@Flamorgan That would make since, The EX500 was running so good. All I know about them, Is what I've read, and from some videos on Youtube. Seen videos with a lot of mechanical problems, just wasn't sure how much. Sure a 750cc bike would blow them away with ease, After watching this practice vid. I wondered how an air cooled motor would fair. Some sound like a rock crusher, Dry clutch. BTW I will look for the videos, More to learn about. New to the GP race series. Just looking for a new bike.
@Flamorgan Ducati 748 (1994-2003) Rated by MCM is "103BHP "...Wikipedia says" 71 kW (95 hp) @ 11,000 rpm." That's where I seen the 748 Ducati HP. He def had a power advantage over the EX500. The Ninja was defiantly running good, Just to stay with the other bikes. Looked as if he could have passed the 748 a little. A bunch of fun, Any ways. I would liked to had a go at the track, Even a stock Ninja500r, But only with good tires. Or the 748, I Like to ride. Never rode a 600 Bandit yet, Like to !
You had to cut your speed, Or go wide on every corner, The 748 was slowing you down in the curves, He pulled away at the end of the corner, But only then. I think your 500 did real well. Was it a case of him being a novice rider, Or that he couldn't do any better. Hard to tell at times. He had 95 Hp to your 59+ depending on work done. Love to find a late model Ninja 500r in V-good condition with low miles. My EN500 LTD just can't ride like the ninja's. Ride safe, yl
Dude, was there a POINT to this vid.?? It was IMMEDIATELY obvious from the very START,that the Duck was leading in almost ALL the turns and straights without even BREATHING HEAVY!! And the few times you WERE able to squeak by it,it was only for a few seconds before the massive TORQUE of that v-twin kicked in and he passed you like you were standing STILL!! Anyhoo,I DID LOVE that tasty sound of the Kawi's exhaust note!! That made this worth watching till the end!!
I put 11K on a 250R using Pirelli MT75 tires. (I was too cheap to get BT45 tires). Anyways, I'm getting mixed reviews between the Bridgestone BT45 and Pirelli Sport Demon. Would you recommend one over the other? Also, have you noticed any pinching of the rim using a 150/70-17? I was gonna go with 140/70-17 in the rear, but if the 150 works without pinching, then I would love to have a wider contact patch. Thanks! (Note: I don't do many track days, mostly street, if that influences you one way.)
what tires did you have on the EX500? the leaning on curves is sick, doubt it you have stock tires by far, when i say stock i mean by dimension! What dimension were you running on?
@kyleaz2000 Technically yes...i also race(not on this level) and you can somewhat tell your drafting but you need to find the sweet spot of the draft then slingshot ON the curve not after....if you wait till after or on a strait almost any bike in your class can keep you from passing so passing on the corners is the best way to go
The little Ninja that could, anyone considering buying a ninja 500. DO IT!! You wont regret it. And believe it or not, girls love em. They cant tell the difference between a 99 Ninja 5 and a 2009 GSXR most of the time. (Unless they are bikers themselves)
@cmfernandez9283 hell yeah! i have a 94 ninja 5oo with a full Targa fairing kit. chicks think its a brand new bike and they all think its sexy! the 500 is perfect
love the way you could keep coming back round the outside of the 748, what tyres were you using???? i use battleaxe bt45 usually but after a total rebuild (and a few mods) ive fitted pilots for a try. ok so you didnt get past for long buy you were all over him like a bad rash... well done.
Good work boy, owning an GPZ 500 myself , just replaced the cylinder head gasket- better punch than ever since that done, doing my racing license in a month or so and will also post a vid :=)

Cool. About to pick up an 02 500 with 11k miles in good shape for $1,500. Seems like a good deal. Also have a CB1000. Sweet video.

Whats the estimated HP in current tune ? It runs great seeing it's has 248cc less.

@ylism the only power mod is muzzy pipes. assuming he didnt do the fog mod, probably 61-62hp. the fog mod adds 3-4hp, but i dunno if he did it

When you ride that close to him in the corners is that taking advantage of his draft??
