Fantastic tutorial! So glad i've found you. Fast, straight to the point, easy to understand and answered all my questions. I now know how to use ultrabeat wooo! Cheers dude :D
I did everything you said, but once ultrabeat comes up it doesnt say default there's just a little "-" and I click it and there's no other tupe pof drums it doesn't even say default. please help? :c
is the sound of the drums playing from logic out your speakers? if not how do u run it back into your screen recording software as well as the mic? (i want to start making tutorials)
nice vid. but how would i edit.. lets say my kick to how i want it but keep the original on i.e how do i edit kits without over righting it?? but saving the edited one?
Dude, Thanks for ur tutorial but you need to keep the two red bars on the bottom left from turning red by moving the sliders down or your monitors wil clip...
Hey awesome vid! It was easy to follow, and to the point. Thanks for saving me hours of reading boring books. Here's a quick question though: If I don't want to use the sample sounds that comes with Ultrabeat and wanted to use another set of samples from a library I bought, where do I have to go to change the samples? Is it that little "load sample window"? Let me know when you get a chance! Thanks dude. :)
Damn, this was so friggin helpful. I was looking for a fruityloops like program on the Mac and had no clue about that button in the UltraBeat instrument that does exactly that only way better, because as you said, UltraBeat at first glance looks absolutely terrible. I have yet to find one tutorial that was as to the point as this one, and easy to follow. Much appreciated brotha.
Thank you so much, your video gave me some great insight, I just got logic 9 and Im just getting into drum programing though Ive been a singer/songwriter for awhile, trying to do something new, so once again thank you
Cool video, is there a way to empty the ultrabeat step sequencer instead of having default beats made for each kit? And also can you load your own wav audio samples to use in it?
quick question, may be stupid but fuck it. been working on making my own hip hop beats with logic 9 express. got a THX yeti usb microphone and i was wondering if you need an audio interface if your midi keyboard is a USB?
This video is great except, Logic is giving me fits - whenever I try to create a new software inst. track, it automatically makes it a stupid electric piano setting, and when I click on I/O, no option for ultrabeat appears....any suggestions? Isn't Ultrabeat supposed to be standard with Logic 9???
seems like it takes 10 minutes to build one kit in ultrabeat. can you select multiple samples at once in a folder and drag them all over into ultrabeat. or do you have to add one sample at a time?
ha ha. you pretty much gave away the farm.. just kidding. there were no videos like this on youtube when I spent a long while learning ultra-beat.. it was SO funny hearing your comments of the "intimidation" factor.. definitely caused flash-backs
yah this is sweet there were a few things i was confused about but this cleared it up!
what i know would be really helpful to me personally is if you went through the making of a whole song with all the layers and steps and stuff, just to show how its done :D

TheGongshow12 7 months ago
@TheGongshow12
The sound card in your computer is not good for audio recording.External audio interface is better.
Technically you can record with your mic and midi with usb, but the sound is not pro.And you probably may run into latency issues or noise dropouts.
