Masha Allah, The virtue and morality promoted by Islam unite the good people of the Eastern Arab and Non Arab world. Peace be to the people of Libya and Arabia from a non Arab Muslim. I am responsible for you. you are responsible for me.
Libya should remain sovereign. The Rebels do not want NATO help. NATO knows it can't topple Gaddafi without ground forces. NATO wants to put Gaddafi in a tight spot to get oil concessions from him. Long live a free, sovereign Libya. The days of Umar el Mukhtar. Rebels can without NATO help.
I feel teary right now as I listen to this song.... reminds me of when I was in Libya. We used to listen to this on Fridays on Allibiya.fm on our way to Tripoli... very nice days. Hope they come back... when Libya's free :)
Thank you! Found this by accident by the way. I was looking for Algerian music! I never heard music from Libya before! I found this at the right time considering what is happening to Libya. Excellent!
@faroutdudes5 So, the tapes from the planes where the terrorists shouted "allahuakbar" where fabricated. Right. I love Muslims, but extremist Muslim terrorists DID bomb the twin towers. Not all Muslims are extremists.
@kittycatcarley: Yes you're right "not all Muslims are extremists", out of 1billion+ Muslims we're talking about 0.00000001% who are terrorists, but they seem to be getting 99.9% of media air time! How unfair. Truth be told, a crazy bearded man burning a flag makes better "news" than a peaceful march with Muslims carrying banners saying things like "Islam is peace" etc.
@kittycatcarley the american government obviously caused 9/11, or at the very least allowed it to happen. pull your head out of your ass and look at the evidence, its plain as day. america killed, and continues to kill more people then any other nation in the history of mankind. even hitler got his ideas from american eugenics whore margret sanger. dumbass american...
@issareign Woooowwwwww..... You are one sad conspiracy theorist. Your little beef against America doesn't change the facts that your "theory" is 100% bullshit.
Peace, love <3, have fun in your imaginary world sweetheart.
@kittycatcarley yea, and youre a mental midget, simpleton, moron, right? i guess the former italian president, prime minister of japan, and many other scholars, you know, with education, something you lack, are also all conspiracy theorist? lol i guess you're a coincidence theorist, because three skyscrapers collapsing from 2 planes is perfectly normal. moron.
Agree. This just shows you that music is a world language. Doesn't matter if don't understand the words its enjoyable! Its funny people and countries don't fight or make war when it comes to music. Instruments and melodies like this show the whole world that Arab countries are human begins too like everyone else. And also they make good music!
MY NAME IS BEN AND AM A YEMEN JEW FROM ISRAEL' AND AM ISRAELI :)
MY ROOTS ARE COMING FROM YEMEN AND I LIKE ARABIC MUSIC VERY MUCH AND I HAVE SOME ARAB FRIENDS. THE R NOT BAD'ITS JUST A DIFFRENT CULTURE AND U HAVE TO LERAN THE ARABIC CULTURE AND EVERYTHING IS OK. LETS MAKE PEACE PPL... 'LEAVE THE WARS FOR OTHERS BROTHERS.
@faroutdudes5 Corrupted ? You are despicable people. I've seen reports of tortured, starved, enslaved, scalded, domestic servants coming from Arab countries all my life. You routinely treat the less fortunate as slaves - especially if they are not Arab or muslim. I've seen your unusual brutality in my own country where Arabs refuse to be neighborly. Apparently you even do it to your fellow Arabs - remember Saddam in the 80's ? That said I think some of you are decent people. Beautiful music too
@tyty1794 This was said quite some time ago. I will not let you slander me. I do not hate you or your countries. You, actually, are being quite defensive. My "People" as you call it, are indeed despicable, but I am not one of them. I do not show hate for anything or anyone. If you are referring to me being American.
If you are referring me to Arab, I am not, however my ancestry does have Turkish in it :)
@sihaanm: sorry, my Arabic is only basic so translating will be almost impossible. Maybe if you ask really nicely someone else might translate for you :-)
@xomfgxitsxaquax To be more accurate it is a Traditional Libyan Music, and not simillar to other middle eastren music. Since this kind of music has Andalucian origins, it exists only in the north african countries. u can find a similar tones in Morroco with slight differences.
'Popular among some theosophists, proponents of Afrocentric theories of history, and adherents of esoteric Christianity is the conjecture that amen is a derivative of the name of the Egyptian god Amun (which is sometimes also spelled Amen). Some adherents of Eastern religions believe that amen shares roots with the Sanskrit word, aum. There is no academic support for either of these views.' Source Wikipedia
The word amen can also be traced to a hebrew word meaning truly, loyalty or placing faith within. Christianity, Islam, and Judaism all follow the god of Abraham and it makes sense there would be similarities.
Greetings from an Australian teenager! I love Traditional "Eastern" Music, whether it be from Africa all the way to India. Its got such a great flavour
This type of music is known as Maluf. It originated in Andalusia Spain when the Muslims ruled most of Spain. When the Muslims were expelled some of them went to N.Africa and took this music with them. Morocco, Tunisia & Algeria also have similar style of Maluf music although known by different names in those countries.
The artist that sung the song in my video is called Hassan Arabi. There r many groups in Libya who sing Maluf, but Hassan Arabi and his group are one of the most well known.
Such a nice song and remarkable performance. I love the andalucian heritage. I'm thankful for Hasan Arebi for all his work and his dedication to keep this heritage.
one more thing, I thought that traditional arab music lacks any 'symphonic' compositions. Correct me if I'm wron.. and if so, could you provide me some artists names? :) Many, many thanks in advance.
Ya Gazalan means "Oh Gazelle", and it compares a woman to the Gazelle, which is a small swift graceful antelope of Africa and Asia having lustrous eyes and a slender frame.
This poem is very old and has roots in Andalusia, Spain when the Arabs ruled.
I really like this music. Is there a place where I can get this song (cd or online)? Also, what is the name of the song and performer? I have seen many people ask this but never a clear response in English. Thanks and I appreciate you posting.

The word "Amen", used in all 3 major monotheistic faiths, is an appealation to the Egyptian god Amen.

I really like this music. Is there a place where I can get this song (cd or online)? Also, what is the name of the song and performer? I have seen many people ask this but never a clear response in English. Thanks and I appreciate you posting.
