  • Hey! Is that Lady Gaga?!

    (just kidding)

  • This was actually shown at midnight on New Years Eve. I was 9 years old and was allowed to stay up. We didn't have a video so I recorded it on a tape player!

  • No one before or since. Watch to the end.

  • Wow! We get to backup our idols "The Tubes"on halloween night in Chicago!

    This is gonna be fun!

  • I saw the Tubes in 1976. Unfortunately, I don't remember what they did on stage-but it must have been good....

  • The Tubes es uno de mis grupos favoritos una de las mejores bandas de rock con un show en vivo exelemte si tienes mas videos de the tubes subelos gracias

  • I hate to say this, but I suspect that Fee may have been using an "enhanced" codpiece.

  • Fee is crazy. This is one of the best performances. ET in Mondo. HAHAHA. I sure miss the girls in the more recent shows. :(

  • The Tubes were/are so amazingly musically talented. Steen and Sputnik were fantastic too. You never heard about them in the guitar magazines, though. I'm a pretty good guitarist, but I just can't play that riff at the end of "Bondage". those guys were really great.

  • It's ashame many people don't look past Fee's way out stage antics to appreciate the true musical talent of the whole band.

What do you want from LIVE was one of the best sound engineered albums ever made!

  • utter genius

  • ahahahh tutto ciò è grandioso!

  • these guys are playing Spokane tomorrow night. I cant wait to see them.

  • This video is taken from 1982 or thereabouts. its from a tv show called The Tube in the UK. I remember seeing this when it was broadcast as a live feed at 1700. kids time!!!! I bought all their stuff ever since and had the privelege of meeting them a few years ago in Bristol uk. Fuckin awesome band!!!

  • I have to wonder what his mother thinks.

  • That was funny. That reminds me of when Paul Lynde had Kiss on his Halloween special in the 70's, and Kiss came out looking all wild and Paul says, "Does your mother know what you're doing?"

  • that dude is tall

  • I just saw them a few hours ago in Milwaukee. Very cool show...I screamed so much my voice is shot. :) Definitely see them if you get a chance. No wild stage show like the old days of course...but they're still amazingly tight.

  • Way-out shit! But I like it.

    Wouldn't be allowed these days.

We've allowed ourselves to become slaves to creeping conformity and mediocrity by our rotten lousy mainstream media.

They're trying to kill us with mind-numbing boredom.

  • bollocks. break out kid. free your mind and your ass will follow

we survived the eighties, so why not have fun now.

    f* em.

  • @michaelstmark You haven't seen them lately. Fee is just as wild. WHITE PUNKS ON DOPE>

  • I saw them at Fiddlestix in Flagestaff some time in the 80ties. Great gig!

  • So THAT'S what happened to E.T..........

  • Saw the Tubes with Alice Cooper at Anaheim Stadium, late 70s. They had the Morningside High School (all African American kids)band on stage during WPOD. The audience, filled with white punks on dope (and alchohol), pelted and humiliated those poor kids with food and trash, proving once and for all, the Tubes truly are White "TRASH" Punks on Dope.

  • Fee Waybel has acted too. Ever seen a movie titled 'Ladies and Gentlemen,..The Fabulous Stains ? Well he has a part in it.

  • ( contd. from below ) Like The Tubes probably DID do the first x rated adults only theatrical rock show. Their earlier shows featured nudity, very explicite costuming and pretty risque subject matter ( nothing outright filthy though ) and I rercal that all atenders were required to be over 18. They tamed their show down a bit though, after a while, in an efort to be more mainstream friendly.

  • That was the case when they inaugurated the concert series at Chicago's Uptown Theatre back in '75.

  • To be fair junkinj3 Alice Cooper actualy did this kinde of stage show first, especialy with his Billion $ Babies show, but The Tubes did take it to another level though.

  • This was a Tube special in July 1983 called 'Midsummer nights Tube'- we had just got a video recorder and i left the tape running... so glad i did, they are one of my fave bands ever- great perfromance!

  • I'm just now finding old Tubes.... and I'm completely taken with it! This is some seriously good shite here!

  • spent my cash on every high I could find!

  • Tubes had the first real shows like this.

  • Teenage had a race for the night time!

  • Bob Dylan's new unlisted phone number!

  • Their first album is a hidden masterpiece!!!

Any serious music lover needs this album in their collection!

  • I could run off to Jamaica

If this bondage I could break-a

  • E.T. getting raped?lol.

  • A pasty-faced kid from the suburbs threw up on my shoes during WPOD, once, at a live show.

    1984.

    I kid you not.

  • people can never top SF

  • what do you want from live?...space,punk and rock n roll!!!!!!!

  • One of the best American bands ever...

  • Bill Spooner wrote the great songs from the 70's on Tubes Now and Young and Rich. When they switched record companies and were produced by David Foster there songs were no longer interesting to me and I stopped listening. Spooner was the most original songwriter. Get Young and Rich. Great record!

  • damn i dont know about that i think their 81 album was really poppin

  • ......been tight up so long, there´s no escape...... Geilomat!

  • I'm same height as Fee, why cant my torso look like that?

  • man, did I LOVE this band! Satire, chops and great live preformance, hard to beat that!!

  • god please come back to England !!! me and my mate al have seen them over here HOLY SHIT there just the best !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Easily one of the best live shows ever. It's a shame Vince is dead and Mike's out of the band.

  • Fee is a Rock n Roll God.

  • These guys are great, lets not forget the gals. I will be at their show 10-27-07 in Modesto Ca. 3rd seat..it's their Halloween Freakshow and costume contest..this show will be GREAT..still SOME seats left

  • I remember this from the Tubes on the Tube, they also did Amnesia and Mr Hate. Has anybody got these to upload? Great stuff, takes me back to seing real bands play an sing live.

  • I thank you from the bottom of my heart!

  • two great classics, both shows I saw(`86 & `05) were awesome

  • I love this song - always wish there was more song in this song

  • Which one? White Punks On Dope is heavily cut off in this vid and when playing live they always seem to not play the best two verses of Mondo Bondage and instead just quickly degenerate in the noise ending. Get their first album and revel in the full-length glory of both these tunes and a baby's arm holding an apple.

    -Brother Ron

  • and the third reich swizzle stick my friend !!

  • Loved the Tubes. Qualude reminds me of the poor man version of Ziggy Stardust.

  • Well, Quay Lewd was a "drugged-out British glam-rock star" so the most obvious first choice for an influence was Ziggy/Bowie.

  • Makes me want a bong hit..

  • Thanx so much for posting!

  • Man this is superb
