I can personally attest that the power steering recall should not affect your gauges. That seems like another problem that happened to start after the recall was done, but the recall is simply a motor replacement and it has no affect on the IPC. I just do not see this as related.
@blitz811 no really. My sister's VW has electric power steering too and it sucks. No feel. There was a recall for it by GM for the chevy cobalt. If you read any car magazine they will tell you that electric steering is the work of the devil. My old subaru has hydrolic steering.

Well to me it looks like someone has tampered with your cars security system. I have a 2007 Cobalt SS, had to get the same power steering recall done, never had another problem. But today when i went to my car, the security light was on, showing the car had been tampered with overnight. Your car has the exact same light on, the small orange light between the speedo and tach. Maybe the light is being caused by the other problems, but it may be the cause of them
i had the same problem with my pontiac g5 and i went by mistake true a big hole on the street and it got fix by it self ...haven had the problem again haha...stupid cars
