  • It seems like its easier to find points and relics in ditches and creeks north of georgia and west of here. all thats in the creeks here are sand and clay

  • @13chase131 Creeks are tough out here too!! Man made ditches sometimes cut right through old camps, thank goodness!!!

  • @greatbasinman Yeah that is smart to go look in ditches like that. i might see if i can find a ditch like that near a river or creek, might have some luck doing that.

  • Dang man, I'd call that a lunker day! Congrats all around, sick Humboldt!

  • @touchnova Thanks buddy, long time no hear!! Are you housebound yet??

  • @greatbasinman Yup, pretty much on the weather bit, but I might find a ridgeline or two exposed by wind, or a creek with stretches without ice. Pretty scarce though. Spend most of my days this time of year dreaming of how to get back to the desert. :)

  • congratz GMB some sweet points and the mortor was sweet as well

  • @crazyflint Thanks!!! Was really unexpected!!!

  • Hey GBM ,I think I found a pestle in same ditch as that Temblor chert knife. Called points there "carrots" because of the Malaga Cove shape and many are found tip down , straight up and down like a carrot. That mortar looks like a mortar-hopper. Can you see a black ring on top where the basket was attached by asphaltum? You sure it's killed and not worn thru?Which direction does the concoidal fracture cone of the break expand ? Kills are hit from bottom. Wear-outs from the top.Great finds!!PM51

  • @pestleman1951 Haven't found enough mortars to really know, but that would be great if it was part of a mortar-hopper. Overall it does seem to be rather wide for the small size where the actual mortar is.

  • Congrats GBM. Sweet point. That grinder is awesome too.

  • @jmwnycprr Thanks!!! My detector is gathering dust right now, finally did find a silver dime, I'll have to use it more in early sprimg

  • Awesome hunt there GBM! Sure is different than what we have around here,Good to see how, and where others look. Thanks for posting.

  • @777Timo Thanks Timo!! Pretty hard to top whats found in Missouri and Texas!!!

  • @Teckfall15 Thanks!! I'm way out west.
