  • I remember watching the show so clearly, even as a kid. Fred Astaire playing Wagner's charmingly dishonest father; poor old, grouchy, disapproving Malachi Throne; and the sheer athleticism and delight Wagner brought to the part. Makes "Hart to Hart" look kinda slow!

  • I loved this show when I was a teenager back when it aired. Thanks for posting this.

  • 65 episodes were produced for the series for ABC-TV.

The series ran for three seasons from January 9, 1968 until March 24, 1970.

The series was produced by Glen A. Larson and Created by Roland Kibbee.

  • Loved this show when I was a kid. Thanks for posting the Pilot. Hulu has the the whole series but just not the pilot.

  • Malachi Thorne or Robert Wagner....why can't it be both:D

  • I've received word that this series will be released on DVD soon, though no word on the exact date. Good. For me, the memorable thing about the show was all the sexy, often miniskirted female guest stars.

  • Stuart Margolin as the chaplain

  • 8:54 Peter and the Wolf theme

  • Yeah, I'll be more than happy to be in their custody. Ah, the 1960s, so swinging and hot!

  • @dwalex97209 to clarify, I'm referring to 6:29 to about 7:35 (excepting the scenes with the sentry guard...played brilliantly by Leslie Nielsen, rest his soul...).

  • even tho I am the child Of the 80s, I hardly even remember the 90s, yet I have thing for the 60s and 70s.

  • "I was in it." LOL

  • I loved this show ! Could watch all the seasons on TCM some years ago and it was really great ! Thanks for uploading it !

  • Good news !!!

You can get 'It Takes a thief ' series on DVD and will it play on an international system.

  • Can this film or any episodes be purchased from anywhere ?

  • @1956owen Not at this time, the MCA/UNIVERSAL idiot suits can't get their act together people have wanted this series on vhs, when it wen't off the air in"71". now were waitin for the dvd's.

  • I just realized that the new show White Collar is very similar to this.

  • this Tv series was so great! thanks for sharing...Robert Wagner so nice and charming!!!

  • he's as gay as a picnic basket.

  • What I remember this series for most is the many hot mini-skirted female guest stars it had in it. Would you have the first episode of the second season, the one with Yvonne Craig and Jocelyn Lane?

  • Robert's a friend of mine from Detroit.

  • Robert is a friend of mine from Detroit.

  • I thought I was going to die laughing with that scene in the prison, especially, "Well, I was sort of in it at the time." Bwahahahahaha! And the bows as he's getting out. Trust Al.

Oh, and the eyeroll was so cute.

  • You know, if they remade this today, ROBERT DOWNEY, Jr. would make a great ALEX MUNDY. :)

  • @intrepidlikes

Absolutely !!! Robert Downey Jr is only actor today with the same humour to capture the cheeky charm Robert Wagner brought to the role of Al Mundy.

    All good fun :-)

  • The original "White Collar"

  • Santa /Berger was a hottie back in the day.

  • @mcwald20 Hi, yes I agree; she looks wonderful here with her long hair ! Much better than in the earlier " The Man From U.N.C.L.E. " 1st season episode " The Double Affair " / cinema movie " The Spy With My Face ". Regards.

  • At 8:24, Bring in the FEM-BOTS!!!

  • The show became so much better than this pilot.

Better music, character development, plots, guest stars and that marvelous comic relief.

  • Ditayangkan di Msia pada thn 70an. Cerita ini menjadi kesukaan buat mendiang Muniamah gemok jiran depan rumah.

  • it is funny how they used the same actors over and over.. I got to meet Robert Wagner last year in hopes to do a new It Takes A thief show..or one of his projects. He was so nice

  • Leslie Nielsen...you are CORRECT!!!

Long before Police Squad. You can see he already had a flair for comedy.

  • central control supervisor is a young Frank Drebbin before Police Squad?!?!?
