yeah, that doesn't mean shit. Hockey is a pussy sport compared to what it was like 20, 30 years ago. Sure, there are some decent hits nowadays but they aren't anything compared to what you used to get. Watch some video of Scott Stevens and Ken Daneko and you'll see what used to happen.

stevens was still playin back in the 90s round 10 years ago... hockey didnt really change till the lockout year when they rewrote a bunch of the rules.... i agree that hockey back then was different... but it was mostly different with fighting... fights now get cut short, whereas then they were allowed to go at it... hits didnt really change, except how they call em... and obviously you realize the difference with fights... look at any domi fight with probert and ones now...

yea there all legal you cant hit from behind use your elbow to hit use your stick to check and no there are no fouls there penaltys or penalty shots which are very rare a penalty shot is when you take a penalty when the persons on a breakaway which is if theres no one in front of you exept the goalie
