  • AREN'T BETTAS AGRESSIVE?

  • Great tank but poor selection on fish, 1st you have mollies in freshwater but they really need brackish water which is freshwater with a bit of salt but none of your other fish would survive in salty water, 2nd betta are not community fish and you can see in your video he was chasing the molly with the big fin because the molly has a big fin, the betta thinks its is another male betta so will chase and attack it, bettas dont play. 3rd that poor cory needs some friends, group of 6+ minimum.

  • You're not unlucky!

The standard juwel 3 sponge filter system is 101% garbage. I really like their aquariums but to have a successful tank you've got to use an external filter. That 3 sponge thing is just a way for the company to keep you spending money on their products.

I'd cut it out. It's stuck to the glass via a blob of silicone. Slide a long knife through it and cut it out. Only then will you get the full potential out of that joint

  • @DaSonyJihad Totally agree there, i have 3 jewels and i have got fluval external filters in all of them, never had such clear, clean water. The jewel filters are really bad and always mess your tank during maintanance.

  • it cost's +- 550€ for the tank with ferniture and decoration

  • you've got balloon mollies :P

  • How much was this mate? Doesn't say the prices on the juwel website.

  • It was about a grand ($AUS) all-up, although I got it as ex-display stock from my local aquarium. i think they are like $1200 RRP. to be honest though i wouldn't recommend this tank, the filtration system is not that great we have had a lot of problems. i really wish i had gone with a custom tank and got a really good filtration system.

  • he, could u tell me what kind of problems have u got with filtration system, i am just about buy one of this...

  • maybe it's just the way we have done things, but we've always lost fish and have high ammonia, despite cycling properly and doing everything by the book. i don't know, maybe we've just been unlucky or done something wrong, our other smaller tanks have been fine though.

  • you can get really good filters from eheim..and if you dont want to spend a load of money you can go for the classic filters which are still amazing..i run 2 eheim classic 2213's in my tank and together they can handle 500 litre tank...also better when cleaning because you clean one at a different time to the other so there will always be good biological filtration..especially if you have high ammonia i would reccommend !

  • @Zedveron maybe be you should clean the filter sponge?

  • dudei have the same tank and the same problem andi have 2 silver arowana's,point the nozzle of the filter towards the other end of the tank and it should work kool.

  • whats that big thing on the right side of the tank is it driftwood?

    or a rock?

  • yeah it's a big piece of driftwood

  • Looks good, very natural look. I wish I could go back to real plants but Ive got 4 Silver dollars who trashed them all......several times!

Pump will be fine once you find an ideal spot to point your nozzle. I would try to get it towards the other end of the tank or you may get dead spots where the water isnt circulating enough. Just my opinion.

  • yea pump mite be too strong, though nice setup, should add some more plants then itll look even better
