is being claimed about our system over there.
@AnnoyedDragon Want to know what's funny, you haven't thrown a single fact around yet, and all you say is well your from the US, so you're obviously fabricating stuff. Or American's are dumb and aren't clued in so their opinion doesn't matter. Just ask me if you want sources. Do you know what, I'm done your argument is starting to sound, oh what's the word "redundant.
@Depravedmaniac666 If I wanted to run around Google grabbing anything to support my argument I could. Instead I relied on independent, international studies.
I've also got the first hand experience of the BS that has been coming out of America while the healthcare bill was a hot topic. Honestly, some of the stuff claimed in the US was so embarrassing; NHS doctors had to stand up to declare BS.
Ultimately it's up to the US, I just hope they can get passed all that propaganda.
Fact No. 7: People in countries with more government control of health care are highly dissatisfied and believe reform is needed. More than 70 percent of German, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand and British adults say their health system needs either "fundamental change" or "complete rebuilding."[9]
@Depravedmaniac666 Way to go to spin the facts there, I'd expect nothing less from the people who claimed Stephen Hawking would be dead today; if he was born in the UK with the NHS system... oh wait he was born in the UK, silly US.
With France, Italy, Spain etc. being rated better than our system, of course there are improvements that can be made. The problem is, just because there is room for improvement; doesn't mean we aren't already better than the US.
Fact No. 6: Americans spend less time waiting for care than patients in Canada and the U.K. Canadian and British patients wait about twice as long - sometimes more than a year - to see a specialist, to have elective surgery like hip replacements or to get radiation treatment for cancer.[6] All told, 827,429 people are waiting for some type of procedure in Canada.[7] In England, nearly 1.8 million people are waiting for a hospital admission or outpatient treatment.[8]
Fact No. 5: Lower income Americans are in better health than comparable Canadians. Twice as many American seniors with below-median incomes self-report "excellent" health compared to Canadian seniors (11.7 percent versus 5.8 percent). Conversely, white Canadian young adults with below-median incomes are 20 percent more likely than lower income Americans to describe their health as "fair or poor."[5]
Ok here's some fun facts you might not know Fact No. 1: Americans have better survival rates than Europeans for common cancers.[1] Breast cancer mortality is 52 percent higher in Germany than in the United States, and 88 percent higher in the United Kingdom. Prostate cancer mortality is 604 percent higher in the U.K. and 457 percent higher in Norway. The mortality rate for colorectal cancer among British men and women is about 40 percent higher.
Figured out what? You socialist mean to tell me that you have no issues with people frauding your systems or the low quality of your healthcare? You mean to tell me doctors who work in your country and want to move over to the US because they're tired of the government stealing their hard earned money isn't a problem?
@Depravedmaniac666 Don't you get it? All these claims of fraud and low quality healthcare is BULLSHIT! Oh I'm sure there are problems, there is always problems with everything, but nothing like what you probably think.
Americans are brain washed day in day out by propaganda from these private healthcare companies, they spend millions making sure you are ignorant and misinformed.
Stop watching American media and look at what the rest of the world thinks, our system is rated better than yours.
@AnnoyedDragon Fact No. 2: Americans have lower cancer mortality rates than Canadians.[2] Breast cancer mortality is 9 percent higher, prostate cancer is 184 percent higher and colon cancer mortality among men is about 10 percent higher than in the United States.
@AnnoyedDragon Fact No. 3: Americans have better access to treatment for chronic diseases than patients in other developed countries.[3] Some 56 percent of Americans who could benefit are taking statins, which reduce cholesterol and protect against heart disease. By comparison, of those patients who could benefit from these drugs, only 36 percent of the Dutch, 29 percent of the Swiss, 26 percent of Germans, 23 percent of Britons and 17 percent of Italians receive them.
So please stop acting like you don't have issues with your healthcare system. From the countless articles that pop up in a google search engine, about how piss poor of quality healthcare in your country is, nurses and doctors I've talked to from Canada, Sweden, and some from the UK personally about how miserable they are because the government steals a good portion of their hard-earned money, get poor treatment from patients, and lawsuits, that they would love to work here in the US.
I say if anyone abuses any type of government service at the expense of tax payer money they should at the very least be fined. I never said I was against free services, (like roads, mail, even some healthcare) which everyone has a right to, I'm just against people abusing those services and everyone else having to pay for the fucking mistake, at no responsibility for that individual who could've prevented the whole situation. Example, the arsonist, the fatass, Toothache, and the drunk driver.
Oh yeah, how the hell is everyone's right to a safe road relate to somebody having to pay for someone's medical bills if they ate to many cheese burgers, or didn't brush they're teeth enough? If a drunk driver hit's someone else on a road or crashes, why should the tax payers have to cover that? Don't give me that BS, well they have a right to free healthcare to! To which I agree, but not at everyone's expense for those particular reasons, especially when they are preventable.
Also why the hell should a person who makes more money automatically have to pay higher taxes? Healthcare secondly yeah, the US health care system has a lot of flaws and corruption, and I never said it never needed some type of change, however NHS is not the way to do it. You have yet to throw a counter to my argument.
If Johnson ate too many big macs, weighs 450 pounds, and now has to inject insulin and take expensive heart medicine, pay for the doctor visits etc etc, while 18 year Jim over here never brushed his teeth, ate too much candy, and now has a sore tooth, thus visits a dentist, should Johnson be forced to pay his debt? No. Should Jimmy have to pay Johnson's debt no. Why can't people just take better care of themselves, and pay for their own goddamn messes?
@EducationVids666 I've heard this argument countless times. It's half of a two person argument, one of the people using bad examples to argue against a NHS. The problem is the other person can just as easily use good examples to argue for a NHS.
The examples you gave are not a definitive counter argument, just 'a' counter argument.
There are numerous examples of the majority paying for a shared public service, I don't see complaints about paying for a fire service or roads you don't use.
@AnnoyedDragon Well let's see here, people generally don't start fires, they happen from time to time, and arsonists get punished with fines and jail every time they purposley do it. Same things with people who purposley damage roads. How is that a good counter to my argument? Sure, some healthcare should be free, for things people can't help but definetly not for the fatass, and mr broketooth and any countless medical condition that people can often prevent. Bottom line NHS isn't fair.
@EducationVids666 How is that possibly a counter argument? What has people purposely starting fires and damaging roads got to do with those public services costs being spread across the public? You make it sound like people are intentionally getting cancer or breaking a leg, just to rack up costs for the health service.
Your arguments are largely redundant because the NHS "works", it works in a lot of countries. American's are apparently the only ones that haven't figured that out.
"you act like people are intentionally getting cancer"
No dumbass, I never even mentioned my position on cancer, and the health system. I brought up things people can prevent, and things people intentionally do to rack up the costs of the system, and thats not even getting into the fraud.
@Depravedmaniac666 You know, I was wrong earlier, America isn't rated 27th in the world. The World Health Organization (WHO) ranked America 37th, Saudi Arabia (26) has better health care than you do. The UK is at 18.
Most of the countries in the top 20 have a national health service, yet somehow; the US had managed to dedicate a higher percentage of their GDP to healthcare than all of them.
You pay considerably more and get considerably less, yet you're still convinced the US system is better?
"What has people purposely starting fires and damaging roads have to do with those public services cost being spread across the public"
You're acting like I'm against public services, because I'm against free healthcare for everyone and everything. NO, I am against the government and other people wasting that money on things they could've prevented. Everyone has a right to public services, but should not have to hold everyone accountable when they abuse it. There's plenty of examples with NHS.
@Depravedmaniac666 Why do American's keep saying we get free healthcare? We don't get it for free, we pay taxes for it. In the same way that an American would be paying a life insurance company for their healthcare, we pay the government instead; and they use that to run the NHS.
And as critical as you are of the UK NHS, it is not only rated a better service than what is offered in the US; but it costs us less as a whole.
@EducationVids666 And why haven't you figured it out yet? Because tens of millions are spent to make sure you never do.
There is a huge lobbying force in America, making sure people are kept ignorant. The corporate interests that rip American's off, having them pay the most out of anyone else in the world; for care that is only 27th in the world, want to keep it that way. So they pay people and politicians to spread whatever propaganda they can.
I never said I hated nationalized health care, I just think people should have some responsibility for their damn health, and nationalized health care is not the way to do it.
I was born in England, we have nationalized healthcare.
Do American's realize how bad their healthcare system appears to those outside the US?
I've seen people on the art sites I frequent doing commissions, trying to pay off their three digit bill just to get a freaking filling for a tooth. I've heard people complain about all the needless expensive tests done to diagnose their problem, when they told the doctor the problem outright on arrival.
Hey drunkbob you are stupid. According to you not everyone deserves health care because you have to wait in line for four hours ? You must be out of your freaking mind. Go lick Bush's ass you stupid redneck
Im british and i am a socialist so you might not take this seriously but in the U.K we have the national health service which is basically a socialised health service payed for through taxation and it is used and appreciated by a large majority of the population and its not just left wingers who support it david cameron the conservative PM pays lip service to the nhs. No death panels, no charges and doctors are payed about 80 thousand pounds a year all obama care is is an insurance policy
The scary part about nationalized healthcare is the fact that is is not about healthcare. It's about control. When healthcare is overseen by the government it gives them control to say what we eat where we work, where we live. and ultimantly how long we will live. Wit the bill that Obama signed ito law theese thing will be 5 to 10 years away as total control of healthcare will be slowly phased in. Healthcare is always the "foot in the door" to total government control.
@compukenny The population of this country needs to wake up. Obama has taken control of auto companys, banks and wall street, In some cases already dictating wages. Theese things are not constitutional. He now has healthcare, again, not constitutional. The next step will be control of the media. That too will not be constitutional. We have a socialist in the white house that hates america and a congress that is just as bad.
@compukenny Have you ever been to a socialist country? Have you ever taken a political science class? You sound like an idiot who is repeating tea party lines without knowing the facts. Please check out the standard of living in Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Switzerland. If you claim that Obama hates america then what do you call what BUsh and the republicans did to us by creating this deficit and bringing us to war?
@compukenny "It's about control. When healthcare is overseen by the government it gives them control to say what we eat where we work, where we live. and ultimantly how long we will live."
Are you insane? Try actually looking at countries with national healthcare. Their lifestyles largely imitate America, only they aren't struggling with medical fees.
@AnnoyedDragon You're right. Only they're struggling with high taxes, drug addicts, waiting lists, and fraud. Seriously dude, why should I have to pay for some fat asses heart medication, or pay for his diabetes insulin? It was his choice to eat too many fucking Big macs. Nationalized health = lower quality and forces everyone to pay for things that aren't their problem. I know there is a huge gray area on this subject but making it totally free for everybody and everything is not the answer.
You are fed propaganda about nationalized healthcare by lobbyists. You are indoctrinated to hate it; and believe things people who actually live in countries with a NHS find absolutely absurd.
Healthcare rationing, death panels, 6 month waiting times etc. it's all nonsense. From our end it looks like a sad joke, they pull stuff out their backside.
And all for what? To keep you faithful for a broken system practically robbing you.
@AnnoyedDragon I'm being robbed? Say good bye to one third of each of your paychecks you worked so hard for (in most European countries). Even in Canada some of the provinces make you pay taxes of about 40%. Since when did I say anything death panels, or 6 month waiting times? You do however have to wait a long time, I know you have to wait longer in certain European countries not sure how long you have to wait in Canada though.
@EducationVids666 A third of our wage? Depends on how much you earn. US Taxes are lower, but the amount of money you spend on health insurance begs to question who is getting the better value. Health care is a big issue in the US, it isn't in the UK.
According to one survey, 46 million Americans couldn't afford health insurance in 2009. Those that do, still have to contend with it randomly dispersing when they get sick, because for whatever reason it doesn't cover them.
Maybe instead of nationalized system of hospitals and health care, it would be better if each state had it's own system. As the united states is a big country.
everyone should be entitled to heath care. and the same levels of health care. tommy douglas created universal heathcare in saskatchewan and then it went across canada. the united states like canada have huge national resources which should be used to provide healthcare for its citizens. even if that resource is labour. i agree with the whole government disaster thing. but i don't agree with denying people healthcare because your too cheap, when money is fiat, and it will cost the same.
@dddproject ARE YOU JOKING????? let your mom, or dad have to wait 3 weeks to see a doc.when they have a BROKEN HIP!!!!! goverment schools!!! im tellin ya!!
@yersisterlovesme if you had a broken hip i think you would be taken care of. if you needed hip surgery on a hip that wasn't broken you might have to wait. why cant the system overcome wait times for non-emergencies? what is it about the private system that is so great at overcoming wait times. but i don't really care i don't live in the united states.
@dddproject i do live in the greatest country in the world.....and ppl like bob and i dont like seeing it go tward communism!!!! one "ism" is no better than the next!!!
@yersisterlovesme americans are paranoid about communism, think of america before communism or the soviets existed, like before 1910, or 1945. what about government of the people, for the people, by the people like presidents said. or national parks which america takes pride on. or libraries invented by ben franklin. i am not a communist, but it was only after the iron curtain that america became so into privatization. i think health care &hospitals should be available to those who need it.
@dddproject paranoid....PARANIOD???? CHINA HAS MORE RIGHTS THAN WE DO!!!!!!!!! wake up!!! not "presidents"....our constitution!!!!! the fucks in DC only represent THIER pockets...THEY DONT GIVE A RATS ASS!!! besides obama taking the arizona law to the U.N. is TREASON!!!! that fuck head is trying to get us killed....and since you DONT live here WHY do you give a shit????????????
I agree with you, the government should not be in charge of healthcare. However the government is the only institution I know of that can efficiently administer a national health insurance plan. This would lower costs to everyone without diminishing quality of care, and that is not a baseless claim, it has been done in every other industrialized nation on the planet. By the way, nationalized healthcare is not the same as "free" healthcare, it would be best to have high up front costs for care
@yersisterlovesme Let's see I think I can do better than one. Military, Infrastructure (roads, sidewalks, subways, etc), education, police, firefighting, funding of basic science research. There are some things that just don't make sense to leave in private hands, and payment for health care is one of those things... like it or not that's what the evidence points to. No one disputes the fact that privately insured systems are more expensive than systems which are "socialized".
@xjoeybrokenedgex Are Americans that selfish that you'd let your fellow Americans - who are less well-off and were not born into wealth - suffer, just so you can pay a bit less tax? Cunts.
With Nationalised healthcare people actually end up paying less for healthcare. The proportion of income that the UK spends on healthcare is a lot less than that in the US. Poor people shouldn't be put off seeing a doctor about something that worries them because of the cost. Doctors don't get paid the same as garbagemen under nationalised healthcare, and they will still go to school for 8 years yes. If government run healthcare is so bad why do the vast majority of British people support it?
@wowsa0 In all fairness, the government of Britain has done a better job than the US government with a lot of things, and at this point, with american leaders all getting their pockets lined, I think nationalized healthcare would just become another racket, like war. This guy is an idiot though. He never criticizes republicans, even though they do all the same shit to us as democrats.
@wowsa0 Can you just answer me this; why is the Vast Majority of Europe (including the UK) in more debt than we are if nationalized healthcare is So good?
@j03y2fly Correlation does not imply causation. There are a variety of factors separating US and EU economies, and nationalised healthcare is only one part of that, you'll have to make a much more convincing argument than that to prove that nationalised healthcare results in debt.
The government is in charge of your medicine and you arent getting it = Disaster! I live in England and we have the NHS. Its a 3 year wait to see a Doctor and i found it was quicker for me to cut my own leg off than to bother going to the hospital. Mostly over here we use wikipedia to self diagnose and follow this up with ancient druid potions and self flagelation.
Right ... stop whining ... if gouvernment is so bad, why are people whining that the Gouv steps in the Gulf of Mexico ... that's what they good enough for ...
Ohhh yes we clearly see what happens when the gouvernment gives control to the big cooperations ...
We all need to break away from our political ties and favoritism. As long as we continue to register as a particular party member, we will continue to have these same problems. We all turn a blind eye to the candidates we like. It's natural. Just think how it would be if all the liars and cheaters were impeached! Wouldn't we have just a few more honest people in office?
@matthewswaim no more im not reading any more comments ,ive posted like a billion comments on this video argueing the same facts! No no more im done!! lol.i give up i cant argue anymore.Ive argued with like 15 ppl on the same vid!!! never again!!!
We must question the motives of our leaders. Keeping them in check is the only way to preserve this great Union. But, we must also question ourselves and make absolutly sure that our beliefs are in the truth. For if we are not in the truth, we are in nothing. Anything done without truth and honesty will come to naught.
WELL MR. drathjon I guess this wouldn't sound familiar to you because, well 15 years ago you were just learning how to wipe your own butt. Your just repeating what your liberal teachers have taught you. Its ok I don't blame you. Its the system. Thats whats wrong with this world Bob, these kids are growing up without any proper education. One more thing for the kid: YOU NEED TO BROADEN YOUR HORIZONS A LITTLE AND GET SOME FACTS FROM THE OTHER SIDE.
@matthewswaim ahahah actully no, i know my facts and thier quite solid but most republicans try to play a card that isn't real or is real but the majority doesnt agree with, like the war, but again thats why you guys are so stubborn to admit anything you've done wrong even though republicans are the reason were in this depression, think for a sec buddy.
@drathjon Ok man, Here we are in the same old discussion. We both say it's the other guys fault. But, I told you exactly what I thought the dems did to cause the recession. What did the repuplicans do? Not enough to stop it? I'll agree with that. Because I AM willing to admit my mistakes. That's why I'm not registered as a republican any more. What I want is the truth! If all your info comes from the national media, you won't get the truth.

but here because your health is a profit center for for many industries you are a customer, not a patient hence the object of any profitable enterprise is to increase profits and the only way to do that is to keep you ill.

Grow up.
JustRelaxing1 2 months ago
Personal information comes easy. Couldnt care less. Reason I followed you to this video was becuase your account is unreachable for me, the video was deleted and I have too much pride to let a comment like that go unanswered.
I did not say the officers felt threatned. I said they wanted a reason to go after the rest of the crowd, and they can use small signs of even the most ridiculous threat to go after protesters. No sane riot police would feel threatened by a bunch of unarmed yelling kids.
AtrumMixer 2 months ago
And you are quite right. I am an ideologue. But that doesnt mean I'm wrong. Funny thing is we're both on the same side. I just don't agree with the irrational primitive behavior during protests. No one wants to listen to an uncontrolled mass of screaming monkeys. If protesters where to use cunning and organisation they could reach much further much quicker. That is what I'm saying.
AtrumMixer 2 months ago
@AtrumMixer
Yeah, your right. I don't like the protests either. There are more constructive ways to make a difference. Contacting your representative on important issues, volunteering to make get-out -the-vote calls, etc. The protesters are spinning their wheels.

The US has a privatized system per se but you'd be surprised at the amount of regulation and govt meddling that goes on which destroyed the system in return.
zsoltii100 7 months ago 6
@zsoltii100 Its easy to make these statements while you are healthy. Why don't you make these statement again when your colon cancer matures, or when your private insurer decides to stop covering you because they dug out some info that you grand dad was a carrier of a disease that you didnt report.
AnjuABCDE 6 months ago
@AnjuABCDE
Bllasae 6 months ago
@zsoltii100
dude, theres always a trade off. If you are in the states and if you have money/ insurance, you will get i assume speedier service but its very expensive and your insurance cost will go up. Or you can be in Canada where services on average is slower "BUT" no one gets left behind and you "WILL" get your appropriate treatment.
AnjuABCDE 6 months ago
@AnjuABCDE

This is a national problem with no easy answer. The road to recovery runs through, not around this problem.

MrSquaky 1 year ago
@MrSquaky The road programs seem to be gone anyways here in Ohio. All the roads are full of holes and falling apart.
scottieman2 1 year ago
@MrSquaky No there not considered socialist for instance Public education because you have a choice of whether to send you children there or to private school. Nationalized health care would not give you a choice of where to get a medical attention done because it would be all under the same SHITTY system.
whothaplaya 1 year ago
@whothaplaya

Have lived with this for all my life and it's not a perfect system, but I would not trade it for the world, and am glad to pay extra taxes for this socialist / nationalist healthcare.

mbonkers 1 year ago
@mbonkers Obama doesn't support a single payer system. The people who voted for the bill voted on it because it did put restrictions on what the health insurance corporations are allowed to do to people, like denying them care because they have a "preexisting condition".

Depravedmaniac666 1 year ago
@Depravedmaniac666 Feeling better yet?
AnnoyedDragon 1 year ago
@Depravedmaniac666 Know what the most annoying thing about that list is? With it being the US, it's hard to know what's real and what's outright fabrication. You guys don't just spin, you outright lie. You pull shit out of nowhere, that ends up in British newspapers asking what the hell America is on.
Look up some of the English responses to US claims, people are disgusted by what is being claimed about our system over there.
AnnoyedDragon 1 year ago
@AnnoyedDragon Want to know what's funny, you haven't thrown a single fact around yet, and all you say is well your from the US, so you're obviously fabricating stuff. Or American's are dumb and aren't clued in so their opinion doesn't matter. Just ask me if you want sources. Do you know what, I'm done your argument is starting to sound, oh what's the word "redundant.
Depravedmaniac666 1 year ago
@Depravedmaniac666 If I wanted to run around Google grabbing anything to support my argument I could. Instead I relied on independent, international studies.
I've also got the first hand experience of the BS that has been coming out of America while the healthcare bill was a hot topic. Honestly, some of the stuff claimed in the US was so embarrassing; NHS doctors had to stand up to declare BS.
Ultimately it's up to the US, I just hope they can get passed all that propaganda.
AnnoyedDragon 1 year ago
Fact No. 7: People in countries with more government control of health care are highly dissatisfied and believe reform is needed. More than 70 percent of German, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand and British adults say their health system needs either "fundamental change" or "complete rebuilding."[9]
Depravedmaniac666 1 year ago
@Depravedmaniac666 Way to go to spin the facts there, I'd expect nothing less from the people who claimed Stephen Hawking would be dead today; if he was born in the UK with the NHS system... oh wait he was born in the UK, silly US.
With France, Italy, Spain etc. being rated better than our system, of course there are improvements that can be made. The problem is, just because there is room for improvement; doesn't mean we aren't already better than the US.
AnnoyedDragon 1 year ago
Depravedmaniac666 1 year ago
Depravedmaniac666 1 year ago
Ok here's some fun facts you might not know Fact No. 1: Americans have better survival rates than Europeans for common cancers.[1] Breast cancer mortality is 52 percent higher in Germany than in the United States, and 88 percent higher in the United Kingdom. Prostate cancer mortality is 604 percent higher in the U.K. and 457 percent higher in Norway. The mortality rate for colorectal cancer among British men and women is about 40 percent higher.
Depravedmaniac666 1 year ago
"And why haven't you figured it out yet?"
Figured out what? You socialist mean to tell me that you have no issues with people frauding your systems or the low quality of your healthcare? You mean to tell me doctors who work in your country and want to move over to the US because they're tired of the government stealing their hard earned money isn't a problem?
Depravedmaniac666 1 year ago
@Depravedmaniac666 Don't you get it? All these claims of fraud and low quality healthcare is BULLSHIT! Oh I'm sure there are problems, there is always problems with everything, but nothing like what you probably think.
Americans are brain washed day in day out by propaganda from these private healthcare companies, they spend millions making sure you are ignorant and misinformed.
Stop watching American media and look at what the rest of the world thinks, our system is rated better than yours.
AnnoyedDragon 1 year ago
@AnnoyedDragon Fact No. 2: Americans have lower cancer mortality rates than Canadians.[2] Breast cancer mortality is 9 percent higher, prostate cancer is 184 percent higher and colon cancer mortality among men is about 10 percent higher than in the United States.
Depravedmaniac666 1 year ago
@AnnoyedDragon Fact No. 3: Americans have better access to treatment for chronic diseases than patients in other developed countries.[3] Some 56 percent of Americans who could benefit are taking statins, which reduce cholesterol and protect against heart disease. By comparison, of those patients who could benefit from these drugs, only 36 percent of the Dutch, 29 percent of the Swiss, 26 percent of Germans, 23 percent of Britons and 17 percent of Italians receive them.
Depravedmaniac666 1 year ago
So please stop acting like you don't have issues with your healthcare system. From the countless articles that pop up in a google search engine, about how piss poor of quality healthcare in your country is, nurses and doctors I've talked to from Canada, Sweden, and some from the UK personally about how miserable they are because the government steals a good portion of their hard-earned money, get poor treatment from patients, and lawsuits, that they would love to work here in the US.
Depravedmaniac666 1 year ago
I say if anyone abuses any type of government service at the expense of tax payer money they should at the very least be fined. I never said I was against free services, (like roads, mail, even some healthcare) which everyone has a right to, I'm just against people abusing those services and everyone else having to pay for the fucking mistake, at no responsibility for that individual who could've prevented the whole situation. Example, the arsonist, the fatass, Toothache, and the drunk driver.
Depravedmaniac666 1 year ago
Oh yeah, how the hell is everyone's right to a safe road relate to somebody having to pay for someone's medical bills if they ate to many cheese burgers, or didn't brush they're teeth enough? If a drunk driver hit's someone else on a road or crashes, why should the tax payers have to cover that? Don't give me that BS, well they have a right to free healthcare to! To which I agree, but not at everyone's expense for those particular reasons, especially when they are preventable.
Depravedmaniac666 1 year ago

EducationVids666 1 year ago
@EducationVids666 I've heard this argument countless times. It's half of a two person argument, one of the people using bad examples to argue against a NHS. The problem is the other person can just as easily use good examples to argue for a NHS.
The examples you gave are not a definitive counter argument, just 'a' counter argument.
There are numerous examples of the majority paying for a shared public service, I don't see complaints about paying for a fire service or roads you don't use.
AnnoyedDragon 1 year ago
@AnnoyedDragon Well let's see here, people generally don't start fires, they happen from time to time, and arsonists get punished with fines and jail every time they purposley do it. Same things with people who purposley damage roads. How is that a good counter to my argument? Sure, some healthcare should be free, for things people can't help but definetly not for the fatass, and mr broketooth and any countless medical condition that people can often prevent. Bottom line NHS isn't fair.
EducationVids666 1 year ago
@EducationVids666 How is that possibly a counter argument? What has people purposely starting fires and damaging roads got to do with those public services costs being spread across the public? You make it sound like people are intentionally getting cancer or breaking a leg, just to rack up costs for the health service.
Your arguments are largely redundant because the NHS "works", it works in a lot of countries. American's are apparently the only ones that haven't figured that out.
AnnoyedDragon 1 year ago
"you act like people are intentionally getting cancer"
No dumbass, I never even mentioned my position on cancer, and the health system. I brought up things people can prevent, and things people intentionally do to rack up the costs of the system, and thats not even getting into the fraud.
Depravedmaniac666 1 year ago
@Depravedmaniac666 You know, I was wrong earlier, America isn't rated 27th in the world. The World Health Organization (WHO) ranked America 37th, Saudi Arabia (26) has better health care than you do. The UK is at 18.
Most of the countries in the top 20 have a national health service, yet somehow; the US had managed to dedicate a higher percentage of their GDP to healthcare than all of them.
You pay considerably more and get considerably less, yet you're still convinced the US system is better?
AnnoyedDragon 1 year ago
"What has people purposely starting fires and damaging roads have to do with those public services cost being spread across the public"
You're acting like I'm against public services, because I'm against free healthcare for everyone and everything. NO, I am against the government and other people wasting that money on things they could've prevented. Everyone has a right to public services, but should not have to hold everyone accountable when they abuse it. There's plenty of examples with NHS.
Depravedmaniac666 1 year ago
@Depravedmaniac666 Why do American's keep saying we get free healthcare? We don't get it for free, we pay taxes for it. In the same way that an American would be paying a life insurance company for their healthcare, we pay the government instead; and they use that to run the NHS.
And as critical as you are of the UK NHS, it is not only rated a better service than what is offered in the US; but it costs us less as a whole.
Healthcare expenditure as a % of GDP in 2005.
US 15.2
UK 8.2
AnnoyedDragon 1 year ago
@EducationVids666 And why haven't you figured it out yet? Because tens of millions are spent to make sure you never do.
There is a huge lobbying force in America, making sure people are kept ignorant. The corporate interests that rip American's off, having them pay the most out of anyone else in the world; for care that is only 27th in the world, want to keep it that way. So they pay people and politicians to spread whatever propaganda they can.
Honestly, the stuff I've heard is disgusting...

I never said I hated nationalized health care, I just think people should have some responsibility for their damn health, and nationalized health care is not the way to do it.
EducationVids666 1 year ago
I was born in England, we have nationalized healthcare.
Do American's realize how bad their healthcare system appears to those outside the US?
I've seen people on the art sites I frequent doing commissions, trying to pay off their three digit bill just to get a freaking filling for a tooth. I've heard people complain about all the needless expensive tests done to diagnose their problem, when they told the doctor the problem outright on arrival.
Defending such a system seems ridiculous.
AnnoyedDragon 1 year ago

Im british and i am a socialist so you might not take this seriously but in the U.K we have the national health service which is basically a socialised health service payed for through taxation and it is used and appreciated by a large majority of the population and its not just left wingers who support it david cameron the conservative PM pays lip service to the nhs. No death panels, no charges and doctors are payed about 80 thousand pounds a year all obama care is is an insurance policy
redllewellyn 1 year ago
The scary part about nationalized healthcare is the fact that is is not about healthcare. It's about control. When healthcare is overseen by the government it gives them control to say what we eat where we work, where we live. and ultimantly how long we will live. Wit the bill that Obama signed ito law theese thing will be 5 to 10 years away as total control of healthcare will be slowly phased in. Healthcare is always the "foot in the door" to total government control.
Socialism, comunism, ect
compukenny 1 year ago
@compukenny The population of this country needs to wake up. Obama has taken control of auto companys, banks and wall street, In some cases already dictating wages. Theese things are not constitutional. He now has healthcare, again, not constitutional. The next step will be control of the media. That too will not be constitutional. We have a socialist in the white house that hates america and a congress that is just as bad.

Are you insane? Try actually looking at countries with national healthcare. Their lifestyles largely imitate America, only they aren't struggling with medical fees.
AnnoyedDragon 1 year ago
@AnnoyedDragon You're right. Only they're struggling with high taxes, drug addicts, waiting lists, and fraud. Seriously dude, why should I have to pay for some fat asses heart medication, or pay for his diabetes insulin? It was his choice to eat too many fucking Big macs. Nationalized health = lower quality and forces everyone to pay for things that aren't their problem. I know there is a huge gray area on this subject but making it totally free for everybody and everything is not the answer.
EducationVids666 1 year ago
@EducationVids666 I feel sorry for American's, honestly I do.
AnnoyedDragon 1 year ago
@AnnoyedDragon I'm being robbed? Say good bye to one third of each of your paychecks you worked so hard for (in most European countries). Even in Canada some of the provinces make you pay taxes of about 40%. Since when did I say anything death panels, or 6 month waiting times? You do however have to wait a long time, I know you have to wait longer in certain European countries not sure how long you have to wait in Canada though.
EducationVids666 1 year ago
@EducationVids666 A third of our wage? Depends on how much you earn. US Taxes are lower, but the amount of money you spend on health insurance begs to question who is getting the better value. Health care is a big issue in the US, it isn't in the UK.
According to one survey, 46 million Americans couldn't afford health insurance in 2009. Those that do, still have to contend with it randomly dispersing when they get sick, because for whatever reason it doesn't cover them.

Maybe instead of nationalized system of hospitals and health care, it would be better if each state had it's own system. As the united states is a big country.

everyone should be entitled to heath care. and the same levels of health care. tommy douglas created universal heathcare in saskatchewan and then it went across canada. the united states like canada have huge national resources which should be used to provide healthcare for its citizens. even if that resource is labour. i agree with the whole government disaster thing. but i don't agree with denying people healthcare because your too cheap, when money is fiat, and it will cost the same.

youraveragejoe87 1 year ago

If government run healthcare is so bad why do the vast majority of British people support it?
wowsa0 1 year ago
@wowsa0 In all fairness, the government of Britain has done a better job than the US government with a lot of things, and at this point, with american leaders all getting their pockets lined, I think nationalized healthcare would just become another racket, like war. This guy is an idiot though. He never criticizes republicans, even though they do all the same shit to us as democrats.
punkeratheart 1 year ago
@wowsa0 Can you just answer me this; why is the Vast Majority of Europe (including the UK) in more debt than we are if nationalized healthcare is So good?
j03y2fly 1 year ago
@j03y2fly Correlation does not imply causation. There are a variety of factors separating US and EU economies, and nationalised healthcare is only one part of that, you'll have to make a much more convincing argument than that to prove that nationalised healthcare results in debt.

We must question the motives of our leaders. Keeping them in check is the only way to preserve this great Union. But, we must also question ourselves and make absolutly sure that our beliefs are in the truth. For if we are not in the truth, we are in nothing. Anything done without truth and honesty will come to naught.

If all your info comes from the national media, you won't get the truth.
