    Kristian Oma Rønnes

  • absolutely fantastic

  • Our school orchestra did this son for our end o the year concert and it was absolutely amazing

  • what kind of bassoon is that

  • It just brings joy to my heart to see such young talent. Excellent performance.

  • That was a great performance, love it,2nd mov was very touching and the 3rd was great too ,i'm glad to see so young instrumentist with such great skill,i play the basoon for 5 years but i think that this kid will surpace me any minute nuw:)),anyway, great performance,;)thumbs up.

  • he plays so way,, really amazed ,, i am now 14 and i started to play the bassoon from 10,, he's tone is just beautiful<3 love it

  • he was 12 when I was 12 but unfortunately I didn't start playing the bassoon when I was 10 (rather a month ago) .

  • Wow very impressive. I hope he keeps it up. I play the bassoon and I can tell you there is a need for good and very talented bassoonist.

    Keep it up!

  • oUo so pretty

I am also 12 years old and play the bassoon (which has a very beautiful sound). I only can dream that I play this well. I have also been playing bassoon for about 2 years now,but wow, this kid must practice a lot :3

I don't have the advantage of practicing a lot considering I live in an apartment, but I really do try.

Congrats James, you are now my role model for playing the bassoon :3

  • @KCrMix Keep playing, dude. I'm gonna upload more videos. I'm 18 now, but I still play. The bassoon is an EXCELLENT instrument, and I hope more people learn it. Good luck, please send me a message if you feel like it :)

  • He is good, im 12 and i have been playing since last year. I can play the fisrt second and third movements of this piece. But the third movement is only at 132 i think it is supposed to be 152, i cound be wrong.

  • @CheeseyCrackers12345 I played it more slowly than than it actually is. I don't have the music but you are probably more or less correct.

  • What a fantastic present for your mother!!!

I need to congratulated both of you, you for playing the instrument so well and your mum for producing a talented and fantastic musician

  • wow, the technical fluidity is really great for his age. most professional bassoonists didn't really get focused until around age 13

  • Bravo.

  • child prodigy, i really hope he is still playing, i can't find anything on the internet of where he is now...

  • Great job!!..

  • Wonderfully played. Did he have any musical training or play any instruments before starting to play the bassoon?

  • Very nicely played!!!

    This is the talented one!

  • u must give him credit, bassoon is a very difficult instrument for various reasons, and for a 12 yr old to be able to play at least that level of music is still very impressive... so as a fellow bassoon player, i salute you

  • amazing

  • The beginning is quite frightening to me but then he stables out. And then there is that big blip in the first movement. Ok I will stop pointing the negative out it is a 3/5 performance. He needs to work on his technique. But I do agree his intonation is pretty good for a 12 year old.

  • His technique is fine for his age - he will progress wonderfully.

  • ..... Fantastic Talent, Poise and Musicality......The future of the Bassoon is in good hands.

  • Thanks for all the positive comments. As the proud papa of this boy I can say it is truly appreciated.Take a look at him 4 yrs later playing flamenco at his highschool gym.

  • After 2 years of bassoon...NO COMENT!!

  • I agree, this is absolutely amazing! Keep doing whatever you're doing with this kid, or better!

  • It is also amazing how his tenor register is really in tune! Most kids his age and a lot of bassoonists are so flat in that range. I am still amazed!

  • This is amazing for a 12 year old! Great job! Nice round tone, good finger movement, proper posture and blowing technique. Wow!
