That's NOT an Escort RS Turbo - it's an Escort Cosworth. Totally different cars! One is a very much uprated Mk4 Escort (I know as I've owned a concours one), the other is a Sierra chassis and running gear in much better-looking bodywork and huge increase in horsepower. I love my fast Fords, but I don't see in any way how this could even possibly be a fair comparison!
but please note that the bmw is 10 years older than the cossie and its also rear wheel drive in the wet too! the m5 from same era as the cossie (1994) is 340bhp stock and in dry conditions a very quick car also the older m5 shown here too! cossie is an awsome car though also :)
@bmwe34530i The m5 has the extra power but also it cost twice as much. Also the cosworth YB engine is so highly tunable you very rarely see them running 225bhp, the escort cosworth chassis can handle over double its standard power.
