  • This is why we had beatles. please take the initiative.

  • @stuy2376 the beatles are not even that good their music differs far from buddy holly and ritchie valens

  • @markycincy3 Buddy Holly had a massive influence on John Lennon and the Beatles, one of many reasons they were so good. When I say "take the initiative" I'm saying to aspiring musicians, "study the greats".

  • @stuy2376 i don't have to study the greats i am the greatest....

  • @markycincy3 Yes Ringo....

  • @stuy2376 ever heard the song ringo by lorne greene

  • @markycincy3 No.

  • @stuy2376 or are you calling me ringo after ringo starr from the beatles

  • @markycincy3 Yes, John Lennon wrote a nice song for him called "I am the Greatest", just a wee joke!

  • MR.T HATES AIRPLANES FOR THIS REASON

  • So weird that he hails from Lubbock, TX of all places. Wreck 'em Tech and RIP Buddy Holly.

  • Lord, what did let happen to this wonderful young talented man? RIP Buddy Holly(Holley),Big Bopper(J.P Richardson),and Ritchie Valens(Valenzula).

  • Now, who doesn't like this song?! This song is BEAST!

  • "tonight they'll be noooo hesitatin' ..."

  • a legend and inspired the Beatles a truly great Artist , had he have live who knows what the music industry would have advanced to, a creative genius.

  • @bluerok8 The beatles named themselves after the crikets and the crikets got there name from the fact that the garage that they did there first recordings had crikets in it and they were in the records and they left it in some of the originals

  • @2ausome thanks for the info!

  • Stars will Always shine bright. love ''RIP''

  • i used to have respect for him but its gone this song is way too homosexual

  • bye bye, miss american pie

  • Nobody will be as good as him. EVER.

  • greetings from lubbock!!

  • My favourite FAVOURITE Buddy Holly song! He was taken from us way too soon :(

  • IF Elvis was the king of rock n roll, than Buddy and the Crickets were the Emperors of rock.

  • Rest In peace Buddy. A life cut way too short.

  • Rock In Peace Buddy, my friends the Damper Downs cover this song, tonight they are playing a show and Oh Boy i know they are going to rock so hard that Buddy will hear it. So happy i have good friends that know real music.

  • never forgotten. rip buddy, bopper and ritchie xx

  • @TCB4EP4EVA i like but i dont like cause they was the best trio ever

  • 53 years. RIP Buddy.

  • A picture of John Mueller on a real Holly song... the internet is becoming a sea of deception and misinformation. The day a tribute artist becomes the new picture of a rock icon is the day we lose all respect for fact over fiction.

  • My dear, what has our modern day "music" come to?! What happened to music like this?! There should be more singers/musicians like Buddy Holly, Frank Sinatra, and Perry Como 'cause if there were, we'd be much better off!!!

  • The times are not changed. People are the ones who are changing. R.I.P Buddy, you'r always been my favorit musician !

  • Buddy Holly writes the best love song.. longing for it, embracing it.. all of em..

  • Elvis and Buddy Holly.. OH lord

  • Buddy Holly: A True Pioneer of Rock N' Roll Music! I love their music.

  • I love the energy of this song, it really rocks

  • I'm on my about 10th time of playing this again...time for 11 here soon

  • I'm glad he died in a plane crash instead of a drug overdose. He would have lost my respect otherwise.

  • This is pure epicness! :D

    Love it soo much.

  • I'll be listening to this on my next business trip where I decline the plane and drive. RIP Buddy Holly

  • he rocks!!lol love it!!!!im gonna see my baby tonight o boy!!!

  • THIS is music , my dear 21st century teenage whores.

  • @venkatguitar I'm not a whore </3

  • @venkatguitar None of those 21st century wh***s will be watching this video so is it necessary to swear at the rest of us?

  • @Jeseta Shut your fuckin' mouth!

I'm 14 and I only listen to the 1950's music.

  • @TheProGamerHW That's lovely. I'm glad you have music you can listen to and enjoy. I also enjoy music from the 1950's.

  • @Jeseta your excellent observation has left me speechless *or rather - commentless* !

I made my earlier comment out of frustration. And I have every right to portray it on the comments section.

  • @venkatguitar Screw you...

  • @buttonchuck point taken

  • @venkatguitar Okay all I'm saying is that when rock n' roll came out, the adults hated it and said their era's music was "proper". You're doing the same thing that adults then did but with this era's music. But I do agree modern pop/rap sucks :D

  • @venkatguitar Thats what I tell my grandsons!

  • @venkatguitar I went to the Buddy Show in London! Lovely, to see WHOLE audience, dancing in the seats, youngsters too!

  • @eddyfinkful Ahhh wish i had too! he shouldnt have been in that plane. He just shouldnt have

  • @venkatguitar

What a smug and nasty comment. You do not have the right determine what is music and what isn't. You're not important and special cause you like something from the 50s, so don't think you are.

  • As one of those "dear 21st century teenage whores" I have to say that you are correct

  • @venkatguitar Ouch. Not all of us are whorish.

  • @venkatguitar Exactly!!!

  • @venkatguitar Oh come on, give us 21st century teenage whores a break! Some of us aren't completely brainwashed by the mindless garbage being crammed down our throats. Just be grateful that you grew up in an era filled with this century's most profoundly kick ass music.

  • @MrCrunkJoose Amen, brotha!

  • @venkatguitar good music exists from all generations....don't be so naive in thinking ur own generation had the best music...

  • @Salvus967 I'm 22, and 80% of today's top 40 can't even compete with the 70s and earlier. Beiber is a twat. Perry makes my ears bleed. Adele is absolute heaven. (sorry, I got sidetracked)... Pitbull and all those other gangsta dumb asses need to do the world a favour and cease existence. I really could go on...

  • Mickey Mouse was friends with Buddy Holly. Who knew?

  • hope my neighbours are liking tonights selections and hope they have work early doors lol " you dont know what youv been missing" lol

  • Buddy as big as Elvis Orbison and all the rock and roll stars

  • February 3rd '59 really was the day that music died.

  • Great song ...except that that picture is NOT Buddy Holly...the pic is of John Mueller, a Buddy Holly tribute artist - a very good one - check him out

  • youtube downloader FTW

  • John Wayne was despised, mainly because he stayed safely at home making shit films depicting him as a war hero instead of putting himself out there to serve like the other wannabe actors who didn't make it to fame because they were at war... unlike truly great actors like Jimmy Stewart... what an actor, what a man, what a record of service... but some of you don't want to hear that...

  • @ClaresStuff You're right. And some, like Glenn Miller and the Andrews Sisters, though they didn't fight, spent most of their time entertaining troops for morale. And lets not forget Bob Hope- and so many others who gave selflessly. Even Wayne, making patriotic pictures, very popular, could be said to have been helping the war effort.

i'm sure there were lots of people home making tons of money while others were dying on the beaches. I don't include workers making tanks, planes, etc

    -Bill

  • Buddy Holly was a legend.

  • i sang this a to my recital. everyone loved it. thanks buddy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • FULL SPEAKER AND READY TO DANCE BITCHES !

  • there is absolutely nothing in my sidebar. it's as if youtube's saying "well you don't really need to watch anything else after this". i already knew that but thanks youtube.

  • every time i listen to these song, they always remind me fallout

  • I prefer the live version, without the backing vocal overdubs.

  • This is not Buddy Holly. On the picture he is an impersonator, John Mueller.

  • @majmokbolygoja who cares?

  • Who in there minds can dislike this??? This some kick ass music!!!!!

  • I'm only 22, but this makes my heart sing!

  • That's not Buddy Holly on the photo lol ;p

  • Comment removed

  • who ever dislikes this song kill ur self

  • R.I.P. Buddy

  • Super beau souvenir!

  • I thank my grandad for introducing me to Buddy Holly - He's now one of my favourite singers! He had such a talent and his voice is so wonderful it makes me go weak at the knees! I'm so suprised I haven't heard of him before - He's amazing! I think I'm going to end up listening to him all night as usual, lol! :D

  • GREAT SONG TO LAY PIPE TO....BRING IT LEFT AND THEN BRING IT RIGHT!

  • This ain't a gay song, when he says "oh boy" he's talking about when he gets excited about getting the girl of his dreams. In our world we have lots and lots and lots of women.

  • The world needs more Buddy Holly

  • just imagine how big the man could have been.we have a local radio that play Greats such as this man

  • @Goodlife12334567 go hate somewhere else. this section of youtube is only for likers. no haters allowed

  • This was a lovely bit of reminiscing back to when singers actually had some musical talent. Nothing computer-assisted about this, that's for sure! Thanks!

  • If only one of the "artists" today had half the talent of Buddy Holly, the world would be a better place.

  • watch my account for this number sung by the Dutch Group: Highway....grtz

  • its so funny how like all the songs in that time only went for like 2 mins and songs now go for like 3... id rather listen to a great song for 2 mins then listen to a song for 3 mins and end up wanting to kill myself or the artist

  • Who do you think is better Buddy Holly or Elvis Presley?.

  • @matthewosmond1984

    Buddy Holly, never liked Elvis.

  • Where do I sign up to join the pistolprince fan club? LOVE your "prayer."

  • God uses discover card noob

  • you haven't gotta be old to like this I'm 28 my favourite genre is hip hop rap my favourite artist is eminem but i love music from the 50's and it is true pure talent

  • O' Boy!

  • kto polak łapa w góre

  • pistolprince, I don't think god will take you up on your offer. There are not enough of thos other CD's on Earth to make up for one of Buddy's

  • I must have gone through all his music! man what a legend! great songs! <3

  • he was a cutie!!!! lol

  • Augh... Why does fate always take the *good* singers away when they're young, and not the shitty ones?

  • @woollify ?what

  • Fantastic.

  • Six people don't now who start Rock and Roll

  • this young man was such an immense talent

it is almost mind boggling as to all the hits he had in such a very short time

RIP Buddy, we all love ya and will see ya one day!

  • very good singer! although i'm from another part of the world the free spirit of rocknroll live in his music. you can feel his joy of singing and that is important . +1 fan !

  • good song

  • There's no beatles without Buddy Holly... he inspired them to be musicians....

  • @mysteriousladydragon Add a helping of Chuck Berry and Elvis, and a dash of the Shirelles and the Miracles and that's the recipe.

  • how can u dislike this? its exquisite !

  • 5 losers have got to dislike this awesome song.

  • I paid 12/6 (old money) to see them in Wolverhampton in 1957, and had to walk

home 10miles as the last train had gone, but man was it worth the blisters.

  • @3funke cool

  • @3funke Are you serious

  • @3funke Yes, but was that walk up hill both ways?

  • @3funke My Grandpa seen Buddy and the Cricket's a few times. He was at Buddy's last concert and he shook hands with Buddy and he said to Buddy "Buddy you're already a legend". Buddy laughed and said "Thank you, but i've got a long way to go".

  • @3funke Wonderful letter!

Don't you miss it all? Don't you feel sorry for teens today? I sure do- I hit 13 in 1960- the music was fun, and it was i guess a little simpler time. Kids today don't seem like they have the fun we had.

    Bill in Canada

  • @baghend You guys were so lucky, my generation(I'm 13) is so boring compared to my grannys. I have so much respect for my elders though, so I enjoy myself.:)

  • @TeamPlayer98 Have more respect for yourself instead- future is yours- we've fucked it up pretty badly. And remember, back when I was 13 (1960) black teenagers were still being lynched in Alabama- tragic-brutal- for them, and many others- the cold war was on and we were all scared shit less someone was going to launch the missles. Sort of like now.

But you're on the right track- make an effort in school, think before you do anything stupid, be compassionate,

    Stay out of the army.

    -Bill

  • @baghend Thanks!

  • When you grew up the US was the worlds biggest superpower and manufactured more goods than any other country. The boys in your generation had real men to look up to like Johnny Cash and John Wayne. Not the niggers and hollywood scum of today. The minorities weren't becoming the majority and there was still a thing called national pride and if a working class kid like me wanted a job he could get one at a place like an auto shop, the illegal scum has ruined that for my generation too.

  • @majorporpoise Nope. John Wayne- whose real name was Marion- was despised by the Marines he portrayed. What fucked it all up was, among many other things, racist assholes like you.

Better start leaning Mandarin pal- your empire is in tailspin, bankrupt financially and morally, with no friends, and creating enemies faster than you can whack 'em.

Too bad- you all deserved better- but your politcians are corrupt liers in the bag of the corporations and big military.

    Enjoy.
