Who grabs someone in a bear hug like that anyway? If I was trying to restrain anyone and I had them from behind the RNC or 'Sleeper Hold' is the way to go, any possible groin attacks can also be countered by simply turning the body 90 degrees so that either the left or right thigh is facing their back.

Other methods of breaking the RNC are mostly useless, as professional fighters find it hard to break the hold and they have much more muscle mass and tone than most women out there...

Newsflash: You're not going to break anyone's neck unless you've done some serious strength training. The notion of this being women's self-defence, combined with breaking necks, is therefore rather laughable. The best you'd manage is a nerve snap, causing a little dizzyness.

Besides, in just about any country on the globe, this will get you proscecuted for manslaughter should you manage it. It's rather unresponsible of this instructor to opt this as a serious way to respond to an attack.

Next time demonstrate from a REAL bearhug. If you didn't know it was coming, and the guy grabbed you with all his strength, this escape would not be so easy. Add to that, if he suddenly grabbed you and started dragging you, this would not work.

That technique will not break your next. The massage girls in China actually used to do that one me and all it did was release the tension in my neck. There are neck breaking techniques out there but it's not as easy as that to break someones neck.

The point is: She does not instruct martial arts, she imitates what she has seen in movies. Everyone in the know of anatomy and with real hard fighting expierience will tell you: this won't ship one to a coffin but maybe to an orthopedist ;) I had to laugh out loud watching this, that's the most ridiculous piece I've seen for a long time. Most all martial arts instructors teach weapons such as swords. So what is the problem with her teaching a lethal unarmed technique? It is good to know even if you would never use it, like nukes. If you get attacked you can respond with lethal force. Especially if it is multiple attackers or a man vs. a women. Or a full grown person vs. a younger person. You just have to say you were in fear for your life. Don't say you have training. Just say omg i just reacted, i thought he was trying to kill me, and you will be fine as far as the law is concerned. If someone attacks me, and i don't mean if I'm consenting to a fight, attacks me i will assume he is trying to kill me, and kill him first.

There are tons of ways to deal with someone without using lethal force. Spinal column could be snapped, could clap the ears, could spike the kidneys, gouge the eyes, strike/gouge/tear the groin, or crush the nose. As described in the title his is a women's self-defense video. It shows a life or death situation and an example of what can be done. In most cases it is safe to assume that a woman will be attacked from behind because the attacker is a coward going for weaker prey. They will most likely NOT square up for a fight. If some attacker were to threaten the life of a woman she is justfied in defending herself in any form, including taking his life.
