Fifth or EoF pins some shit on me, I get banned, come back, own everyone massively in a thread or in the SB, they get pissy because they can't take the ownage, and then I get banned again.

Also, theres one less mod for you to worry about, TC became an updater and quick being a mod because he got tired of all the arguing the mods did and what not.

i just tried to download centurion (good ol days) and it won't work. i click on centurion, then i click on "download this game" and it won't do anything. and i've seen later that it does like that with all the games. should i sign up first or something?

uh, a while back the servers were down forl ike 5 days, and downloads weren't available, and theres a good chance you did it when they were down. HOWEVER, you need DOS Box to run most of the games on Abandonia :D

Kk, I just downloaded it: put it in a dosbox directorie, then made a oldgame directorie with a Elderscrolls Arena folder under it... The computer I am using now is my new laptop with vista. When I tried to type mount c c:\oldgames dosbox thought I typed mount c c:]oldgames (also right shift dose not work). Do you know how to fix this?

just restart your computer when you close dosbox it autorests to nothing and you must remount every time you start dosbox

How well dose dosbox run on vista? I loved using it on my old PC but my new one has vista and I am interested in using to for mobile reasons (is a laptop)...

I run Dosbox on Vista for Daggerfall, the Ultima series, and other RPGs. I haven't had any problems with it.

I used to play M&M I & II tons on the Apple II. If you ever manage to get an Apple emulator up and running (difficult to do) then you should try them out, vastly superior to their DOS counterparts.

This is the future of gaming, now we have Virtual PC and DOSBox, everyone can now play the games they couldn't on their PC's at the time, or just couldn't work out all the DOS commands to get a DOS game working! DOSBox has had over 5 million downloads, so join the crowd - and go back to the 90's in PC gaming! :)

But you folks obviously have the community. I only post on one board anymore, and that's RPGcodex (As username DOS-fanboy), and even then, very rarely.

Even the codex isn't stodgy and grumpy enough for me. For christ's sake, many of them actually like Morrowind. That seems like a dangerous trend...you know, people hating ES4 and going backward and acting like ES3 was soooooo much better. Yeah, a small turd looks better then a giant pile of cow crap, but they both smell the same.

It is mostly about the community though, even if I can't find a game on Abandonia I'll get it somewhere else, but I like Abandonia for the relaxed atmosphere. It's more about hanging out while talking about old school gaming than just strictly waggling on about the subject.

Anyway, I always loved the site layout on abandonia. Though I'll admit, I never bothered much with ESA-hobbled sites. I don't blame them (they are just covering their rears) but my favorites have always been foreign sites. Like France's Abandonware Paradise, XTC, Oldgames, Gamesgone, and some Irish site I used to go to that had ISO's and a lot of otherwise "protected" games. If only I could remember what that was.
