DK is definitely a good man, and fights the good fight, and I really like him, but reality is reality. If you're anti-war / pro-rights, then Ron Paul is now your man (he's averaging 8%). And better get behind Paul quickly if you want to end this war immediately and restore our rights and economy here at home.
Octobox: Absolutely correct. I just cannot imagine why anyone would vote for Kucinich who is an outright socialist bordering on communist. Ron Paul would tell you that your money is your effort - here on earth. To confiscate that effort is slavery. Don't ever, ever, ever, give someone the right to violate your rights. Give you money to Paul who is for freedom!
I HIGHLY doubt it! Ron Paul is a conservative more so than all the other candidates. Ron is more likely to pick someone from his own mold, a libertarian republican.
Maybe Kucinich could run with Rudy though since Rudy is very liberal.
Kucinich is actually a personal friend of Ron Paul. They are both antiwar. Rudy is at the opposite side of the spectrum when it comes to Kucinich. If RP did pick a running mate, who do you think it would be?
I also just wanted to add that it looks to me like every other candidate, conservative and liberal, is driven to run for president out of personal aspiration more than just a sense of duty to their country. Look at the guy in the white house now. I think he's more concerned with what the history books will say than he is about trying to do what's right.
Gnern: Bush is powerfully loyal to Skull and Bones, to the CFR, to Neoconservatism. Kristol was the father of Neoconservatism and Kristol's primary influence was Trotsky who was an iron clad Marxist!! Neoconservatives have take over Democrats and Republica party except for Ron Paul -- Kucinich is not connected to CFR but his ideas are primarily socialistic. Out of 700 votes He and Ron Paul were 50% at odds. Ron Paul only votes Constitution!!
Well it's nice to see that people are speaking of Kucinich and Paul in the same conversation. Even from up hear in Canada, I can sense that these are the only two U.S. politicians that speak the straight truth. The words that come from their mouths have worth. It's funny how the rest of them think we can't detect B.S. when we hear it. I'm afraid however that because these two most worthy candidates don't play "the game", they'll be left behind once we get to the big decision in '08.
Great suggestion cmanw! sooner or later the field gets whittled down and if the most popular candidate (Ron Paul) has agreeable views, then he would be the one to back.
Ron Paul, I believe, would continue to move in the same direction he has been moving during his entire career.
Check Ron and Dennis' lifetime voting record -that is the most telling of all evidence regarding a candidate's stand on issues. We can't just go by what they are saying today.
Ron Paul? Ron Paul? Why is Ron Paul "so good"? Only because he tells what Democrats and the rest of the world already are stating for decades!!! Why Ron?
Ron Paul is just an amazing speaker. He speaks with courage and stands his ground when challenged. There just isn't as much good Kucinich speeches as there are for Ron Paul. If there is a good Kucinich speech, maybe his supporters could promote it.
Also Ron Paul knows how to foil trap questions. Kucinich messed up on the UFO question.
Correct, I enjoy mr.Paul's discussions, at first I felt sorry for him, so vulnerable(I thought), but, boy, I was wrong...man he nails the hammers down, it is a pity he is a crapublican.Paul is so cool.He dares to take on the lion's den...:)

Ron Paul is a Jeffersonian Republican, back when the part was called the Democratic-Republican Party! Interesting right? Democrats later were pro-slaver!! Lincoln-MLK Jr both Republicans!!
Well, republicans got america out of Vietnam? Cool, but do we need mr. Paul to get the troops out of Iraq?(hopefully this will never happen, we fucked that place up and it is our duty to set things right overthere.
I think Kucinich is great, but since there is NO CHANCE of him beating Hillary or Obama at this point, I'd really like to see him get behind Ron Paul. That would be the smart thing to do if he really wants to end this war. What do you say, Dennis?
a whopping 50,000 people responded in just one day to Rep. Wexler's call for people to sign his on-line petition supporting an immediate start to hearings on Rep. Dennis Kucinich's Cheney Impeachment bill (H Res 799)
Don't downvote someone for just asking a legitimate question. No, he's not a CFR member, not sure about the AIPAC money but one thing perturbed me... When Dennis was asked what he thought of the secret Bilderberg conventions held annually where the media is not allowed to report on, he answered with a joke response. I lost a lot of faith in Dennis for doing that. I respect him for HR333, but he should have waited for HR3835 to pass first.
I am just pissed off about Dennis being put out of the debate and I am not a supporter of his, I really believe that it wasnt about a different standard for Democrats ,they would love to get rid of Ron Paul too.More people are waking up to the media but we need to tell them because the TV will not.
I hope Kucinich gets the Democratic nomination, and Ron Paul the Republican. If both were running against eachother for president then it would be a win-win situation. Both would end American Imperialism. Personally, I favor Kucinich over Paul.
Tomorrow (December 16) is the big day to donate to Ron Paul's campaign as well.
Although they disagree on some issues, Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich get along quite well and both are strong defenders of the constitution. Quite often in congress you will see only two votes of patriotic dissent, and most of the time those two votes will be from Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich.
What is clear is that there is nothing he can do. He could sound off like Kucinich and convince some people that that constitutes "effort," but in reality it's just self-sabotage.
None of the democrats are leaders. They can't even muster support to cut off war funding - the very same reason we voted them in.
Obama voted against the war in futility and KNEW his vote didn't matter. It's a "look good" vote, and now that his party has power to actually halt the war HE DOES NOTHING!
Ron Paul and Kucinich must unite!!! I am donating One hundred dollars to Ron in support of the tea party tonight but I support Denny's efforts. The revolution will not be televised
tattypatty, now is the time to strike back with a candidate so for on the outside of the Democratic party's corruption that the powers that be don't want him in the debates.
Don't own one don't want one, been shot with one. Mexico has some of the strictest gun laws on the planet. See how well that has worked for them. I don't want a black market to be created in my country.
Dennis is everything Ron Paul is minus overturning roe vs wade and giving away all our land and public services over to private corporations.... it's a no brainer
Yea I agree with you deaftone311. Reason why I say Kucinich is slightly better than Ron Paul is because Kucinich pressed impeachment, Ron Paul was against that. Shouldn't people be asking, what candidate tried to hold the Bush Regime accountable? Kucinich also tried to stop HAARP and Chemtrails with HR 2977. Ron Paul is still the 2nd best choice by far. I think Ron Paul supporters would agree Bush needs to be impeached. 2 Best choices thou
Guys it's not a time to argue about this stuff right now. Keep that when the fight is over. Get them elected first and we talk about all this later. This is not time for blaming. It's time to get a trustworthy government elected.
Speaking of impeachment, in case you hadn't seen, Congressman Wexler (a member of the Judiciary Committee) is looking for people to sign his petition supporting impeachment. It's at wexlerwantshearingDOTcom.
He made a video about it, but another video of his talk with Randi Rhodes is much more informative: watch?v=9kkgSCW0ZnM.
Apparently the committee thinks the People don't want hearings. Wexler knows better and needs our support.
He should have waited for HR3835 to hit the Senate first.. it would remove all the self-appointed powers of the President. This way Bush would not be able call a state of emergency and stop HR333 from being finalized. Read HR3835, most dems have signed on it already and it's about to hit the floor. It's crucial to the success of HR333.
Does it matter? The ideal vote would be between Ron Paul and Kucinich ... either way, the American people and the rest of the world will be better off.
Representatives Robert Wexler (D-FL), Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) and Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), all Members of the House Judiciary Committee, Wexler has launched an ambitious online effort to mobilize support for immediate impeachment hearings for Vice President Dick Cheney! Act now! Spread the word for support, as big media won't! Sign the petition, and pass on information!
The reason I like Kucinich over the other "fringe" candidates is that he doesn't just stick to his guns, he leads the charge from the trenches AND shows great leadership. Gravel has great spirit and lets it all hang out, but is a bit too rough around the edges in terms of statesmanship. RP has great policy, but hasn't stuck his neck out enough. Kucinich has both a history of sound policy AND gigantic testicles. He's a great combination, imo. No offense to the other rebel candidates.
Dennis and ron would be the only two that would do excellent as president for the U.S. They wouldnt listen to other people and have them tell them wat to do.
Fila8882002, Ron Paul is an extremist. He is against the minimum wage. He denies the rality of how economics works so his indifferance and denial to the suffering Americans went through during hte Great Depression is understandable. Kucinch is a human being who had to live with his family in a car when he was young. He is salt of the earth and looks out for the little guy.
Kucinich would be awsome, ive met his wife Elizabeth, she is great, and she was speaking about how Dennis could fix up the mideast peace and she really made sense, made it feel like Dennis knows wat he is doing.
The snazziest uncontrolled experiment in the history of the world.
It goes a little something like this. Take the entire planet. Dig impossibly huge holes in it. Each and every day, go to the holes and scrape out about 85 million barrels of oil. Then burn the oil in the open air, occasionally spilling some of it into the ocean. And then ... wait. If the planet disintegrates, maybe do something.
I just heard about this, that they've been using this in Northern California for years and it generates enormous energy. Are there untapped geo-thermals?
I would think that there are. I think we should develop ways to tap whatever we can. I think massive program probably could tap the earths heat to boil water on such a scale that it could provide all the electrical generating needs. As many know, the only reason nuclear is used is to boil water.
I have noticed that geothermal OFTEN goes unmentioned when discussing options. And I think it would be the TVA model "Providing Power in the Public Interest" and NOT a private enterprise. This is the model that Kucinich understand and that Ron Paul evidently does not because of his warped economic philosophy.
I certainly agree with you that existing corporations aren't going to be interested in such low profit means of energy. We do need public energy to at least be competing with private.
your right, wyandotte mi. has their own power and cable systems, and there less expensive than the other energy and utility companies, but they are for wyandotte residents only.
dicky: (1) Lol, a great description!! Part of the uncontrolled nature (that adds to its snazzyness) is that you get to engage in near-sexual flirtations with a despotic petroleum-based regime that has a horrifying human rights records, thereby displaying a willingness to sell your principles down the river for a cheap gallon of gas.
(2) This has the result of making oppressed peoples in that country think that you yourself are an oppressor, and that you're acting in contravention of your own professed ideals. This apparent hypocrisy delegitimizes you in the eyes of extremists. This delegitimization makes it psychologically less troubling for them to target you with insanely heinous crimes. With some practice, this part of the experiment can be replicated many times with many different regimes.
aj1356, Kucinich never said he was anti-second Amendment. Do you knwo what it actually says? "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."
Yes but he was the first person propose a handgun ban right after the Virginia Tech Shooting. and that is what always would keep me from voting for him. besides that has has done good.
that is not a good enough answer. we want guns for the law abiding populace not for the criminals, your argument cancels itself out. the founders deemed it very crucial to put second amendment second, not third or fourth.
It is not that, with Dennis i feel like he is a band wagoner, he jumps on issues of the moment, and sometimes does not think of the out come. that is why i support another candidate, whom in my opinion is more steed fast in his believes.
maybe maybe not, i don't have that much faith in the strength of his campaign any more tho since his money bomb failed dismally, I'm back behind Ron Paul now (sorry Rep Press) I feel if he abolishes the government then someone like Kucinich can come in to build it agains as it should be, right now it's to full of shit and we need someone thats not a fraid to tear it down.
RevolutionaryJam, you should clarify that you are in the UK and not the US and that the horrible domestic policies Ron Paul pushes won't affect you. We Americans are the ones who will suffer if a politician "abolishes the government."
You are pushing an extremist agenda and readers here might think you are an American. Only Americans have the right to back a particular candidate, these politicians are supposed to be OUR representatives.
well i mean if there was someone equivalent here i'd vote for them, but we don't vote in a president, we vote in members of parliament, I generally vote pretty left but I am not a statist, I think it's naieve to believe that a huge beaurocratic state will do better than localised government, I don't think thats extremist.
also it's nonsensical to say that only Americans have the right to back a particular candidate, American politics are world politics, if America sneezes the world catches a cold!
We wouldn't have gone to war if America hadn't, if Americas economy suffers so does ours, etc.... there is absolutely no reason or rhyme to saying id on't have the "right" to back a candidate.
Kucinich is trying to get the criminals impeached and he has a plan for full universal health care, Ron Paul denies the reality of American suffering because he doesn't like social programs.
You guys lost a true honest man in the Democratic party. I feel bad DK dropped out. :(

LOL...
energy sits at the root of all oru problems...but the solution is coming fast and the power boys are going to be caught flat footed

dickyco2, what we need is massive publicly owned geo-thermal projects.
representativepress 4 years ago
I just heard about this, that they've been using this in Northern California for years and it generates enormous energy. Are there untapped geo-thermals?
TheGiantRobot 4 years ago
I would think that there are. I think we should develop ways to tap whatever we can. I think massive program probably could tap the earths heat to boil water on such a scale that it could provide all the electrical generating needs. As many know, the only reason nuclear is used is to boil water.

For example, I am for turning all those areas of Hawaii that have the lava flows into environmentally safe geothermal electrical plants.
representativepress 4 years ago

The government of Iceland is moving Iceland to becoming the first totally carbon neutral nation through the use of Geothermal energy.

dicky: (1) Lol, a great description!! Part of the uncontrolled nature (that adds to its snazzyness) is that you get to engage in near-sexual flirtations with a despotic petroleum-based regime that has a horrifying human rights records, thereby displaying a willingness to sell your principles down the river for a cheap gallon of gas.
nicholas9999 4 years ago
(2) This has the result of making oppressed peoples in that country think that you yourself are an oppressor, and that you're acting in contravention of your own professed ideals. This apparent hypocrisy delegitimizes you in the eyes of extremists. This delegitimization makes it psychologically less troubling for them to target you with insanely heinous crimes. With some practice, this part of the experiment can be replicated many times with many different regimes.
nicholas9999 4 years ago
Actually that white haired guy you are talking about is Fred Thompson, Kucinich is the anti second amendment guys in the democratic party.
aj1356 4 years ago 3
aj1356, Kucinich never said he was anti-second Amendment. Do you knwo what it actually says? "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."
representativepress 4 years ago
Yes but he was the first person propose a handgun ban right after the Virginia Tech Shooting. and that is what always would keep me from voting for him. besides that has has done good.
aj1356 4 years ago
dude it's not a one-policy election, guns, like drugs, will always be available to those who want to get their hands on them
RevolutionaryJam 4 years ago 2
that is not a good enough answer. we want guns for the law abiding populace not for the criminals, your argument cancels itself out. the founders deemed it very crucial to put second amendment second, not third or fourth.
aj1356 4 years ago
righto so right to bear arms is sooooo important that it overshadows all Dennis Kuciniches other fantastic policies. i see.
RevolutionaryJam 4 years ago
It is not that, with Dennis i feel like he is a band wagoner, he jumps on issues of the moment, and sometimes does not think of the out come. that is why i support another candidate, whom in my opinion is more steed fast in his believes.
aj1356 4 years ago
maybe maybe not, i don't have that much faith in the strength of his campaign any more tho since his money bomb failed dismally, I'm back behind Ron Paul now (sorry Rep Press) I feel if he abolishes the government then someone like Kucinich can come in to build it agains as it should be, right now it's to full of shit and we need someone thats not a fraid to tear it down.
RevolutionaryJam 4 years ago
RevolutionaryJam, you should clarify that you are in the UK and not the US and that the horrible domestic policies Ron Paul pushes won't affect you. We Americans are the ones who will suffer if a politician "abolishes the government."
You are pushing an extremist agenda and readers here might think you are an American. Only Americans have the right to back a particular candidate, these politicians are supposed to be OUR representatives.
representativepress 4 years ago
well i mean if there was someone equivalent here i'd vote for them, but we don't vote in a president, we vote in members of parliament, I generally vote pretty left but I am not a statist, I think it's naieve to believe that a huge beaurocratic state will do better than localised government, I don't think thats extremist.
RevolutionaryJam 4 years ago
also it's nonsensical to say that only Americans have the right to back a particular candidate, American politics are world politics, if America sneezes the world catches a cold!
We wouldn't have gone to war if America hadn't, if Americas economy suffers so does ours, etc.... there is absolutely no reason or rhyme to saying id on't have the "right" to back a candidate.
RevolutionaryJam 4 years ago
This comment has received too many negative votes show
kucinich and that white haired bastard are just inteded to take attention off ron paul and to make his shit a little less edgy
GodSaveThePres 4 years ago
Kucinich is trying to get the criminals impeached and he has a plan for full universal health care, Ron Paul denies the reality of American suffering because he doesn't like social programs.
