It is true what you say...if you lend yourself to TRUE love, which is all giving..then you WON'T break any of the ten commandments, but as a rule in general, it is best for most to abide by God's written commandments, as most of us are not set on loving constantly on a daily basis, forgetting self.

Just as you judged me incorrectly (not me really but the word of God in actuality)....we often get so wrapped up in ourselves that we forget to check ourselves. Personally, for me, the commandment to love includes far more than merely 10 commandments. It requires much more from a person and is very profound. Seek God earnestly and you will find Him. Where would you like to start? Matthew 16:28, Mark 9:1, Luke 9:27 or when he said, "Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come" in Matthew 10:23. However, many who call themselves christians are misled by these so called religions with in most cases more Dogma than true teachings of Christ. Jesus never said not to worship him. When Peter said He was the Christ (Matthew 16:16) He said not to tell anyone until after He died and was raised to life. He shows Peter James and John his glory on the mount of Transfiguration (Matthew 17:2 and Mark 9:2).

The question is what Gospel did the Disciples preach. The answer is in Acts 2 where Jeremiah 31:31 and Joel 2:27-31 were fulfilled. Again, no mention of Gentiles being preached the "Kingdom of Heaven" gospel.

1) Jesus said He would give Peter the keys to the kingdom of heaven after he said that He would build His Church on Peter also.
And if you read Matt 18:17-18 you will see that the Church according to Jesus was the highest authority and the same binding and loosing authority is with the Church as was given in Matt 16.

Jesus said his Church would be "the light of the world." He then said that "a city set on a hill cannot be hid" (Matt. 5:14).
This means his Church is a visible organization. It must have characteristics that clearly identify it .
Jesus promised, "I will build my Church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it" (Matt. 16:18). This means that his Church will never be destroyed and will never fall away from him. His Church will survive until his return.
In Matthew 5:14, Yeshua was speaking about YISRAEL -not the Catholic church. That whole sermon was about the "Kingdom of Heaven" -a gospel that wasn't preached to you or me but the Jews.
Yes it was first Preached to Jews but the message was for the whole world.
Can you show me from Scripture that the first Christians where anything other than Christians. i.e. Messianics? were does it say that they were Messianics? What verse calls them Messianics?
Also, what these Christians believed was (UNIVERSALLY) believed by those at other ends of the known world were the gospel had been preached. For instance did those in Corinth believe differing doctrine than those in Spain?
The jewish-Christians(messianic) still observed the Torah even after Christ's crucifixion. It wasn't until Paul came that the Torah became "irrelevant" -especially for Gentiles. This was when "Grace" was being introduced.
The message calls them what they were, and always has. i.e universal/Catholic. The word Catholic is the English word the Greek "Katholikos" meaning universal.

Just as you judged me incorrectly (not me really but the word of God in actuality)....we often get so wrapped up in ourselves that we forget to check ourselves. Personally, for me, the commandment to love includes far more than merely 10 commandments. It requires much more from a person and is very profound. Seek God earnestly and you will find Him. Yeshua thought he was mashiach. He did not accomplish all that mashiach was supposed to and he said he'd be back before his discipled all died. Gamliel was ecumenical and took a wait and see approach. Yeshua's 'prophecy' failed, therefore he was not mashiach. Where would you like to start? Matthew 16:28, Mark 9:1, Luke 9:27 or when he said, "Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come" in Matthew 10:23. Sounds pretty specific to me. That is why christianity was declared heretical by judaism. Before that they were just another sect of apocolyptic/messianic jews who thought the end was near and the 'world to come' was right around the corner. Jesus wasn't the first or last. Three are listed in Acts by Gamaliel.

I agree with your argument because it is a scriptural one, except for the wording Jesus was not a christian, which could be misunderstoud in many ways. As you quoted he said follow me, and to do so makes you a true christian. However, many who call themselves christians are misled by these so called religions with in most cases more Dogma than true teachings of Christ. When a follower asked Him what should he do, Yeshua told him, "Follow the commandments (then He names a few of them) "do not commit adultery, do not steal," etc. Then later he gave his apostles yet another one: love one another as I have loved you. Follow the 10 commandments God gave Moses. That will never change. Don't dillute the Truth.

vasiliosrigos - I agree that God (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) wants a relationship with his children, not buildings and rituals, idols, etc. But about that law thing - what about Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Aaron, Moses? They had relationship with God and were blessed before 10 Commandments were given. Jesus said if you have considered sinning in your heart, you have broken the Law. That's why Jesus had to die to pay for our sins - no one can keep the Law.

Notice that it was supposed to be Israel's mission to be the ambassadors and witnesses of God "to the ends of the earth". But being that they failed, God took it upon Himself in the shape and form of Jesus Christ of Nazareth to do the job through the "grafted" branch of converted gentiles whom the Jews hated and despised, instead of trying to convert as was their mission.

Mandelajustice - You are wrong. No one should tempt God, but Jesus had to be tempted to prove he was righteous, or He would not have been able to pay for our sins. If He had sinned, His death would pay for His sins, not ours.
Jesus never said not to worship him. When Peter said He was the Christ (Matthew 16:16) He said not to tell anyone until after He died and was raised to life. He shows Peter James and John his glory on the mount of Transfiguration (Matthew 17:2 and Mark 9:2).

The question is what Gospel did the Disciples preach. The answer is in Acts 2 where Jeremiah 31:31 and Joel 2:27-31 were fulfilled. Again, no mention of Gentiles being preached the "Kingdom of Heaven" gospel.

Paul was chosen to search for the scattered tribes of Yisrael from among the gentile nations. After Stephen's death, he turned his attention to non-Israelite gentiles.
Paul, however never preached the "Kingdom of Heaven" gospel like Yeshua's disciples did -instead he preached the "Mystery" that was forever hidden in YHWH(Ephesians 3:9, Colossians 1:26).

The "Kingdom of Heaven" Gospel was ONLY preached in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. You have to remember that the "Kingdom of Heaven" was an earthly kingdom that was going to be established in Jerusalem.

1) Jesus said He would give Peter the keys to the kingdom of heaven after he said that He would build His Church on Peter also.
And if you read Matt 18:17-18 you will see that the Church according to Jesus was the highest authority and the same binding and loosing authority is with the Church as was given in Matt 16.

This means his Church is a visible organization. It must have characteristics that clearly identify it .
Jesus promised, "I will build my Church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it" (Matt. 16:18). This means that his Church will never be destroyed and will never fall away from him. His Church will survive until his return.

There was the Marotorian canon but left out Hebrews, James and 3 John, i believe. In the 4th century, all of the Tanakh, Apocrypha(to an extent) and NT were accepted.

Baptism God gives us grace. The sacred writers tell us that it is in baptism that we are saved, buried with Christ, incorporated into his body, washed of our sins, regenerated, cleansed etc. (see Acts 2:38, 22:16; Rom. 6:14; 1 Cor. 6:11, 12:13; Gal. 3:2627; Eph. 5:25-27; Col. 2:1112; Titus 3:5; 1 Pet. 3:1822). They are unanimous in speaking of baptism in efficient terms, as really bringing about a spiritual effect.

Water baptism was a MOSIAC law -they were doing this way before John the baptist came around.
Paul preached that believers would be baptized by the Holy Spirt just like John the baptist foretold(Matthew 3:11, John 3:10).
