  • dob howard (:

  • Thumbs up if you come here from muse drum cover videos

  • Hey, I got one, too... How can I keep Rust away?

  • @FullForceDrummer Use WD-40 on a rag and wipe over

  • @gingcrf450 What do you mean with "on a rag", Sorry, i am from Germany and don't know what you mean, and yes, I asked Google ;)

  • @FullForceDrummer sorry "rag" is english slang for a cloth or similar.

  • @gingcrf450 Aaaah, good to know! Thank you so much for the tip!

  • @gingcrf450 I have to say... i've cleaned it with WD40 a few years ago and the crasher lost sound. i was pissed.

and then a friend made a homemade crasher, made out of stainless steel plates, and it completely blew my mind. his crasher was MUCH louder.

  • @JohnFriglia ok thanks man another question, i live in colombia, do you know some store where they sell the ribbon crasher and bring to my house

  • i have a question for what do you use that thing when you play drums for efects o for what

  • @yoper54 there are many types of use for the ribbon. The main use is as a crash, expecially for short riding effect or for trashy and rapid accents (as a stack). It can be used also as a "metallic" snare, for jungle o electronic music. You can also play the ribbon crasher with the snare drum to create a new hybrid sound putting the ribbon near to the batter rim.

  • Hi,

did you bend the metal plates, or did you hit them right out of the box?

I'm asking this because my plates are bended way more and they produce a different sound and they don't jump up when i hit them.

  • @GueDrum Hi, I've not bent the metal plates, this is its "free" real sound. I've also tried to bent the metal plates in the past with two elastic bands: the sound was shorter, less trashy, more closed and the metal plates didn't jump as in this video obviously ;)

  • where can i getjust the mount because i cant find it anywhere

  • John, thanks for posting this.

Sam Fogarino (Interpol) is using one in his recent drum setup. Can you tell me if he is using an 11" or 15"?

If you have a couple of minutes, please search for "interpol jimmy kimmel live 2010" on YouTube. The songs are Barricade and Summer Well. YouTube will not let me paste the links in my comments...

    Thanks!

  • @thinktriplets Hi! It seems to be the 11" one.

  • the drummer from muse uses one of these and it he wanted to dampen it so he stuck some gummy bears to it!!

  • @elmothesex he does? :D

  • How much is this ribbon crasher?

  • @PicoRiveraCalifornia guitar center sells it, and so does musician's friend. Just look it up on their websites.

  • @Musefan6732 Thanks!

  • @PicoRiveraCalifornia they are like 25- 30 bucks

  • Hey would like to know what stand you have for your ribbon crasher as i've got one as well. But can't find any where. Where they will do stands.

  • @JamiePs3User Hi, is a simple percussion support (for cowbell, block, tambourine......) clamped to a cymbal stand. I don't remember the brand..... maybe Dixon.

  • Great sound,I've got both 11" and 15".

  • I like the sound of the mini china cymbal.

Please give me some details about it...

    thank you in advance

  • @Tophdu35 Hi, the mini china cymbal is a Kappa 10" handmade from china. Is similar to Wuhan/Yuwin china. I have bought this china in the italian shop called "Acustica Napoli". It's a nice cymbals with a metallic bite, high volume and fast attack. Is good also as bell cymbal. I also made some holes for rivets with fine results!
