The difference is that FMA does NOT follow the manga and FMA Brotherhood DOES. You can start with either one. It really doesn't matter. I had started with FMA but then began to read the manga and was totally confused till I watched FMA Brotherhood. So, if you're reading the manga, watch FMA Brotherhood first. If you're not, then watch FMA first and then go on to FMA Brotherhood. That way you can compare and contrast. Then you can draw your own opinion on which one is better. *co

I'll admit the first series was great. It felt serious with some funny moments. But at the same time Brotherhood was great too because it was a completely different story. Brotherhood is the original story written by the author. One thing I didnt like about Brotherhood is too many random goofy moments. The first series, however, I feel like they totally got shat on at the end!!!!! I love this series more because of Brotherhood's ending. HOORAY for happy endings!!! EdxWinry! <3

I watched fma then fma brother hood, brother hood is way better, but this show took so much away from the main character.. He never defected his brother in a fight..come n, the only thing he had going for himself is the way he used alcamy with out a circle..then his brother luearns it too, he was not unicq anymore,

Then he never even fought any of the good villions one on one at full helth,

his brother even used the stone he was looking so cool to.
