  • gti not just letters , its the gt engine and gearbox, longer gears for top end fun with fuel injection system , great cars plus this 1 has the 6 speed box

  • gti not just letters , its the gt engine and gearbox, longer gears for top end fun with fuel injection system , great cars ............

  • Vtr isnt the gti or sport version really is it!? I think ul find the vts is! U just aint got a clue what ya on about!... I hope u never get to drive something like a gti 6 cause you'd obviously be a danger to everyone in it! Same as a 1.4 306! Haha

  • @expiry0209 PMSL! Most idiotic comment I've heard. What powers a 1.4 running, 80bhp? And this will keep up with 170bhp? Riiiighhhtttttt

  • @zedx19 Dunno what power the 1.4 has to be honest but when I went In It the speedo seemed to go up the same as the speedo In the video.

  • @expiry0209 did you notice that this is acceleration to 100MPH not KPH? i own a 1.4 and it has about 13sec to 100kph

GTi is just a name? rotfl

  • I am sorry It is In Mph My mates speedo. gti On many cars is Just a name To be honest. The same as the word sport is used on alot of cars that are not sporty. My example would be they do a citroen c1 vtr. This model is no quicker than the basic c1. The days of hot hatches are numbered Thankfully.

  • @expiry0209

thats 100mph.. you prob... thought it was Kmph.

  • @expiry0209 your full of shit mate i owned a 306 myself before i bought a gti6 and it took ages to get to 100mph and that was with piperx induction kit and forged pistons with a few other bits and that was pushin just und 96bhp, as far as i know a standard 1.4 306 only puts out around 80bhp, my gti6 on the other hand i can get to 135 in 5th gear in under 3/4 of a mile, when you drive a gti6 you will see the difference....*

  • @expiry0209 *...and as for the insurance, i was payin £4750 a year to insure a 1.4 306, my gti6 costs me £3100 a year, the letters after the engine size dont make much difference atall, neither does the engine size itself, its more down to the amount of the cars in question have been wrote off by the age group in question, for instance, for a 17 y/o to insure a 1.6 saxo vtr will cost them £4500 maybe more because of the amount of vtr's that have been written off by 17 year olds.

  • @expiry0209

No 1.4 will accelerate as fast as this you dick.

  • @smilie120 Renault 5gt turbo running high boost will accelerate quicker than this and that`s only a 1.4 Muppett.

  • @expiry0209 HAHAHAHA! 0-60 in the 1.4 is probs slower than 0-100 on GTI-6. Only model bar the 2.0's this fast is a re-mapped HDI D-Turbo

  • @expiry0209 hahahahahahahahahaha has any 1 ever told you that you talk complete bollocks a 1.4 will be as quick as that hahahaha a 1.4 probs wont even do a 110mph for a start let alone in 20 seconds . i think you have just woken up with ya head in ya corn flakes !

  • back in the day i was considering buying a 306 "rallye" which was a gti-6 but without the luxuries and more importantly without the extra weight. I think it was about 70kg lighter but kicked ass

  • you started moving at 0.02 and by 0.08/0.09 you had reached 60 mph............ thats 6-7 secs for 0-60

    thats good

  • can somebody tell me what is the difference between GTi-6 and 306 XN ? Thank you

  • @NPetkovv the XN is a 1.4 8 valve with about 80bhp, the gti-6 is a 2L 16 valve with 167bhp and a 6th gear, hence the name gti-6, to look at the isnt that much diffference, bu when you drive 1 you will see just how much difference there is

  • jacky

  • That 6 speed gearbox is probably the best PSA and Peugeot have ever made. Does wonders with that engine. 8 sec 0-60 EASY. It's not all about power guys, weight and gearbox are HUGE factor with this car. And great chasis.

  • most arent stock if you buy them, chipped or cammed.. did u have a test of a dyno if it is stock ;)

  • Maybe it 's a "confort" version (strange name!)...lighter weight , different gearbox... and certainly a strong wind behind!!!^^...

  • sorry but I know perfectly this car for several personal reasons & it is not a stock 306 GTi here , i'm sure when I see the time for the 0-60 and the 0-100 mph...

Thus say to us the truth dude...

if you are not mod the engine, you are at least a very lighter car or/and not in a flat road or/and big wind in the ass ^^ or it is a dyno test

  • Private road? lol it's prob a slip road to the motorway so a bit downhill then indicating....yes indicating. Don't indicate on a private road do you. nice sound though!

  • @Djwatzy how can it be a slip road when he drops his speed back down just as fast as he builds it up?

  • @TheRealBambii1 yeah fair point, was drunk when i wrote that but still dont get the indicating if its a private road but hey, who cares

  • @Djwatzy agreed mate just kinda got worried about what you did on a motorway haha

  • for all we know it could be sitting up on blocks!! it could well not be, but it always makes me wonder, when people are making these vids showing the speedo an rev counter, why dont they lift the camera up at some stage, jus for a second so that there is no doubt its a real vid.. i mean he could be going down a massive hill..

  • My old Saxo VTS would prob match that 0-60 then you would piss all over me LOL

  • XU10J4RS is very good engine.

  • is gti6 faster or the ford rs cosworth faster?

  • @upbeatmantis86 LOL!!!

  • the 306 is the better car than the astra but i think ill stick with my 106 Mi16

  • that is 0-60 in about 6.5 second man! mines been in garage for 6 months but cannot wait to get back in it! Mine runs 180 bhp though :)

  • hill

  • 3rd gear looks insane man. just pulls :O

  • @1988RudeBoi Easy now rude boi! I didn't know the 205 GTi did 60 in first, is that right?! Must be a 1.9 yeah? My mate had a 1.6 that'd do 40 in first.

So you're thinking of getting a 6? There are some on ebay that i've seen, some have 65-70k miles :-)

I really like mine but it's nearly done 120k so i'm a little apprehensive about spending too much on mods.

The GTi6 club have all the best contacts for parts etc, so you'd be ok. I like those ST170's, especially in the dark grey. Very nice!

  • @DavidBailey25 finally someone gets the name ha!

well my mates did down in milton keynes, and he told me it was standard, had no reason to doubt him, and it handled like a go-kart!

Im a bit wary of ebay tbh, heard too many horror stories, thinking of upping the budget a little bit and going for a 3 series coupe, see what June brings around :) excitin tho :D

  • Would have been nice to see it go all the way!

  • ooooook so...had a mk1 focus st170 for a few years and now want something LIGHTER. been lookin at a few cars and am pretty tempted by the gti-6's. only problem is they all seem to be 100k plus mileage, and ive also heard there are hardly any genuine spare parts for them, any advice? also how far do the engines go before you're lookin at a rebuild?

  • This looks quick for a standard 6!

I've had a silver 6 for 4 months it's had a few bits done to the engine and lowered 50mm, it did 0-60 in 6.8 0n my mates mobile stopwatch!! Does 40 in first! Great for seeing off the saxo boys around town! :-)

  • @DavidBailey25 does 40 in first? but so do most 8 year old petrol cars :p the 205 gtis will do 60 in first ;)

  • @1988RudeBoi erm....no...

  • @jarrus464 erm...yes...

  • nice, so looking forward to getting my 205 gti6 completed now!

  • Simple answer.... Go to usc at santa pod this year and battle it out up the 1/4 mile strip. My '6' ran a 15.2 sec @ 93.--mph. Was completely standard although i did take the spare wheel and back seats out :-). I am a fan of the 106 gti and rallye but they just dont come close to the gti-6 all round, hence why i bought a 6.

  • 106 gti, saxo vts n 306 gti6 are all nice cars for what they are but theyve got no tuning potentialin my eyes. should leave them how they are coz dont understand spendin £££ n then chuckin tons of power to the front wheels lol just stupid

  • Unfortunately the gti 6 doesn't really respond well to anything other than cams and super chargers/turbo chargers. Exhausts, filters, etc you are only going to see another 15bhp maximum. They are fantastic cars and give a lot of other new hot hatches trouble and I neve rget bored supprising type r owners :D, but they are being outdated as most new cars of the same spec are increasign in power each year.

  • *get one of these

  • 110mph with 2 gears to spare is fast enough for anyone, can't wait to finally of one of these.

  • wtf.

    peugeot is french. not german.

the gti-6 will rape a stupid astra and a tiny 106.

yeah maybe ur 160 brake 106 gti will keep up with this or maybe beat it, but this is standard... so you have spent thousands on a car which just about beats this :s common sense would say start with this and spend thousands on the 306, have it double ur pathetic bhp then

  • @cmarshall118

    Standard 106 GTI ( 8.5 sec ) is faster as a 306-6 ( 8.8 sec ) to 60MPH

    106 Whit 160 HP destroys a stock 6 :D

  • You dick head! a GTi 6 is capable of 7.3 seconds to 60. I should know, i have one.

  • @PugMarshall2906

why call me Dick head ??

Im just saying what the paper specs say

And a 106 GTI is the same as saxo

and on paper it does 7.7 s To 60

And i had both and my 106 was faster to 60 :D After that the 306 Takes the lead , but that wasnt the point :D

  • No the 0-60 paper spec for a 6 is 7.3 - 7.6.

In your last comment you said the 106 GTi does 0-60 in 8.5, now your saying 7.7?

And of course the 106 GTi and Saxo VTS are the same - that's because they are the same car.

  • @PugMarshall2906

no on paper it says 8.5 for the 106 GTI

and 7.7 For the saxo vts ... :S Same cars .....

  • But they are the same car.

They even both have the same engine and chassis.

Are you saying they aren't the same car?

  • Wrong. Peugeot's official figures are mid 7 seconds for both the rallye, gti6 and 106 gti. The 106 gti will keep up mor eor less with a 306gti6 until about 60mph, then it gets left 10 cars behind.

  • @XploiTee the 8.8 for the gti-6 is pugs way of bringing the insurance group down EVO mag got 7.2 for the gti-6 and 6.9 for the 306 rallye, they got the 106 gti in at 7.4

  • my S1 106 rallye with 1.6 bottom end on (8v) sat right behind one. I have induction kit and exhaust, he had induction kit and exhaust.

there was absolutely nothing in it! and thats purely down to weight :) Still like the gti-6 / rallye :)

The gti-6 is quick but but heavy car so 106 gti and 106 rallye will sit neck and neck :)

Shame i dont have my throttle bodies fitted yet :(

  • yer i agree on what you said there as the rallye has a great gearbox and its dead light but what sorts of speeds was this on the gti6 will do 140 though im not sure the 106gti would

  • My 106 GTi only did about 125 standard.

  • Sounds like 1.3 box. I do really like 306, rallye/gti/xsi/di etc but to be straight up without all the cock and ball "no way 106 could keep with it" just isnt true, of course gti 6 will pull from the 106 weather 8v or 16v Top End, low down though there is nothing due to weight and the gearing. The 106 gti/saxo vts are geared for 135 (standard 16v box) have heard of many though hit 140... i wouldnt want to in such a light car... facts are facts paper figures are nothing, tyres/gearing/driver etc

  • @s1rallye It had the GTi box i think its called a CD08 that as on flat ground i had about 133 on a slight incline. It just didn't have the power for flat ground, not that they're not fast for little cars though.

  • Peugeot is a french car :S

  • errrm ive just got a 306 gti 6 and they are quick as fook and definetly french and definately quicker than the 106 obviously

  • for 1 its the driver and 2 my 160bhp 106 gti will rape both cos ive had a vxr corsa which aslo has 197bhp!

  • i'm not being fynny chap, vxr corse's are crap anyhow. 'modern day 205 gti' vauxhall called it. erm, i dont think so......

  • i wouldnt say corsa vxrs are crap, redline loves the corsa vxr, they even took one to the ring and thinking of buying one as a tester

  • It's all down to which one would you rather have - 306 or Astra...

    No brainer... 306.

  • guys guys save the arguing, the 306 is a better car ok!

  • @mr2gti

    Focus ST170?

I'd still have the 306 but. Well. Just sayin' , ya know.. lol

  • no way is this standard, the official 0-60 time is 8.5s, that is about 6.5s, if it is standard you are going downhill.

  • your wrong peugeot stated the 0-60mph time of GTI 6 to be 8.5s as the (official figure) in a chance to reduce the insurance cost of the car, if you read the (SMALL PRINT) in the book below that it says that the 0-60 time was done with a full laden vehicle and passengers!!!! the actual 0-60mph time figure is 7.2s as tested by EVO magazine and autocars best time in the wet was 7.8s!!!!! :)

  • well im sorry but that is bulls**t, if Peugeot were stating that to reduce insurance that amounts to FRAUD. The 8.5s time i am reffering to came from Parkers who as far as i know do not do the 0-60 run with a full car load!! if they do then my astra 2.2 will be faster than their stated time of 7.9s !

  • well im sorry to shit on your parade buddy but its true, do some research!!!! if you think about it............ a car that has 167bhp weighs 1215kg and delivers 196nm of torque is no way gonna be that slow off the mark!!!! i take it you have the astra sri?? so if your car can do 0-60 in 7.9 secs has 20 less hp (147bhp) and weighs 200kg more than a GTI 6 how could the peugeot be slower???? tho even sayin this the GTI 6's 1st & 2nd gears are long, above 60mph these cars keep pulling and pulling!!

  • yes i have a SRi, and no it doesn't weigh 200kg more than the 306 ( would be the Vectra ), My Astra is 1230kg, can you do maths and work out the difference buddy?? The 306 may have more hp but the Astra has more Torque, and if you know anything about cars Torque is what you want, hp is just a measurement of the engine.

  • i know enough about cars to tell you a 306 GTI 6 is faster than an astra 2.2 sri in a straight line and a hell of alot quicker round a rwisty road, the Astra has 4lb ft of torque more so its basically the same as the GTI!! as for parkers 0-60 times ??? they do them by the manufacturer's book (lol)!!! im not telling bullshit, what peugeot did to reduce the cars insurance was true and as car testers such as EVO say the 0-60 time is 7.2secs and tested!!!!! END OF

  • Ok you reckon the real 0-60 is 7.2s, then tell me this;

    GTi 6: 1215kg, 167hp, 193nm. top speed 135mph

    Astra 2.0T: 1272kg, 197hp, 250nm, top speed 150mph. 0-60 time of 7.0s.

Are you seriously telling me that a car like the 2.0T is only 1/5 of a second faster than a GTi6 that has 30hp less, and over 50nm of Torque less?

And don't try to argue about the difference in weight, 57kg difference is less than the average passenger!!

  • well for starters the 306 rallye is 52 kg lighter than a GTI 6 and does 0-60 in 6.9 secs (same engine) so basically that is what the extra weight in the astra is doing im sure above 60mph the astra GSI is alot quicker where its extra torque really shows, but weight is important!!!

actually weight is hugely important even if it is slightly less than the average passenger, F1 drivers lose 2/10th's of a second a lap if they have 20 percent body fat compared to the 10 percent they must have!!!!

  • i know weight is important, but the 50kg is hardly anything to go by, one car magazine last month put in some extra weight such as a tv, etc, and it only added about 0.1 seconds to the 0-60 time, this is the same power, but if a car has MORE power and has the same extra weight, it cancels each other out, so how is it possible that average 50kg affects time that much as you are saying?

  • i dont mean to sound as if the extra weight is doing everything to the time it is at the end of the day how the car delivers its power and torque, also gear ratio's play a massive part on how quick a car accelerates, the GTI 6 has a 6 speed close ratio gearbox which is very smooth and produce's a quick gear change!!!!

i still do not understand why you are denying professional car testers such as EVO, autocar and performance car there 0-60mph test's on peugeot GTI 6??

  • listen mate i don't want to argue no more, you believe what you read in evo, i believe what i also read. lets just leave it there. by the way when did evo do this test, what issue was it?

  • no probs buddy, if you buy any EVO mag at the back of each issue there is a car performance spec list which shows every car EVO has tested past and present stating from weight, torque 0-60/ 0-100 etc etc just look under the hot hatches section!!!!

  • dude ur a dik. u should remember that peugeot is german, so the conditions when it was officially tested for specs it was on a german road with german weather, wind coulda been on its side etc... there are small very particular details that change speed rate of momentum etc...

bear in mind the 306gti6 is a 6 speed so the 1st few gears are higher ratio for quicker take off etc then at 4,5&6th gear the are shorter ratio blah blah. its not all power/torque etc, its how its utilised in the gearz

  • for starters i thought the pug was french? thats what i have always been told anyway. and why are acting tough? you don't even know where i live, all you are is a sad lonely immature guy who has to go round name calling when you don't agree with them. get a life.

  • mr tennerman, since when peugeot is german?.. dick

  • @tennerman

peugeot is german ? you fucking knobrash, stop running your mouth off when you dont know what your talking about

  • @767nutter Right you are!!!

It´s so obvious that it´s downhill. It almost accelerateas quicker in 3rd than in 2nd gear, so he is obviously starting to go downhill. Also notice how the acceleration all of a sudden dies out in 4th gear. Lame!

  • i dont think i'll ever get rid of my 6, i love it!!!!!! got a few mods like cams de cat induction kit etc etc.......... amazing sound :D and it is an animal on a twisty road, such a good solid feel when cornering and puts most cars at 5 times as much money to a wobbly mess, its a shame that cars arent made like this anymore!!!!!! :( ......306 GTI 6= legend

  • i also have one, completely standard. Only had it 2 months. They are this fast and the sound they make is amazing. Wolf in sheeps clothing.

  • i have one, and they are THAT quick standard. I have upgrading airtake and decat tho :P sounds a beast ;)

  • this car is never standart

  • thats quick as fuk for a standard

  • Pretty quick

  • bought a gti6 engine to go into my 205, cant wait to get it working!

  • no way that standard , dont fool me

  • 100% standard. 0-60mph in 6.8 seconds with 145lb of torque. read up my friend.

  • my dad just bought one SO MUCH QUICKER than they look on videos and they look quick anyway!

  • This was one of the videos that encouraged me to get a GTI-6! Had mine for the past 6 months, not too far off 200bhp now ;) Such fun cars, though the air con seems to fail alot!

  • this could be sighns of your headgasket going mate id get it checked ! ive just got ridd of a 3.0 supra na for a gti6 and im impressed so they must be good !"

  • what have you done to it to reach near 200? Only way you can achieve those figures is with uprated cams and a remap.

  • took me a few months to realise there was a reply on this! But yes, that's exactly what I have, uprated Piper cams (BP285's), PiperX Viper carbon closed induction, Full pugsport decat system, manifold and a remap - does wonders for the 6!

  • You must be at about 200bhp? Looks healthy.

  • Hi there zx19 earlier you were you saying that the gti is more powerfull through the rev range than the 172? Or did i mussunder stand ? Was quite fancing one off these gtis, are they reliable?

  • fairly, but you must change the cambelt every 30k, they are seriously prone to snapping beyond 30,000 miles.

  • 6 seconds on this vid. Would say downhill but only because im jealous! Hah!

  • totally standard? wow, these are even more rapid than i thought!

  • Looking at getting one of these, appears to be pretty quick! What's the economy like? I'm not too bothered, coming from a Civic VTI but you know..

  • 20mpg when your right foot gets heavy, driving it economically expect anywhere from 250-300 on a full tank.

  • it is. I have just acquired a GTi-6 stock, believe me its as fast as fu**.

  • It most deffinately is. 2 litre 16v 167bhp engine with a 0-60 time of 7.2 seconds.

  • Comment removed

  • Thats a bloody quick time - are you sure totally standard? if so i'm seriously impressed. thats about the sane as a Clio 172 cup/182 and certainly quicker than a 197. nice vid

  • Having owned a mk1 Clio 172 before this, I can tell you real world its quicker, much more grunt throughout the revs.

  • @zedx19 seems like a really nice gearbox, that makes a massive difference

  • @zedx19

the chronos in a run for a really stock 306 GTi with stock engine , stock weight in a flat road without rain and wind is :

8s about for the 0-60 mph (I count around 6s here!!)

    and

    20s about for a 0- 100 mph (I count around 13,9s!!!)

Chrono even better than a Ford Focus 305hp Turbo and a Renault Sport Megane 3 RS 250hp Turbo!!!

For a stock 306 GTi (with normal conditions) is definitly not possible...

  • @davejarvis

see my last comm, it is not a stock 306 GTi that we see here or not normal conditions i 'm sure of that when I see the times 0-60 & 0-100 mph...

  • i love the way you indicate on a private road....

  • i used to own one of these. lightly modded, bout 180bhp. its was awsome. iv had rs turbos etc but the pug was always the quickest. amazing car.

  • quicker than the rs?? my rs always pulled past my mates GTI6.. still a quick car but didnt have the guts top end

  • I'd like one of these for blatting around in

  • i cant help but feel that was done down hill...

  • Its standard.

Thats how quick they are because they are light and have excellent power to weight ratio.

I would love one, but Ive heard stories of bad electrics, weak clutches and gearboxes so Im sticking to vauxhalls at the minute..

  • your sticking to vauxhalls.. says it all, tell me a vauxhall that compares to this? astra mk3 GSi? no amount of strength in the engine compensates for the soggy rot box surrounding it, gti-6s are drivers cars, excellent chasis, design and power with amazing drive dynamics that only ford, vw and renault can match. vauxhalls are a skid mark on the hot hatch industry and have no cars worthy of comparison. whats the point in power when the chassis doesn't let u use it huh. vauxhalls = garbage. fact

  • I thought that was KMPH at first! Thats bloody quick!

  • its that quick and its standard?! thats fast! im buying me 1 of these little rockets

  • i just bought one :D

  • what a car, got rid of mine a year ago to make way for the type-r, still miss it everyday tho.

  • hahahahaha private road!! lol what did you need to indicate for??

  • I own one of these. They are amazing cars. but better in 3rd and 4th

  • No you dont. lol!!

  • if ulook closer mph is in the same colour

  • Oh wait ignore me entirely - its 0-100 MPH. I was reading it wrong :P ok, impressive. My 306 (DT) does 0-60 in about 11, and to 100 in about 20!!

  • get it staged 1 mate your dt will do 10 or 9 then like mine cant wait too get a 306 gti :)

  • no its mph, it maxes out at 140 if u look again.

  • hes right its MPH, if you look closely there is red small writing reffering to the kmh.

  • you're right about being an ignorant peasant! FOOL

  • That looked to be about 0-100 in 14 seconds, approximately. Not bad at all ! Faster than a 1970's V12 E-Type Jaguar if memory serves me correctly. I think I once read a test of one of those doing it in 14.7 seconds compared to the 12 ish of a Norton Commando 850.

  • yep good 0-60 too.. 6-7 seconds

  • what engine mods have you done for it to acel that good? ace vid though... impressive

  • none, thats standard same as mine. 167bhp 16V close ratio 6 speed gearbox.

  • All this talk of corsas? They dont handle anywhere near aswell as the 306s. My first car when i was 17 was a 306 1.4 with a turbocharger on it. That was faster than the corsa's. I now have the GTi-6 and it is an amazing car. It handles like an absolute dream. Its over 200bhp now, dont intend to do anymore to it because its fast enough. Private road, lies, who cares tho, Ive done 185 on my GSXR on the road. ha

  • HOLY SHIT

  • which is faster out of the peugeot gtis if u consider the 106gti,206 gti and 306 gti

  • 306 gti6 vs a saxo vts.

    Not realy a contest here.

167bhp 6 speed clsoe ratio gearbox vs 125bhp standard 5 speed manual gearbox.

To sum it up. 306 pwns saxo.

  • think you did 100 in 15 or 16 secs thats faster than a vts good stuff

  • top class mate love the 306 shame they dont make them anymore

  • It's the stupid fuel prices.

  • i bet thou that gti 6 can still keep up wi most modern day cars they still good 2day that y they are so rare to buy cos they such a good car

  • That was a nice car 10 years ago.. But it's no match for new sport hatch cars. Good video though =)

  • all this talk of astra's and corsa's is making me feel quite ill. They both look and handle shite compared to the 306 and i don't care if you swap a supercharged, nitrox V8 DB9 engine into them, i'd still have the GTi-6...and this is coming from a civic owner! 306 is a brilliant car - bar the electrics

  • Impressive. Even better when you consider how these things handle.

Any advantage your Vauxhall might make up in a straight line will be gone on the first corner. 306's rule the twisties.

  • lol see him hit the limiter in 5th/4th doing 110mph? Good at shifting by the way as well, just hope your not munching that nice 6 gearbox in the process, they are oh to expensive to repair/replace.

  • Can I have your car? Tired of my D Turbo!

  • My Nubira 2.0 16V is one second slower than your Frenchie :)

  • why whould u want a lotus when u can have a 306! lol

  • surely better to compare astra gte 16v with 205 gti 1.6/1.9.i dont care what evo mag says.both were fun to drive.astra of course was quicker in straight line but not around the bends.astra gte wasnt as bad for handling as people make out but you come off the pedal in a corner at ur own peril.maybe they cant drive but i never crashed mine.306 gti6 is a good sound car.i have driven one.would i buy one?.yes.not having a go dino355 but i hate evo mag.always have always will.

  • We still see loads of Pug 205 GTIs and of course 306 GTI6s (they are newer after all) but you simply do not see any Astra GTEs. Why?.easy.the engine gets used in other cars.evo mag eh?.other follower of the sheep.

  • if it's a private road, why did u use the indicators?

  • u dont get it.. my astra weighs about half tht...my car probs weighs the same as a 27stone man leight i know!! i tuk everything out of it..only thing init is my car seat

  • Also you find me one magazine review that actually gave the Astra (or Corsas for that matter) a decent review. I think you'll find there arent any. Pug 205 GTi - performance car of the decade by Performance Car magazine. Pug 306 GTi6 had a similar accolade given to it by EVO magazine if I remember correctly.

Now stop being jealous you Vauxhall hardcore fans and just accept the fact that overall the 306 IS a better car than your rot box ever was no matter what straighline speed is at.

  • We still see loads of Pug 205 GTIs and of course 306 GTI6s (they are newer after all) but you simply do not see any Astra GTEs. Why? Because they either rotted away due to rust or some talentless chav lost control of the boat like handling and put it in a ditch.

  • Why is that all the nice sensible comments are always undermined by UTTER UTTER IDIOTS with the "MY CAR IS BETTER THAN YOURS" attitude. Listen hear Vauxhall FOOLS - Astra GTEs I used to love 'em and still do, they were great when they came out, they couldnt handle but we didnt care caus at the time they were the fastest hot hatch about. Now we are in 2007, you tell me WHEN was the last time you saw another Astra GTE on the road HUH!?

  • the last time i saw an astra GTE it was in my rear view mirror

  • ok....lets chill ere................this peugeot GTI6 Is Ok......not to sound biheaded but my astra 2.8Gsi Turbo is 307Bhp top speed of 175mph and 0-60mph in 4.6seconds. bibi peugeot
