@moneywound Item; some classes start with the item though. The item can be gotten in 4:1 though, how early will depend on your skill level.

ANYBODY can kill that red knight you referenced in terms of character choice. You have to train him into the staircase tower that you unlock to go back to the start...he is easily baited into falling to his death there for ~2k souls. It's well worth it for early farming, too. You can do that repeatedly instead of running the level and get souls more rapidly (not to mention a ton of overpowering restoratives).

@bgtip Backstabbing with lock-on aim only req's a combo of buttons. Free-Aim will req trial and error and skill.

@A1R5N1P3R I guess I have skill, because everytime I sneak on an enemy, I always get a backstab, and my luck is like, 11 right now, unless bieng level 25 means that you don't need skill. : /

why farm here you can reach higher levels by killing the first two bosses

@ChurchhillWIll This route is great for farming healing herbs, and after the first 2 bosses then what? You going to take on the Armored Spider at soul level 20ish? Because you won't be much higher level than that. At soul level 20 you won't even be able to handle the mobs before the spider. If you actually spent souls on herbs, I would be disappointed in you.

@A1R5N1P3R Don't get me wrong, it's great to progress at low level, but you will hit a wall eventually, where you have to step back a bit and farm souls // reagents for enchants to help progress.

i didnt spend money on herbs but i got lucky with the spider i admit as soon as i entered the level i could summon 2 other playerss and we kill mobs and spiders together

@ChurchhillWIll I have 2 videos for 4-1 farming. The xp there is great, if you invest just another few minutes to clear 4-2 you can get an additional 5k souls just from bowing that scythe guy - when he dies, all the spawned mobs around die as well.
