  • I don't recommend buying those cars unless you really know what to look for because some can have mechanical problems as well. Alot of unlicensed dealers buy these up because they can turn them over very easily for huge profit with little invested. This also means selling a car they wouldn't own personally because it has other problems but they won't tell the new owner that.

    That gives us real used car dealers bad names.

  • For new models? No it's not. The only way you can by semi-new (2000-ish) modeled Lexus' cheap (ones that actually sell) are at impound auctions for probably $2k-$6k. They can turn a 50% profit depending on the make, model, mileage and current condition.

    Most at impound and police auctions aren't that pretty but if you have connections with somebody in paint/body work then you can get a cheap paint job for a couple hundred. That will lead you to selling vehicles for more than 50% profit.
