It's funny that you mistake my Canadian accent for an American accent, eh?
And I can well imagine your drunken accent as my father (1903-83) came to Canada from Liverpool (in 1927) and he never lost his scouse accent. :)

My father was from Liverpool. He grew up on Catherine Street. He emigrated to Canada in 1927.
