  • Wait until Hilter has to do stereoscopic 3D!

  • Brilliant, LOL, I believe slumdog millionaire was shot on a 2k camera and cleaned up at the oscars.

  • Muaah ha ha woot!

    awesome

  • One really has to work in the industry to savour this, but if so, boy is that a piece of hysteria! Kudos to the writer, and apologies to the german dialogue highjacking... It is certainly worth it!!!

  • Film is king

  • A King coming close to his dethroning.

  • noooo, just had a couple of shoots with the RED... I will admit, it was pretty cool. HAHAHAAH

  • Genius. Sheer bloody genius.

You've made a room full of hardened televisual button-pushers laugh like kids.

Part two had me crying with joy over the thought of trying to set up a DMC Edit on a 4 rotor Enigma..

Good work sir - we salute you.

  • Love it, love it, love it - we want more!!!

  • whats the orignal movie called???

  • Downfall

  • Oh God Iv been there running a 35mm photosonics but I saved the tail from each roll and the labs had to admit that it was down to them .....Phew.....love it!!

  • Hilarious! :D

  • I have seen the original movie, which is very good.

  • what's the name of the movie?

  • Funny. But the RED still isn't better than the Arri D-21 or any 35mm or Super-35mm camera, for that matter. I've shot S-16mm that looks better than RED's 2K. Not a bad camera though... but not for features, yet.

  • Arri D21 is only 3K... as far as Resolution goes..anyway 35mm is a different story..at 2K 35mm looks identical to RED, Dalsa D20 or D21..they are all great systems..and at 4K its overkill anyway..the standard for Digital Post production around the world is 2K..and 4K is only usually used for some VFX..recently Dark Night was Shot on IMAX65/70mm scanned & Finished at 8K great for imax..but overkill for 35 since you loose alot of that rez when Printing back to 35mm..unless you are Printing to 70mm

  • what movie is this from ?

  • Not funny if one DOES understand German...

  • Funniest thing ever !

  • This is one of the funniest things I have seen on You Tube, ever.

  • Prop man. That's great.

One correction. The Director, or whoever Hitler is supposed to be, would not be having that conversation with EPs. Producers (not EPs, very different) are the ones usually saying what he is saying and he'd be giving to heads of departments or assistant producers.

  • My entire office is weeping openly with tears of joy at this feat of brilliance.

  • for anyone whos had to deal with the pain that film can be they can totally relate to this.

  • Damn hairs in the gate!

  • HI-LARIOUS -- even for us newbies!

  • Relax, it's just the double shot in his latte.

  • Fantastic 8D

One of the best parodies ever. Digital Commies!

  • What can i say?Bloody funny!

  • Awesome!,

I loved the Steven F Spielberg part!

  • That was great! I tip my hat to the creator of this epic piece.

  • Hilarious. And, yes, I love the digital age, but BOY oh, B O Y. do I hate post production speak.

  • Hilarious! I actually watched twice!

  • hehehehe.... so brilliant!

  • That is the funniest thing I have seen in a LONG time!!

  • brilliant..............jack english

  • Brilliant! Damn Reds!

  • This is the best thing i've seen on YouTube for a long time. Good work, I will stay posted for Jonny Big Potatoes.

  • Awesome!

  • "all of you who are not executive producers leave the room" LOL....AWESOME. You Rock...lets be friends!

  • You know, if you pursue this the right way, it could wind up as big as "Chad Vader - Day Shift Manager" available on this same station.

  • Can we loop an english dialogue? Would be great!

  • His-f**king-STERICAL!!! For real fall-out-of-chair LOL!

Can't watch too many times without the blood pressure meds.

  • Totally F***ing brilliant! I haven't laughed so hard in ages. I'd love to see the reaction when the Unity crashes wiping out all his digitised rushes.

  • Ha Ha, Now's there's a thought :)

  • I've watched it several times and I'm still laughing! The bit about Mussolini loading the mag just cracks me up every time.

  • Loading up on beta-blockers in anticipation of episode 2.

    Brilliant stuff, Bridxb!

  • yep, thats my boss.

  • how is it? any ideas on Episode 2? :) my Russian-speaking colleagues are asking when is it going to come out.

  • I am working on Episode 2 now, about a week or so away. It will feature a few more characters, in particular Johnny Big Potatoes.

  • The bit where Hitler takes his glasses off shaking after hearing about the scratch has me laughing every time. All those moments of stress and terror when working with film, waiting for it to come back from the lab came back to me and were massaged with humour.

  • Brilliant. I think I have worked for that guy before. I laughed so hard I cried.

    Ed Colman, Dailies Supervisor

  • WOW

  • I am far from being an expert in movie production but this shit is fucking funny. Cheers to a job well done!

  • Best laugh I've had in days.

    Well done.

  • Wow, someone actually finally posted something FUNNY utilizing someone else's work, instead of the usual UTTER SHITE people seem to think they're so damned creative with. Not bad.

  • This is sheer genius. I like the roto artists with their fancy ipods "taking the piss." and "a scratch you can't reach perhaps?" Keep the faith.

  • WOW, to funny. and all sadly to true!!!

  • LMFAO

    Fucking brilliant!!!!

  • I liked the context... real funny

  • Awesome!!

  • So, when do we get to see episode 2?

  • lol, well, I think I am going to use another film from the same era and bring in a few more industry characters, it'll take a whole but I'll definately do one

  • Our telecine is never fucked!

  • This is great and it is TRUE. I hate post and all the bullshit around it .... and I am a post production supervisor..

  • hahah genius!!! love the 2 weeks in the edit rotoscoping gag, sooo true!

  • BRILLIANT!

  • Brilliant!! And so absolutely apt.

  • Fantastic Stuff...

  • OMFG! Thats brilliant!

Its just like any, ordinary difficult day in any urban video posthouse. Bad lighting and fuck all coffee to go round!

  • man u r a script writer, you have fantastic comedy timing.... ROTFLMAO

  • LOL...red commies!!

  • lmao!!!! Nice!!!

  • Good skills :)

  • As someone who is in the biz, I fell off my chair laughing at this. Utterly brilliant, and so apt. Thanks for the cleverness!

  • Thanks Dave,It's just based on experience lol.

  • Utterly utterly brilliant!

  • ROTFLMAO

    very amusing!

  • I work in post... it's so true... they come to us in the night and make us work our little fingers to the bone...

  • clever, very, very clever.

    well done

  • The clip is from the German film 'Downfall' - which was nominated for best 'foreign language' Oscar a few years back. The actor playing AH Bruno Ganz. Unbelievably, he's Swiss. AH is being told that the Russian army are only hours away from Berlin, and that General Steiner - AH's 'last hope', has surrendered. I don't think I'll ever be able to watch Downfall again without laughing.

  • Spot on, a clip used many times for parody and perfectly suited in this case :)

    An excellent film too

  • I loved this more than anything I've seen on YouTube...

BTW - where is this clip from??

  • The clip is from a TV mini-series from the late 80's named "The Bunker" starring Alec Guiness.

  • nope - from Der Untergang with Bruno Ganz... 2004 btw..

  • Absolutely brilliant!

What was this movie shot with? Film? RED?

  • lol, film but the Reds have got him surrounded :)

  • There are too many favorite lines in this, however... the secretary comforting the other by saying, "it's just the extra shot in his latte," is priceless! Loved it.

  • Best video i've seen for a long time

    keep them comming

  • sooooo funny and soooo true!

  • nice work. so many favourite bits... the ultimate anti "fix it in post" film. this should be mandatory distribution for idiots in agencies and compulsory fodder for film schools. THANK YOU!

  • My grandma shoots digital also.

    Really nice pics too.

Nice to see someone with a sense of humour about the horror of it all... oh the horror.

  • Ingenious!! I usually call 'em.... Digital Nazis.

  • Fucking GOLD!

  • Oh God. This is the funniest thing since Withnail and I!

  • God Dam this was fucking brilliant!!!

    Good Job.

  • i've worked on a show where 2 rolls of negative when MIA...and it went down pretty much like this. OMG.

  • That was awesome.

  • Digital Commies!

    Brilliant.

  • Priceless!

  • LOL! This is wonderful!

  • This is Brilliant. I've been editing since '95 and have had days like this.......

  • O my god this is better than having 2 legs!!!

  • Having worked 14 years in Post Production I can only say;

    WOW

  • This is brilliant! made me practically wet myself!

  • Dear God this is utterly brilliant!

  • Great concept - so jealous i didn't come up with it - then again I can't speak German...

  • No worries man, the translation is nowhere near their dialogue.

  • This is mindblowing !! Bravo, man ! We laughed so hard that we have mouth akes. :))

  • Too kind, Hope Episode 2 can live up to the hype

  • Cannes!

    Love your work.

  • Thanks, Wish I'd made it a few months earlier now :)

  • I just surfed the Point with that guy. He's got a body like McConaughey.

  • Love it!! U need any vfx work just gimme a holla!

  • Thanks,I will. I usually end up painting out cranes and putting in skies here in Dubai.

  • Pure gold! The bit about his grandmother.. and the MacBooks... priceless!

  • Hahahaha...

  • I thought it was funny when it applied to the Super Bowl but THIS...THIS had me guffawing so hard it scared the cats!

  • Thanks Deep, I want to do some spoofs for the Red, it's a great name to play on with this guy.

  • I have never felt so much like Hitler before...its uncanny.

  • lol, glad you liked it. Planning a series of them all with the same clip :)
