@yooalina16 How are you sure? That i am not from the Philippines? WHAT GIVE YOU THE RIGHT TO TELL ME TO FUCK OFF? and How am I Ignorant? Saying the how I pity the man because he was well educated but lived in a poor place? The one who's ignorant is here is you! ma'am
you should really fck the hell off here ,okay sweetheart? lol
It is well obv. that you are fucking insulting the old man right there! Have you got a Brain? I have the right to tell you that because I am the BOSS here! LOL
@yooalina16 Oh yeah! I totally insulted the man by saying he had an "education" yeah! that's insulting him alright! you're the boss of nothing! you don't have the right to insult me you peace of trash! when that I insult the old man? you need to be more understanding and stop being ignorant, okay sweetheart? I understand why a simple minded person like yourself don't understand what I tried to say and how I didn't mean to insult anyone but you clearly started this drama.
@poofkaboom Why dont you just shut the hell up! and learned to respect people and not to Judge! because your not God!!! Okay ? Oh i didnt started this! i just said "Fck off" and you did response Son of a femaleDog!
@MrTagapinasako You're from the philippines and you have the heart to say that? Geeezzz.....That's why in the Philippines when you are poor you will always be poor. I see how it is.
What you are is the sum total of your history, your heritage and culture, your education, the crap that your press sensationalizes, the bad icons that your movies glorify, the artificial values your advertising extols, the bad examples your leaders and role models project.
What you feed your country's mind is what it becomes. You have become the ugly monster that you've created. You are now crying all the tears your sickeningly sentimental movies wailed out for years and years! Your Biggest Fault If there is one thing that comes to mind, I think your biggest fault would be your individual greed. "Ako muna!" seems to be the national mantra.
The trouble is, very few people think for the common good in a deplorable "to each his own kurakot" festival. Coupled by your crab mentality of pushing down others, this can be fatal. You think barangay, not national. Hello, everybody else around the world is thinking global! Europe is unshackling her national boundaries while you are building fences around your nipa huts.
someone asked me one time. do you want to be rich and miserable? or do you want to be poor and miserable? i said to my friend, misery is a FRAME OF MIND. in a 3rd world, poor country like the philippines, one has no control over his economic situation, but people ANYWHERE has control over their ATTITUDE IN LIFE.
Although I recently haven't had much money, this teaches you not to take what you do have for granted. However, if possible...I would donate what little I have to this family in hopes that they would make a better life for themselves.
Life is unfortunate for people in this part of the world but seems everywhere I see in this video there are so many children like rats running around the tracks. People don't care if their children suffer life of poverty when they grow up or maybe just lack of family planning in this country
He doesnt complain, he doesnt winge, I dont have this , i dont have that...He gets on with his life, does best with what he has and he always have a dream, you cant live a life without a dream...Such a nice doco...well done.
aw man. so heartbreaking, he went to uni for 2 years but didnt finish cause of lack of money. dammit the government needs to know that education is top priority. education means educated man. educated man means a good job. this equals to lessening of poverty. our county shouldnt be in this crisis if the people up top know the hardships of life.
I wanna go back to philippines even though it's a poor country with lack of resources becos I'm happier and it's where I belong... I miss my relative and family in da philipines. I hope da government in da pilippines can help homeless and stop chaos.
Every country has its poor people, some make up the majority. I am a Filipino American and I'm proud of who I am and thankful for what I have- if you don't like us nobody told you to watch it, how retarded can you be? If you take time in your day to go online and bash other races you need to be castrated, seriously.
Wow.. I have to respect these people for working for their money and not just standing around asking for it.. You filipinos are awesome with your "Alabang Moves" hehehe.... Compared to the all the other 3rd world countries.. Philippines is the only 3rd world country I would ever consider living in...
like him is millions of people r surviving any way they can ,they stroggle n fight minut by minut with hope on better ways on their minds. is sad n make me shout real load what that fuck is goin on on this world , why the humans haft to suffer this way?he is trying real hard for his kids he knows he never will go back to college unless packiao help him but we know he is helping a lot o ready now,but if i win the lottery u r on my list to help u brother.MAY THE LORD OF U CHOICE BE WITH YOU
Luckily the trains there don't move that fast. You will hear it a mile away --perhaps more. There's no danger in this occupation, but there doesn't seem to be much money in it either.
The are many people in the world with material wealth and not feel good in spirit and there are people in the world like the gentleman in here who is living a fine spirited life.
this video inspired me.. especially the trolley guy..wow. his motivation is amazing. honestly im a person full of complains.. what kind of food im gonna eat.. clothes.. money...etc.. but then i saw this video... wow... this guy has something that i do not have... Joy in his heart.. by the way im a filipino.. thanks for the vid!
Filipinos are simple & hard-working people. i am a Filipino myself, born in Mandaluyong Metro Manila. i was born in a SLUM in a railroad neighboorhood where houses are made of thin wood, connecting from 1 wall to the next. i've seen a lot of things & i know how it is to be poor & have nothing. these people here in the video are not so different from how i live in the past as a small boy. so in-case people don't know or have any idea how we Filipinos live, watch & learn...
@KruZniK79 I'm pretty sure there are more people out there who've lived a life similar to yours. I've been to places in the Philippines, the Bahamas, Mexico, etc. I've seen how the people live in those countries. It's so sad that people in rich countries like in the US make problems out of nothing, out of stupidity, and such, they have no idea how people live their lives in countries like this.
This guy is a lot better off than the homeless in the US. Here they go to garbage bins searching for food and sleep in sidewalks and underneath freeway bridges. This guy maybe poor but still has his dignity and happy with what he have.
I think the homeless in western countries are homeless for different reasons...alcoholism ? mental problems ? There is PLENTY of help available to them. No comparison to this great guy in the vid, and the millions like him in the Philippines. I'm married to a Filipina and have lived there many times.
living here in the philippines is hard, poor people living here, dont care about anything.. they just work hard for the whole day to feed their family.. and i think thats why we filipino people are always happy.. despite all of the hardships, we always manage to survive... god bless the philippines...
The poor people in the Philippines doesn't care about material wealth all they care is to feed their family and try hard to get their kids to school. And hoping someday they will get off from poverty, with this kind of stories there is no doubt due to their hard work they will get out of that life. They deserve better lives than this.
@762459 "with this kind of stories there is no doubt due to their hard work they will get out of that life." They won't. We have a glass ceiling. They can only get to some point and that's it. With our population explosion and the lack of sustainable debt solutions plus the monopolyzed economy and homogenous educational industry, in due time none of us, especially these guys, will get anywhere. We need change. Fast.
it is really an inspiration how he was able to eke a decent living despite all the odds stacked against him. great job mr journeyman! you are able to capture and highlight the inherent goodness and indomitable spirit of man...
Here am I complaining about my Job, when this man works so hard for little just to survive, This really opened my eyes, when I go back to Philippines, I promise to give back to my people. Mabuhay!
IT'S NOT THE UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES!! ITS THE POLYTECNIC UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES!!! The University of the Philippines is not located there!!
Life dealt these guys a bum deal, but they don't moan about it and play the game with a smile on their faces. We in the west are fortunate and do not appreciate our good luck.. Materialism does not equate with automatic happiness. Their enduring persistence deserves our admiration.
these trolley tresspasers wont be so popular with the local community if they get hit by a train and the family and kids riding on it are killed....they have been doing this for years...even the kids have toy trolleys....i am a railwayman..i know what its like when people get hit by trains..........marty
@Aupas : I go to the PI several times a year. Going next month. So many hard working, terrific people there. Especially if you're Filipino, you owe it to yourself to have a visit. Awesome beaches, beautiful women.
What this man is doing and all those who condone him is dangerous and illegal. C'mon people this is not a question of being happy or not, of course this man is NOT happy hes just smiling for the camera! The culture in this country, especially the CIVIL SERVANTS and rich poeple have to do a lot so that poeple won't have to resort to this. Thinking this man is trully happy is stupid.
@AdrianHo0303 He isn't truly happy ;P but he is somewhat contented with what he has, according to surveys Philippines is just next to India of being one of the happiest countries despite their conditions in life. So what if it is illegal? he is human he has to survive in the world, if you were him you would also do the same. Filipinos have the "Bahala na" expression which is like "We leave our fate to God alone" :P he is happy coz he is contented but he isnt happy also coz of lack of finances.
@SnappyHip this is just the kind of attitude the corrupt politicians and people in power want -'don't worry,be happy'.Of course anybody has to survive, but this only shows the attitude of many Filipinos."who cares"-"bahala na"-it has nothing to do with God.Hw many people in the Phils.today?90 mil+?hw mch ws the Lotto prize?700mil+,heck nobody needs to be poor in the phils!,if they gave out loans so that evryone could start his own legitimate business nobody has to live dangerously, like this man.
Now that there are commercials on so many youtube videos, it won't be long before the internet becomes complete bullshit just like the rest of the MSM.
That's so true. I was living in Singapore before coming to the Philippines and everybody there is very rich but you only see long faces, as opposed to here, where they all immensely happy and thankful for the simplest things in life.
I respect this man a great deal. Some ppl have all the material things this world offers but really they don't have what this man has. Courage, perseverance and above all LOVE.
@krazeekd09 i agree.. you see hugely famous successful and rich movie stars here in america who feel this need to find meaning in their life. they go to things like scientology, a cult, to find it.
while the rest of us think if we only had that kind of money we would be truely happy, they show us its not the case
filipino people is very skillful when it come to survive...

Thank you for making this documentary. I really enjoyed it.

1:26 - trains are not the enemies. the trolley are the enemies and trespassers there..

@nicocabalhin well in his point of view the train is his enemy.

@Aupas : I go to the PI several times a year. Going next month. So many hard working, terrific people there. Especially if you're Filipino, you owe it to yourself to have a visit. Awesome beaches, beautiful women.
I agree, this was a very cool story.

AdrianHo0303 1 year ago

Courage, perseverance and above all LOVE.
krazeekd09 1 year ago 54
@krazeekd09 i agree.. you see hugely famous successful and rich movie stars here in america who feel this need to find meaning in their life. they go to things like scientology, a cult, to find it.
while the rest of us think if we only had that kind of money we would be truely happy, they show us its not the case
lejink 1 year ago
@krazeekd09
You have it so correct. Wealth does not bring one happiness nor love of family.
