why didnt you just get an alienware area51 with six core 4.6ghz cpu dual gtx 590's and a 3tb hard drive for like half the price and double the preformance
I just watched 2 minutes of some guy talking about 3 inch difference in size...felt like the swimming pull locker back when I was 12...back then when kids were comparing sizes.
that's no Pc to iMac compassion.

render a complex frame and you'll see the difference...
you'll need a system that actually uses 100% of your cpu like win 7 on the pc

There is currently no 16 core processor out, even with hyperthreading. The highest you can get is 12 hyperthreaded cores using a 970x,980x, or 990x processor. What is so flawed in this test is the fact that the i7 920 shown at the top of the list for PC is running at base clock speed. Anyone who owns a PC and cares about this stuff would overclock their CPU, which you CANNOT do on a MAC. If that chip was overclocked to something like 4.5GHz, it'd easily get close to 10,000.
Build a PC with the 2000 dollars you spent on that iMac and I will tear your computer apart Performance wise. You can't compete with an overclocked i7 Sandy Bridge with 32 Gbs of RAM and a 420GTX Cyclone.
Hi Apple Soldier. You have a very fine computer there and I understand, that you have to justify the extremly high price, you payed for it. I must admit, that your system runs out my Phenom2 X6 1090 by far in Cinebench 11.5. But that is not very surprising. Mac´s are specially desinged and optimised for rendering. PC´s have to do EVERY work, they are expected to do by there user. Foolish or not.
But at Geekbench my machine makes easily 9050 Points. To be fair, I didn´t ran other software in back
I don't want to be "that guy" but if you knew what you where talking about you would know that a i7 920 is only a single quad core with hyper treading; that means it is only capable of 8 virtual cores :b Also what you didn't do is go into individual results that show quad core and hexacore PC's benching over 24,000, yes individual results consist of high OC'd CPU's but that's a perk to PC's. This is retarded.. At the same price that the mac costs, you can build ~25% faster computer with a pc. Thats just a fact. Yes Mac is easier to use and that is the reason why people buy it. But people who know something about computers would never buy a Mac..
@Pecosan84 Lots of people (Like me) buy macs because windows makes us want to cut our brains out with rusty razor blades. OSX is a far superior OS IMO. Yes, even better than windows 7. Just my opinion.
@craig3008 frustration to you becuz you SUCK. mac fanboy!! pc are cheaper and faster. so i could put the extra $1200! ! !! in my pocket. akkakak that mean you SUCK hahahah!!! yeah. let them eat your money!!

@TheSalatar yeah mac may look nice and stuff but when i build my pc. i use high quility stuff and never go over 1k. and you know what. whatever mac can do, pc can do too. so why throw away you extra 1k?
@KoolJust4U thats not true at all, however, whatever pc can do, mac can do, pc is not as fast, and the programs on mac kick the shit out of pc programs, like final cut and thousands of other features
@TheSalatar yeah mac may look nice and stuff but when i build my pc. i use high quility stuff and never go over 1k. and you know what. whatever mac can do, pc can do too. so why throw away you extra 1k?
@Dysanfel lol, your calling mac a mercedes? in looks yes but in performance...well, you only buy macs when you want to impress a girl because of its sleek design on the "no big-ass cpu" stuff. other than that, pc's are way better, and cheaper one at that and BTW, kia's and hyundais are no longer shit cars, they are on par with most german and japanese brands out there
@pcbb01 You are so full of shit, in what sense pc's are better??? in performance the way they are designed, and how their programs perform are way superior than pc's, in order to have a pc that performs like a Mac you need to spend the 2 grand also, because most pc's are trash.
@maximus10463 not really, its Apple who are the ones that are full of shit and so are you, overpriced flashy gadgets that you only buy for the "style" factor..and you are wrong, PC's can exceed the performance of macs with less money
@pcbb01 You need a screen to play Crysis. I need a screen with a good color gamut with epeat gold certification that auto adjust itself during its lifespan to mantain the fucking same color gamut. THAT's why Macs are more expensive.
You just can't understand what REAL quality means because you don't need it.
@mat5813 That autoadjusts itself because you're too lazy to adjust it yourself? lmao that's what it sounds like to me, and besides, my 21.5" led dell screen doesn't need adjusting, I have it at the perfect settings for any time of the day. I own a $1499 imac, and honestly imacs are pieces of shit with their laptop gpus, the only macs that are good are the mac pros, and they're over $2600 with tax included. even at that, my $800 dell is still a bit faster. once i get my 6870 ill blow the mac away
@pcbb01 finally someone who realizes just because a commericial says a mac is better than it doesn't mean it really is. I agree 100% with you. my $800 dell with a radeon hd 5770, 8 gigs of ram, 1.5tb hdd, and an i7 870 would smash any imac, and I'm on par with the $2500 mac pro. Macs are all sleek and shiney, but no power underneath, atleast not if you only plan on spending a grand.
CNET already ran independent benchmarking tests showing Snow Leopard getting annihilated by Windows 7 in a direct head-to-head performance on the same macbook Pro.
if W7 kills SL on a Mac, then logic would dictate that the superior PC hardware we all take for granted would totally outclass the entire Mac lineup with ease.
The top 5 Cinebench computers are all PCs with scores in the 20s. The best the 12-Core Mac Pro could muster was an embarrassing 15.7.
@TheUberDeity You're preaching to the choir. I was only saying that geekbench isn't considered a viable benchmark program. Also Geekbench outputs erroneous results that favor Mac's and that the software is funded by Apple.
.
I guess that's why Mac users almost always rely solely on geekbench.
I know. I'm just sayin'. The results were pretty bad. And yes, I agree. It's like reading Nintendo Power when we were kids, expecting an unbiased review.
@TheUberDeity If I ran benchmarks all day long I would definitely build my own PC. Unfortunately for me, I actually do work on my Mac. I have a Dell with similar specs at the office and my Mac destroys it in every category in real world work.
Aaaaaaand with that, you prove your tech-illiteracy simply by mentioning "Dell" in the same comment as "benchmarks."
Try to build a system that's actually worthy of the dollar amount you've spent, son. So far you're 2 for 2 on the suckage scale by using both Dell, and a Mac.
The best running computers in the world are PCs, and that will never, ever change, until the end of time. Doubt me? Why did Windows 7 beat Snow leopard in a CNET direct head-to-head test?
That's unusual, I ran geekbench some time ago on my i7 920 on stock multipliers and had in excesses of 9000pts, after overclocking the processor and memory I nearly had 12,000pts. Just saying, don't have to believe if you don't want to.
What i can say is you are an apple fan boy totaly :D... Im no pc fan boy nor a mac but here is one thing that differes a MAC is a PC! Now what? Yes take your motherboard out google it out buy it at 70% less price take ur ram out buy it at 70% less price, the ati you got in is 60$ retail lol! Buy a 260 gtx get a custm ktext so my point is mac is EXTREMLY overprice junk! The OS X is a different story i love it! So buy all parts of a mac retail set it up install osx and i have 1500$ in my pocket!
@MegaKeeperApp I was in denial like you too. When I went back to my old Win machine and crushed on me, I realized how much more Mac was stable. I think you are denying it.
@FatasMe But aren't Macs supposed to be extremely easy to use? Come on, think a little bit. You apparently support Apple, yet you just proved through your post that one of the apparent key features of the Mac is that it is so "easy" to use. Stupid really. Go to exit out of a program, hit the X or Red button, but wait, there's more! You have to also use Command-Q! Start thinking Apple fanboys and supporters, and stop having Apple think for you.
@PCWarrior55 Easy to use for people who know how to use it and who don't find pressing Command-Q THAT difficult like you do. I mean, I can close the program as fast as you can with a mouse. Idk whats so difficult about Com-Q? Your PC is probably designed and drawn out on a Mac...sooo yeah. Why? Because of reliability.
@FatasMe Again, easy to use for people who know how to use it. Isn't that like everything? Apparently not, according to you, I thought, again, that that was Apple's biggest selling point with the Mac's. Oh, and I never said Command-Q itself was hard, but the mentality behind it is kinda illogical. You decided to put them together, which doesn't surprise me with people like you. And what part about my PC would've been designed on a Mac?
@FatasMe Well, you see, there's this awesome thing about PC's where you don't have to use Alt-F4. You can hit the X, and wow, it actually exits out of the program, instead of Macs having both the X (Red dot) and having to use Command-Q, that is what is illogical. What's the point in having the red dot if you just have to use Command-Q anyway. With PC's it does the same whichever one you choose. Still wondering what part of my computer is drawn out on a Mac...
@PCWarrior55 As being more stable system, developers use Macs. That's what I meant by my comment. And really, are we really going the "Windows vs. Unix" route? I don't know the origin of the CMD+Q, but you look like knowledgeable person so why don't you tell us the true meaning, how it became, why it became etc.
@FatasMe I beg to differ. Windows is built on C and C#, the latter being a Microsoft created language. From that I would say that the OS's I have used are created using PC's. I am in the field of Computer Engineering, and I know for a fact that majority of development of large scale programs and such is done primarily on Windows, with Mac's doing a lot of web page development. If you look at a lot of programs, they are built on C#, which is Microsoft based, and not easily Mac compatible.
@FatasMe I won't go the Windows vs Unix route, because in all honesty, I am a supporter of Linux as well as Windows, but I'm not talking about the Unix aspect of Mac, cause the logical parts of the Mac are the Unix base. The illogical parts are what Apple has thrown in, such as the red button for closing windows when you have to use cmd-q anyways, the fact that you can't click one button to maximize windows and things like that that aren't thought about very well.
@kempyboi123 Ya, it's called click and drag, I know that. I have used Mac's before, and not blindly. I made sure I took a run through of them so that I knew for a fact how idiotic they are. So, you have to click and drag, not just hit the maximize button. I would rather be able to hit Windows+Up and then Ctrl+'+' to zoom in and maximize than have to stretch the corners in an attempt to fill the screen, and hit the green button to zoom. Oh, and where did I say anything about not being able to max
@kempyboi123 You Mac fanboys and making shit up. It's very amusing. Kind of annoying at times, but hey, I'm used to it after watching some of AppleSoldier's videos.
@FatasMe Hate the fact that I have to write an essay preyty much using multiple responses, my apologies. Just like with Alt-F4, I have no problem with Command-Q. They both serve to exit out of a program, which is totally fine. But the fact that the red button only serves to exit a window, and not stop the executable from always running is the dumb part. Why have it there? Hopefully one of you Apple people can let me know the reason why, if Apple told you at all.
@kempyboi123 Just curious if you are giving an example, or using that as an argument, asking me if that's what happens. I have had to use the occasional Mac, and this is part of the reason of my dislike of them. From my experience, I would hit the red button to exit out of Safari, only to have Safari still have all of the webpages up when I went back into it, fully loaded up, so it never closed the application.
@FatasMe But aren't Macs supposed to be extremely easy to use? Come on, think a little bit. You apparently support Apple, yet you just proved through your post that one of the apparent key features of the Mac is that it is so "easy" to use. Stupid really. Grow the fuck up and stop spamming BS just because you know your wrong.
And get a mac, having a dick in you constantly is probably bad for your health.
You are a fuckin faggot. This is the product of inbreeding my friends. You have absolutely no friends and you should kill yourself. Go eat a dick you bitch-ass and go have sex with your pet chicken you fag ass whore bitch fuckin assfucker bitch. Go fuck a goat you red neck pc hatin dumbass. Nobody likes you so you should take your dad's dick out of your mouth and shove all of your apple shit down your throat and buy a real computer that you can watch your animal porn on. HOMO FUCK
Nice vid, but all that useless exaggeration messed up the video (even if that was for fun) Mac is better than PC (for many reasons) and PC is better than Mac (for many reasons), so that last comment was kinda wrong. Anyways, great vid, and I really envy all that setup you've got. Damn, that Mac Pro... and then that iMac. These things look awesome, and are fun to use.
@AppleSoldier dude if you are making tons of money, go out man, have fun.. dont sit around talking to yourself and to your 'fast' computer.. I have a faster computer than you but i keep it to myself plus what your showing me is rookie stuff.. long way to go buddy..

nvm... 2.8GHZ i7 and Snow Leopard... ya i could see that making up the difference in the scores.... Even though i believe imacs are mobile processors, like the rest of the parts in them... Most likely Snow Leopard made the big difference in the numbers here... i'm installing snow leopard on that machine next week.. I'll post back new numbers for comparison.
this seems a little odd, apple soldier scored 7803 in geek bench ( 32 bit ).
I bench Marked a 2009 Mac Pro with the Xeon W3520 ( 2.6GHZ Nahleam ) with 6GB DDR3 1066MHZ ECC FB-DIMM, and OS X 10.5.8! (geekbench 32 bit )
Overall = 7761
interger = 6492
Floating point = 12444
memory = 3816
Stream = 3707
Didn't watch full video, skipped to benchmarks.. does your imac have OS X 10.6? and what processor? eitherway isn't it mobile i7 in imac? Thats fucked!
comparing the i7 920 in your tests which is 2.66ghz and your 2.93ghz i7 iMac was extremely dumb you know. They created a thing that is called google boy, to do some specs research before doing biased tests like that.
You should change your name to "applesucker"...and i'm writing this on Snow Leopard 10.6.3...which runs natively on my pc!
I did not know there was a difference between a 27 inch and a 30 inch display. And guess what! The difference is 3!!!!!!! And we also landed on the Moon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
that test should b run booting in Windows cuase when you choose pc it thinks the scores are based on windows and windows 7 requires more resources. Install Windows 7 and re try the test i want to know the results plz
buuuuuuuuu that is low score my dads costume pc score was 20366 and he haves dual i7 extreme and 2 hard drives 15000 rpm for documents and an ssd for the operating system 24 gig of ram 2200 and dual ATI grafics dont know what kind and water cooling system and he say that he can put OSeX on it and he sead it cost around 4000 plus Screens 3000 = 1 extreme pc + 3 30" Monitors = The Shit and i have a 21.5 iMac that some time it fucken goes slow please tell how to stop that. nice video
the magic mouse is cool i like its design and stuff and works good but.........it aint comfortable i use a 30$ trust comfort carbon with my old 2006 imac cus i also dont like the mighty mouse i love apple but their mices aint so good
Why do you need all of those computers??! One Mac is pretty limited as it is...and you obviously don't use computers for any serious purposes as you like a keyboard without a numpad..
And how about getting some higher speed RAM cause 1066 is the lowest stock speed you can get in DDR3...oh wait! you can't get decent speed RAM in a Mac because Apple wants to use cheap parts! ...and because DDR3 has higher latency than DDR2, you might as well be running some shitty DDR2 modules..
You can't compare latency between DDR2 and DDR3 modules. Latency refers to how man clock cycles it takes before the ram memory is accessed, and obviously a faster clock speed results in more clock cycles at a certain amount of time, so in reality a higher cas latency on a higher clocked DDR3 still consumes less time than a lower cas latency on a lower clocked DDR2 module.
The Lynnfields also support 1333mhz DDR3 to give more bandwidth for dual channel, so iMacs can support it.
oh wait who has wires now... Think about how much cheeper do u think a custom pc is compared to the peice of crap mac pro... and keep in mind i have a mac pro also. I am love my pc way more. Although my field of work has to deal with alot of pc software and i dont like VMs... so anyway get to it make a video of that
The Core i7 on the benchmarks page wasn't 16 core it was an 8 core with hyper-threading with 16 logical cores as opposed to physicals ones - Your iMac has it to.
also you cannot compare windows benchmarks and mac os benchmarks since thats a different OS software architecture.

@cakelover33 Yup, WAY cheaper. You have an LED back-lit display with your computer built into the display? Your comparing your KIA to a Mercedes.
Dysanfel 1 year ago
@Dysanfel lol, your calling mac a mercedes? in looks yes but in performance...well, you only buy macs when you want to impress a girl because of its sleek design on the "no big-ass cpu" stuff. other than that, pc's are way better, and cheaper one at that and BTW, kia's and hyundais are no longer shit cars, they are on par with most german and japanese brands out there
pcbb01 1 year ago
@pcbb01 You are so full of shit, in what sense pc's are better??? in performance the way they are designed, and how their programs perform are way superior than pc's, in order to have a pc that performs like a Mac you need to spend the 2 grand also, because most pc's are trash.
maximus10463 1 year ago
@maximus10463 not really, its Apple who are the ones that are full of shit and so are you, overpriced flashy gadgets that you only buy for the "style" factor..and you are wrong, PC's can exceed the performance of macs with less money

@pcbb01 You need a screen to play Crysis. I need a screen with a good color gamut with epeat gold certification that auto adjust itself during its lifespan to mantain the fucking same color gamut. THAT's why Macs are more expensive.
You just can't understand what REAL quality means because you don't need it.
That's why Macs are computers and PCs are toys.
Windows 7 >$500
OS X Lion $23
mat5813 7 months ago
@mat5813 That autoadjusts itself because you're too lazy to adjust it yourself? lmao that's what it sounds like to me, and besides, my 21.5" led dell screen doesn't need adjusting, I have it at the perfect settings for any time of the day. I own a $1499 imac, and honestly imacs are pieces of shit with their laptop gpus, the only macs that are good are the mac pros, and they're over $2600 with tax included. even at that, my $800 dell is still a bit faster. once i get my 6870 ill blow the mac away
Jetman082 7 months ago
@mat5813 no version of windows 7 is 500 bucks
steven4570 6 months ago
@pcbb01 finally someone who realizes just because a commericial says a mac is better than it doesn't mean it really is. I agree 100% with you. my $800 dell with a radeon hd 5770, 8 gigs of ram, 1.5tb hdd, and an i7 870 would smash any imac, and I'm on par with the $2500 mac pro. Macs are all sleek and shiney, but no power underneath, atleast not if you only plan on spending a grand.

Wow, you ran geekbench.
.
Geekbench is sponsored by apple and no one uses it because it is designed to output erroneous results.
.
Run a real benchmark please.
nicholsml 1 year ago
@nicholsml
TheUberDeity 1 year ago
@TheUberDeity You're preaching to the choir. I was only saying that geekbench isn't considered a viable benchmark program. Also Geekbench outputs erroneous results that favor Mac's and that the software is funded by Apple.
.
I guess that's why Mac users almost always rely solely on geekbench.
nicholsml 1 year ago
@nicholsml
I know. I'm just sayin'. The results were pretty bad. And yes, I agree. It's like reading Nintendo Power when we were kids, expecting an unbiased review.
TheUberDeity 1 year ago
@TheUberDeity If I ran benchmarks all day long I would definitely build my own PC. Unfortunately for me, I actually do work on my Mac. I have a Dell with similar specs at the office and my Mac destroys it in every category in real world work.
Dysanfel 1 year ago
@Dysanfel

FatasMe 1 year ago
@FatasMe But aren't Macs supposed to be extremely easy to use? Come on, think a little bit. You apparently support Apple, yet you just proved through your post that one of the apparent key features of the Mac is that it is so "easy" to use. Stupid really. Go to exit out of a program, hit the X or Red button, but wait, there's more! You have to also use Command-Q! Start thinking Apple fanboys and supporters, and stop having Apple think for you.
PCWarrior55 1 year ago
@PCWarrior55 Easy to use for people who know how to use it and who don't find pressing Command-Q THAT difficult like you do. I mean, I can close the program as fast as you can with a mouse. Idk whats so difficult about Com-Q? Your PC is probably designed and drawn out on a Mac...sooo yeah. Why? Because of reliability.
FatasMe 1 year ago
@FatasMe Again, easy to use for people who know how to use it. Isn't that like everything? Apparently not, according to you, I thought, again, that that was Apple's biggest selling point with the Mac's. Oh, and I never said Command-Q itself was hard, but the mentality behind it is kinda illogical. You decided to put them together, which doesn't surprise me with people like you. And what part about my PC would've been designed on a Mac?
PCWarrior55 1 year ago
@PCWarrior55 Oh, Command-Q is illogical and Alt-F4 isn't?
FatasMe 1 year ago
@FatasMe Well, you see, there's this awesome thing about PC's where you don't have to use Alt-F4. You can hit the X, and wow, it actually exits out of the program, instead of Macs having both the X (Red dot) and having to use Command-Q, that is what is illogical. What's the point in having the red dot if you just have to use Command-Q anyway. With PC's it does the same whichever one you choose. Still wondering what part of my computer is drawn out on a Mac...
PCWarrior55 1 year ago
@PCWarrior55 As being more stable system, developers use Macs. That's what I meant by my comment. And really, are we really going the "Windows vs. Unix" route? I don't know the origin of the CMD+Q, but you look like knowledgeable person so why don't you tell us the true meaning, how it became, why it became etc.
FatasMe 1 year ago
@FatasMe I beg to differ. Windows is built on C and C#, the latter being a Microsoft created language. From that I would say that the OS's I have used are created using PC's. I am in the field of Computer Engineering, and I know for a fact that majority of development of large scale programs and such is done primarily on Windows, with Mac's doing a lot of web page development. If you look at a lot of programs, they are built on C#, which is Microsoft based, and not easily Mac compatible.
PCWarrior55 1 year ago
@FatasMe I won't go the Windows vs Unix route, because in all honesty, I am a supporter of Linux as well as Windows, but I'm not talking about the Unix aspect of Mac, cause the logical parts of the Mac are the Unix base. The illogical parts are what Apple has thrown in, such as the red button for closing windows when you have to use cmd-q anyways, the fact that you can't click one button to maximize windows and things like that that aren't thought about very well.
PCWarrior55 1 year ago
@PCWarrior55 * you can click one button to maximise windows. Learn about mac's before you diss them fag.
kempyboi123 1 year ago
@kempyboi123 Ya, it's called click and drag, I know that. I have used Mac's before, and not blindly. I made sure I took a run through of them so that I knew for a fact how idiotic they are. So, you have to click and drag, not just hit the maximize button. I would rather be able to hit Windows+Up and then Ctrl+'+' to zoom in and maximize than have to stretch the corners in an attempt to fill the screen, and hit the green button to zoom. Oh, and where did I say anything about not being able to max
PCWarrior55 1 year ago
@kempyboi123 You Mac fanboys and making shit up. It's very amusing. Kind of annoying at times, but hey, I'm used to it after watching some of AppleSoldier's videos.
PCWarrior55 1 year ago
@FatasMe Hate the fact that I have to write an essay preyty much using multiple responses, my apologies. Just like with Alt-F4, I have no problem with Command-Q. They both serve to exit out of a program, which is totally fine. But the fact that the red button only serves to exit a window, and not stop the executable from always running is the dumb part. Why have it there? Hopefully one of you Apple people can let me know the reason why, if Apple told you at all.
PCWarrior55 1 year ago
@PCWarrior55 So if for example firefox is downloading it closes the window but doesn't stop it downloading.
kempyboi123 1 year ago
@kempyboi123 Just curious if you are giving an example, or using that as an argument, asking me if that's what happens. I have had to use the occasional Mac, and this is part of the reason of my dislike of them. From my experience, I would hit the red button to exit out of Safari, only to have Safari still have all of the webpages up when I went back into it, fully loaded up, so it never closed the application.

FAIL
MrStecman 1 year ago
You can't compare latency between DDR2 and DDR3 modules. Latency refers to how man clock cycles it takes before the ram memory is accessed, and obviously a faster clock speed results in more clock cycles at a certain amount of time, so in reality a higher cas latency on a higher clocked DDR3 still consumes less time than a lower cas latency on a lower clocked DDR2 module.
The Lynnfields also support 1333mhz DDR3 to give more bandwidth for dual channel, so iMacs can support it.
I'm a mac user.
