@eme181 ... hmm... The processor bothers me. I really don't know about it. The *rest* of the specs should run those games. I'd try and borrow one of those games to give it a go before spending money. What games do you run on it now, and how do they run?
Just now, playing Risen, it was 55'c in a 23'c room. I've just uploaded the video, so you should see it once it's finished processing. I've listed the other temperatures on the description, but overall this is a cool running system for what it does.
I found one on ebay and, with VAT, it's more money but only about another £50 without shipping (another £38). So it's more expensive so please check. ;) And if you try to dodge the vat, customs can monitor overseas purchases so be cautious. Best way would probably be to go to the States and pay cash.
I'm pretty sure it would run and be playable, but I don't know what settings as I've not played it. It does run the Crysis demo (best at Medium settings), and that is a very graphically intensive app.
I'm pretty confident this thing can play CoD4 and TF2 I got myself one of these laptops too. I had a really hot DELL but this comp has never gotten hot on me, barely warm but never hotter even when gaming. Expect battery life to be around 2 hours that aint its strong point.
Ahh yes the dell I almost bought... xps 130 or something? Smaller and arguably prettier, but that stupid heat vent blocked by the screen...
Gaming battery life isn't great. This is a mains gaming laptop. On the best battery life mode I got 3 1/4 hours web browsing plus Dinorun. Gets a bit warm but nothing dangerous to the hardware (60 gpu, 52 highest for mb and 42 for hd) ... it was 28 in the room. All centigrade. Thanks for the info. :)
hey man i am thinking of buying this laptop and i just wanted to get a opinion from you on whether its a laptopworth getting... i mean most i would do is play COD4 and TF2 so im unsure if it will handle it easily? also like things like does it get hot easily? or does the battery life die quickly? you might ask me to go look on forums or sumfing but the facts stated on the specs are sometimes not true...
It'll breeze through both applications at native resolution of 1366 x 768. It will probably start to struggle at higher resolutions (i.e. external monitor) though. HOWEVER I can say that HL2 works at 1080p very nicely on my tv (including sound output via hdmi). On a desk it runs warm, but not hot. Highest mb temp was 52 while running on a book on my lap. :p It was also 28'c in my room so fair enough! Hd was 42, gpu was 60-odd.
lol.. it's a pain in the ass... but at least it patches automatically and needs no disks to run games. App stalls as badly as Itunes on the pc though... With a makeover it could be great.
Well I've tried the demo... no video yet though. It runs on max settings, but it struggles. The website notebookcheck had it right when it reckoned this gpu should manage Crysis on medium, since that works pretty well and is more than playable in panel native resolution. Of course the release version might run better?
Do you think that i could play counter strike source and euro truck simulator and gta san andreas?with
gt 120m 1gb

No worries... I'm going to try the crysis demo when I can. Cheers for the comment!
