Dear Matt, I have been watching your videos for a while and you have very much helped me improve my videos from a editing perspective (If you look at some of my newer videos, the older ones have TERRIBLE editing). However, I have a very crappy, Kodak Playsport, and I am planning to upgrade my camera to a Canon 60D and I would very much appreciate your thoughts about me doing so, under the circumstances that I can afford one and the kind of videos I make. Thanks so much for your opinion.
The 24-70 on a 60D just didn't work out for me. I just felt that it may work better on a full sensor ala 5D. It was especially under performing when it came to still photography hooked up to my 60D. How do you like it so far?
@pstchaseki People seem to love or hate the 24-70mm. Its as heavy as a tank, gets a little soft at wide apertures and high focal lengths, and doesn't have IS. That being said, I still think its the best option when compared to its competitors.
@MattsMacintosh dear matt, i just bought a cheap follow focus, but i've got a sony slt 35, so it focusses by itself, even when filming... but my question is: can u use a follow focus for zooming? because that's a issue...
@caleblolz oh, I just assumed you meant the other noise, when I record with my iPod touch. If I forget to use an external mic, I get a TON of background noise. You can hardly even hear my voice.
So How do you like the 24-70mm 2.8L? I used it and have regretted it ever since. It pretty much that the softest focus of any of the L series lenses. Its not crisp at all. Haha What are your thoughts on it?
@ConflagrationClone wth... White ninjas and Conflagration Clones are sharing accounts? I mean, a ninja isn't supposed to tell sb his password, is he? That's not the way the white ninjas roll...
how did you rig up the gear focuser device thing (I have to watch the video again to see what is called) to attach to the camera? I want to be o movie maker when I grow up, so you have been a real help and encouragement to me.
@meyoumovie for 200$ you are probably not going to get anything good, as cheap cameras mean cheap lenses (bad quality), bad image sensors, and all around bad image quality. You should invest in a full-blown SLR, even at the price of 500-40,000$. Even the kit lenses will have better quality than the 200$ camera...
@meyoumovie Look at something in the Canon PowerShot lineup. Mostly around $179-$499. Maybe the SD1400IS (I own one, its fantastic!) Hoped that helped!
Could you make a video teaching people how to make amazing videos like this with things like your iPhone. I would really like to learn how to do video shots as good as you do. I have a $230 camera with not amazing quality but, its alright and I cannot figure out how to do such amazing shots like this. A how to would mean alot.

I also have to say that this was the first video of yours that I've seen. I'll definitely check out the others! But if you haven't already, you should consider making a video tutorial on how to shoot some decent video using an iPhone and show what tools you use to achieve these great shots! Thanks for inspiring me! lol
@CREESTAFAH Thanks for checking out my video. A lot of people have asked for tips on shoot better video with the iPhone, so I'll probably do a video on it.

@HLM190586 To get a video camera that would even come close to the quality of a DSLR would cost at least $5000 just for the body, and I would still need lenses, rails, follow focus, etc... DSLRs give you near cinema like performance at a fraction of the cost.
I have a question, if you like filming and you have mony to spend, isn't better for you to buy a filming camara insted a foto camara that films and then spend a lot off mony optimizing it to film.?
not tha i don't aprove it. i actually love spending mony on extras to improve equipment..

Hey Matt. I like the new setup. I just ordered a 50mm f1.8 and the $30 shoulder rig that you suggested. I'm also using the Rode Videomic as well. Are you still using that shoulder rig with this current setup? I'm kind of co-evolving on to my gear with you and this looks like a great setup that I could adopt to eventually.
@MattsMacintosh i may be wrong but i think he might be talking about when you hold your iphone vertically and u get the very tall effect when you upload to youtube... not sure just a thought because that has happened to me before. That's a epic set up Matt :D
I'm trying to save up for a dslr at the moment to upgrade from my flip ultra hd.
I would really appreciate your feedback on my channel.
