i saw him on a directv special playing with "toto." totally awesome, had to check him out....he play his own custom bass which is made to look like a curve or as if the frets are totally whacked.........i had a dream about a bass that looked nearly EXACTLY like it. crazy stuff.

@jareds1007 Lee Sklar usually plays a Dingwall which has the Novex "fanfret" system with a longer scale bass strings and shorter scale higher strings, hence the fanned frets. It looks wierd but takes virtually no adjustment to play, Lee, and Dingwall also use small banjo or mandolin frets which give a great feel and tone.

We did this video at the old A&M studios in Hollywood which became Henson Studios. Yumings husband and partner is Manta Matsutoya and is the piano player in this. Mike Baird is the drummer....one of my best friends and a GREAT drummer. I have done perhaps 25 albums with Yuming. Love her!!!

Mike Baird and his world famous wig! :-) Mike was bald when he was in Journey and as bald as you can get when I met him at NAMM 08! This said he's a superb drummer and I put it right up there with JR and Jeff when it comes to the top L.A. studio guys.

Lee Sklar is a legend. Wonderful player. I love him! Check out his band Barefoot Servants. Great blues rock stuff like Skynyrd meets Hendrix meets Free!

I cannot stand the singer though.... The song is not bad, but I don't like her voice.
