Because Paganism is its own, specific religion. Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, etc. do not believe in the specific deities of Paganism.

The whole witch and black cat thing has little to nothing to do with the original celtic-pagan belief. They did not believe in witches and evil black cats. These were christian beliefs about the pagans.

yep just as Salem has little to do with real witches. those were Christians accusing others of being witches. The chance of them actually being witches would be small. There are real witches there today though.
