ComatoseCA, who didn't have their have like that (myself included). I miss those early days! This looks like the club NIN played in Phoenix when they did a couple of warm up gigs for the Self Destruct tour. I remember shows were announced the morning of both shows and I barely got a hold of tix for both nights... sold out in minutes! Ah those were the days!
i was the house Dj at the PIPELINE..and was at this show...actually it was filmed from my DJ booth...and i drove the band to Newark train station after the show,Trent wanted to go to NYC...
Definetly fell like the sounds and effects in the earlier years were more focused then now where the guitar fills in a lot. The sound effects are more background in mainly the live performances. No matter what though NIN will always dominate music of it's kind.
all the touring they did for PHM got them a step bigger in the music world. espcially around 1991 and the release of Broken and TDS and Self Destruct Tou 1994 and Woodstock '94 got them huge.
i doubt they were thinking " wow this is history" cause NIN was still they a medium/local band in '89 still a really good band by the way. Hate 1990 Tour got them alot bigger.
I miss the old nin from back in the day. Starting with the fragile it's all been down hill from there. He can't even scream no more has his backups doing all the heavy parts.
Just so fuuuucking amazing. Thanks for this one. Back then when Trent was a real underground badass involved with all those industrial bands of the late 80´s-early 90`s (working with Al Jourgensen & company... being a member of Pigface... touring with bands like Skinny Puppy, PIG, Die Krupps, The Young Gods... remixing KMFDM, being remixed by Foetus, etc, etc, etc..) But then, he discovered money and fame and, since then, keeps making shity music fot the MTV generation. So sad.
An artist who is the real undeground (like you said) in 42 is loser...understand? If Reznor have money it's because he's a great musician...why you have problem with it?
Enough said. It´s obvious you don´t know fucking shit of what I´m talking about... I´m talking about industrial music... Got that??!! Fucking idiot kids. Pardon me but I´m a fucking industrialist of the 80´s who lived and experienced the industrial revolution, the decade when NIN did this. Please research and then talk..... again, FUCKING KIDS.
Indeed. Groups tend to be more powerful/energetic when they're five feet from the fans. It's quite amazing what being that close to the crowd does to you.
I had Pretty Hate Machine on cassette when I was younger...I started listening to them when I was in my teens and after The Downward Spiral...I quit listening to them for some reason...I haven't heard the new stuff yet, but heard the RIAA was in an uproar about the new NIN tracks being leaked...Trent was the one who wanted them to be leaked...guess it's a matter of miscommunication.
no, more like greed. trent's been bashing almost everyone in the record industry cuz theyre ripping off fans and suing people just to make a buck. even someone involved with producing the record said the RIAA was being retarded cuz they attacked something the label signed off on..
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK! I wish my then 10 year old ass was into them and NOT C+C Music Factory at that time...but I repented and mended my ways by age 11-12 :)
stale inscents.....not bad audio for 89 lol
