  • OMG!!! I'm gonna die! JT is so sexy!!!!!!

  • the rhythm and feel is a rip off of hot thing by prince, released a year before and using a linn drum similar to this

  • @jjoeuk Not even close, this tune is way too funky and upbeat, just because in your mind the beat is the same and it reminds you of another tune doesn't mean it's stolen.

Where do you think prince borrowed his dance moves from...James Brown

  • @milkfromthecoconuts this from a prince forum, not me posting it but kind of supports my view : "It's funny because on their last tour they (Duran Duran) played 2 songs in a row to a sampled loop of the the Sign o' the Times beat and John Taylor played the bass line from Hot Thing (he even told me so at an afterparty himself! I was the cameraman on a local video interview, and managed to talk to him and Nick Rhodes about Prince lol )"

  • @jjoeuk Funny, how many things people pull out of their ass on the internet, think what you want buddy, I don't give a rat's ass about prince and I know he doesn't either.

  • Not Duran's best album IMHO, but a great song nonetheless.. My other half thinks the ' I like waking up the house' bit is too try hard 1988 house music - I still think it was a brilliant single. And still loving LeBon

  • This song doesn't represent Duran. I have a feeling it was made to go along with the music of the time in the very late 80's. This is not Duran's music.

  • i love johnnnnnnnnnnn!! mmmmmmmmm cute!!!

  • To my mind, Nick is the perfect man;

Striking looks, intelligence, charm, wit, graciousness, diplomacy, enthralling to listen to, a killer voice and very sensuous.......................................

  • @tokyokomachi, can you upload this again? The sound is absolutely terrible. Sorry had to say something.

  • one of my favorites songs from this album ! i love it

  • Is that Irene Cara???

  • Love Duran Duran, probably one of my favorite songs :)

  • JT is such a liar in this video..he doesnt want my love or your love whoever love..but his eyes in this is telling me 2 things..my place or yours and where's the condoms. BTW am i the only one that found Simon hilarious in this

  • If I was alive in 85 I'd so be Johns groupie. Simon looks like he's wired from cocaine

  • @den21ell I am with on JT...oh my lord that man is bewitching.

  • Mandalina, Davina, & Linda this song is for all of you

  • うちが生まれた年だー**

  • love this song so much

  • Love this song and video. I love Sìmon's lyrics to this one in particular:

    Well, just sit down

    And shut my mouth.

    When you understand me,

You might feel good around me now.

  • Nick makes me melt.

  • ......you must realise my obsessive fasination is in your imagination....!!!

  • take this shit down. wtf? did you film it on your phone?

  • OH MY GOD! The memories!!!!

  • I know!! :)

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!! one of my all time fav. duran duran songs among the many:-)laura lynn

  • its cool!!!

  • my theme song :)

  • I am thinking this song is a good synthesis between rock and dance. "Big Thing" have a various soundtrack, like a rainbow; there is not a idea about sound, but there are great song!

  • I can't wait to see them tonight in Houston. We are so lucky after they have canceled many shows. I am glad Nick is feeling better.

  • i love this !

  • That rockin guitar solo at 2:18 is the the best!!

  • I... LOVE... DURAN DURAN!!!

  • I was never too crazy about this song when I was younger, but now that I am 16, it's one of my favourites from Duran Duran!

  • directcollision: lol...you're 16...you ARE younger.... The song predates your birth! You're not supposed to like adult songs when you're 10.

  • dude im 17 and duran duran has been my favorite band

  • I'm 15 and I'm still crazy of Duran Duran.

  • This was such a good album... unfortunately, not a good period for Duran Duran's hair + fashion. *cough* 6ix by 3hree video cover *cough*

  • last I have heard this song was before 7 years

  • For the PIG!

  • first single from Big Thing album the most underrated album ever MAX DURANFAN

  • Watch me!

  • to my ex ........... eat this

  • love this song.... tells the story well, partner doesnt understand u, until they do, and want wat u want, the way love should be, they dont want whats hurting them n breaking them down

  • I like noise cuz I like waking up the house.... ah damn it, brilliant, duran duran rocks!

  • To janet Vazquez, the bitch who broke my heart...

    I HOPE U DIE

  • my obssessive fascination...

  • NO QUIERO TU AMOR!!!!

  • Yo tampoco!

  • Muy bien traducido ;).

  • Jajajaja dejate de joder!!Sólo traducí el título de la canción que ya todos sabemos que es I don´t want your love!!jaja!Duran duran good music!!

  • Pues eso, muy bien traducido. No andaba pensando en otra cosa cuando escribí el comentario :P. ¿O en qué estabas pensando?

  • Probably a B-side from Notorious. The sound engineering space is phenomenal. That's there, this is here, those over there, these on and off and on and off: Klark Technik.

  • I love this song. I am inclined to agree that music has gone downhill. There are a small and select few bands that still make good music, and even fewer new bands that do the same. I'm 28, and I grew up when (in my opinion) the best music and best cartoons were made! :)

  • To OLDISHMUSIC and CHERSTARS:

Thanks a lot to you both for having this kind of conversations!

Our world really needs people like you.

I mean, it's terrible when you get to a video to enjoy the music and what you find is negative people with unkind or aggressive comments.

    Greetings from Mexico.

  • And thank you for posting such a nice comment! But I totally agree with you when you say that's it terrible to find your favourite song on YouTube, and all the comments are negative.

  • this song isnt the best BUT WHO CARES???!!!?? IT JOHN TAYLOR (Sigh) !!!!!!!!

  • For me it's all about Nick Rhodes in Duran Duran! Nick, in my opinion, is the sexiest guy out of them, right from when they first did Planet up to (Reach Up For The) Sunrise! In this video he is so cute, I could just jump into the video and dance with him!

  • An analogy for us grls:

    Bill Gates is to...money

    as

    John Taylor is to...HOTNESS

As easy as that lol <3

  • i can honestly say he's the original JT. he brings sexy back and again. evrytime. again, hotness to the core. grr

  • They are my boys! Too bad Andy dumped them-again!

  • In San Juan Le Bon Looked at me like Im used to being looked at! UUUUUUU!

  • John Taylor.. my first older man crush. when i was 13. God..look at him..hotness

  • JT is only 4 years older than me but OMG I still feel like a teenager whenever I think about him! he's the essence of sexiness

  • Again. Ahead of their time. Great music, and wish we could go back. Yah, today's top 40,american idol music is CRAP. God Bless the 80's. DD forever.

  • sound quality is bad

  • LOve Duran Duran, the drummer looks so much like ray cokes, from mtv in the 90's, obviously it ist'nt him.

  • i AGREE THE MUSIC sucks today we need to TURN BACK TIME these guys were so great our kids are so missing out on such a good era, can they cannot do wrong fantastic band! Thanx for posting xx

  • I agree too the music today is RUBBISH!!!! I love this song you just don't get music like this anymore......sad.

  • i agree

  • Almost cried with ur comment lol, I seriously regret not being born in the 80's!!!!! I love Duran Duran, I'm really obsessed with 'em haha!!! It must have been soooo damn awesome to have Duran Duran around!!! Most of today's music sucks!!!

I wish I could go back in time for just one day...eventhough it wouldn't be enough.

  • Let me tell you as a teen in the 80's it was an awesome time. The music, the style, the time was a great time to be young. I was 18 in 1984, the year Duran Duran came out big. They were hot then and and they are now but especially then, lol. John was my MAN with his hair that looked like mine, lol. Big hair was it for guys and girls... what an awesome time.

  • I hear ya! I always say that when I die and go to heaven, it's going to be 1985 all over again, and I'm going to have some VERY big hair! I think I'll ditch the parachute pants, though.

  • I'm 12, and there are quite a few kids like me who are obsessed with 70s and 80s! Yeah we may be called weird, but we know the meaning of GOOD MUSIC! Duran Duran, Tears For Fears, Blondie, ABBA Roxy Music, Human League, Talking Heads, and so many more bands and singers (can't forget the amazing David Bowie or Kate Bush!) are right up there! Today's music can be burnt for all I care!

  • Good for you I am so happy to hear that, you have a good ear not like some kids today they won't even give it a listen to and they think it's cheesy. YOU ROCK KIDDO !!

  • Lol! I've grown up with my parents' style of music. But I really enjoy listening to 70s and 80s, bands like Duran Duran (Nick = BIG BIG love, lol) and Tears For Fears (don't ever forget the heart throb- Roland Orzabal) and others it makes me positive I will never like any songs from today.

  • May I adopt you? You sound wonderful and very wise too. xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • Lol! That's very kind of you to say that!

  • Well you could teach a lot to the new kids on the block these days lol. I have respect for you. :-D

  • I've tried to get my friends to like at least one 70s or 80s song. One of them now likes Shout by Tears For Fears, but that's it. Oh! And one of my other friends, he likes Everybody Wants To Rule To The World by Tears For Fears aswell.

  • I am 39 and I love 70s and 80s music, but you find good stuff being made even as we speak. I think that maybe what happened is that after the 80s too much music was like designed by the companies so it would sell. All singers and groups clones of each other. That happened before but at least they could sing and compose. Check Chris Cornell. Except for his music for Casino Royale the rest is garbage.

  • Yeah, that's probably where it all went wrong in my head. 'Cos I noticed today's music, and have grown up with the tastes of my parents, so when I hear today's music is sounds too much like the music I love (apart from the awful rapping and alike) which I feel towards. It also makes me furious when I hear copied songs from the 70s and 80s.

  • I know what you mean. The only thing worse is when they use them for commertials. Mutilated. Barf.

    LOVE Tears For Fears!

  • Totally agree with you there! But then again it shows to the audience how good the song is, then they come looking on here and find a whole bunch of songs by that band/singer.

TEARS FOR FEARS! For me the all time best bands are Tears For Fears and Duran Duran. NICK RHODES AND ROLAND ORZABAL ARE GORGEOUS! Well, Nick Rhodes is more, and still looks very good!

  • tears, duran and alphaville ;)

  • yeah!Tears4Fears are a gr8 band well were I agree with the comments about bad music nowadays.. it's so sad & I hate it when they play new versions of 80'music...Nena did something like that with her own songs really awful versions mayB only 1 was ok -my opinion- and I hated it when 6PenceNontheRicher played Crowded house dont dream it's over well at least it was a good cover but in gral I dont like 2 hear how some bands/singers massacre good 80'/90'songs they lack creativity! PS:I love NENA

  • Same here: I still remember how artists & music pretended to be "alternative", "independent" & loved "fussion" just for fun in the 1990s. The 2000s aren't making better: it's all too commercial & just too simple, nothing to do with precedent decades. To me, the 1980s were the last "Golden Age" for music (even for TV & movies).

  • Definitely!

  • Last year of good music can be argued to 1993 after 93 it pretty much went to crap. That was when the era of the boy bands and sappy crap started

  • Well, I see you're really optimistic: to me last good year woulda been 1992, LOL.

  • I dunno; that kind of record company-led "creative process" was common in the 1970s, with the bubblegum pop groups, and back in the pre-Beatles era. It goes through phases.

  • Man what a decade it was in the 80s ! Why does it suck so much now ?

  • this is from the amazing big thing, a great album. palomino, land, the edge of america, do you believe in shame

  • this is from the amazing big thing, a great album. palomino, land, the edge of america, do you believe in shame

  • like the Gang of 4 tribute

  • Big thing is one of the best album from DD , this song is so good but Land , Too late Marlene and Palomino are the best in my opinon in this album ...i love DD !!!

  • I luv DD, but I'm afraid the "Big Thing" is one of my least fave album from DD...

  • Just saw Duran Duran perform live in NZ. God damn these guys still have it after 30 years. What a great show. Love u simon. Mad Duran Fan.oxoxo

  • i love this song. if you can say people are addicted to songs, i was addicted when my class went to baja in february

  • i don't want your love.

only i want to fuck u xP

  • I love this song you can dance the way you like!! only Duran Duran can make music like this of course

  • I love this song you can dance the way you like!! only Duran Duran can make music like this of course

  • Which year is this from?

  • Del album Big thing de 1988

  • Brilliant, i agree that music from the 80's and 90's was better than, that of today.

  • I remember this like it was a few months ago.

  • catchy while at the same time having attitude and spunk-me like!

  • I don´t want your love... Andy

  • I dont need your love baby! Rythmn!!!

  • they all looks awesome in this video

  • i miss the music scene from the 80's and 90's

the music out now is such crap

  • Duran Duran is awesome!

  • John is freakin' HAAAAAWT in this video!!!

  • I second that emotion.

  • I don't think there is a time he isn't hehe

  • Not only in this vid!!! John´s ALWAYS HOT...when he breathes, sleeps, smiles, plays the bass, when he´s angry, when he's not, when...etc. etc. <3

  • Amen to that! But for some reason, this video in particular...he just does this "thing" with his eyes. Can't explain it. But then I'm sure I don't need to. YUM-MEE!! :D

  • This used to be one of my wake tracks. Now when I have it on Alarm 1, it atomatically goes to default.

  • One of my favorites. I love DD. I think Simon is so good at singing. I have a crush on him after 26 years. He kind of looks different since the new album's arrived

    Sorya

  • when he says second sight i always thought he said circumsized. but i still feel circumcision would be a better theme

  • Nick looks soooooooo sexy in this vid!!!!!

  • Their later stuff sure was a hell of alot kinkier.

  • John is the hottest!

  • This is a great song one of my favourites from the durans! They are all good looking are they not??

  • this is the first time I've seen Nick without his trademark make-up! He looks pretty unrecognizable.

  • my obsesive facsination lies in your imagination

  • simon is so damn sexy in this video!!

.... (then again he's always sexy)...

  • Great song but the sound is pretty awful. True, John is very good looking.

  • I've seen a version with batter quality and added it to my favoutites, if you mind.

  • John is one of the most gorgeous man that ever walked on this planet!!

  • much agreed.

  • It does slightly sound like a Michael Jackson-track, in my opinion. What do you think?

  • Luhuuve this band. Never heard a bad song from these sexy muthas

  • I take you've never heard anything between "The Wedding Album" and "Astronaut." And don't even get me started on "Pop Trash." It was so bad that Hollywood Records kicked them out of a multimillion dollar deal.

  • I don't know, I actually thought Medazzaland was pretty good! They had some interesting things on there, it just was more of an experimental album than anything. Pop Trash was pretty fucking boring though, you're right. Only song off of there I like is "Someone Else Not Me", it's the only song that's ever made me cry ]:

and I've heard so many horrible things about Thank You that I don't really feel inclined to give it a listen.

  • I have to agree with everyone...Warren was never a part of Duran Duran. I have all their albums but never touched them because he had played on them. Warren was not in this for the band...but for personal gain..he is so full of himself. I do not have any hard feelings against Sterling, or Wes, Or Travis. They to me didn't have alternate motives. Nick and Simon are my fave, and I would love to get them in the sack and romp around! They are as adorable in person as in the videos!

  • I like Warren. The Duran Duran is SIMPLY THE BEST BAND EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What have you read about Warren iam a big fan of his from back in the Missing Person days, from what i herd Duran went after him and he was key to the recording of the wedding album the really only sucsesfull album they have had in years. I lovbe them all i just dont get the hate tward warren he did a good job and left.

  • yeah he was a major part of constructing the song, come undone which was a major hit. why would anyone hate him? if he's good enuff for duran duran, he should be good ebuff for devoted fans.

  • Andy left DD and recruited Missing Persons members for his new band. Warren immediately presented himself to DD and was hired as Andy's replacement. When the original 5 reunited, Warren was fired, however he remains friends with the band.

  • I actually thought Warren was a pretty good replacement for Andy, although he seems to lay it on kinda thick with the "I-wanna-shred-like-Steve-Stevens" thing. But then again, so did Andy.

I bet they're probably wishing they hadn't asked Andy to come back. What was he thinking?

  • lol

  • are you joking? Warren was great! I don't know much about him as a person and I've never found him very attractive - but that doesn't change the fact that he did some really great work with DD. He's a talented guy.

  • I like noise cuz I like waksing up the house........

  • Duran Duran should have been a porn group they are all hot hot 69er all the fuken way !!!!!! !@#$@%&*

  • Digging the sax and the keyboard!

    Brilliant Duran Duran!

I don't know where I would be, without their music. It is so much different than from todays. They still sound different to everyone else and they write the best songs ever! I adore Simon and Nick. I wish Andy hadn't left. He was one of the fab ORIGINAL five!

  • I agree with you dude, andy was so ace.

  • Great song, some really pretty models in the video.

  • I Love Duran,Duran, this video is so good, i heard the song prior to seeing the video.

  • I hated Warren Cockroach.. he was NOT duran duran.. NEVER will ever compare to Andy

  • The video of it is great, great song also

  • check out Gang of Four's Is it Love? video. Duran pays tribute to them with this video.

  • this video makes nick look fuckable

  • in my opinion, nick, john and especially simon look fuckable from the time they first came onto the music scene to now, some 25 or so years later. YUM!

  • TRUER WORDS WERE NEVER SPOKEN!

  • They've done some pretty dark songs before... like Careless Memories, Planet Earth, Vertigo. But in particular, my favorites from Big thing are Too late Marlene, Land, and The Edge of America.

  • I liked the darker, more industrial feel of the post-Roger and Andy era...it really seemed like DD was trying to explore more Depeche Mode/Erasure-style territories with songs like this

  • I still think Andy is a much better guitarist than Warren.

  • Me gusta Warren, pero Andy y él tienen definitivamente estilos distintisimos.Me encanta Andy, un estilo particular... definitivamente mucho talento para estar de segundón en una banda

  • definitely one of the best videos of their post Roger and Andy era.

It's strange, but Warren Cuccurullo is even more of a shredder than Andy Taylor ever was.

I remember seeing these guys at the UIC Pavilion when they launched the Big Thing tour. They were awesome!

  • diempre lo he pensado desde que descubri la banda la conocia pero nol a habia disfrutado hasta hace unos diasjohna es todo

  • yeah whatever they said fantastic, i miss th eold days dont u?

  • si. Me parece que van a estar de gira despues del concierto de Diana. No puedo esperar más para verlos!!! Lástima Andy... es tremendo guitarrista...Me gustaria oirlos con Warren tambien.
