I have this in a radio recording with Ingmar Bergman´s ex-wife Käbi Laretei. Every bit as good as this! Why does not a recording company issue a box with her? One of the best pianist we´ve ever had in Sweden! (she has written books too. About her profession. And about her life and marriage with Bergman.) 87 y o and very fit!

Adoro o CD duplo dela a tocar Chopin (não me lembro do nome) e se não me engano a ultima música do CD 2 é Linda,de fazer chorar as pedras da calçada...não consigo arranjar em Mp3 ,pq não sei o nome e o Disco já foi...Obrigado :)

otzart is too airy-fairy and too arty farty for my liking. Tchaikovsky is without a doubt the best of the classical era composers. His music for Ballet is so stand alone. Nutcracker is amazing purely just too listen too as stand alone entertainment. No dancing.

I need to check out more of the Mozart piano concertos. I only have a couple (mainly the ones Sony Classical put out in their Bernstein Century series of CD's about 10 years ago).

Ah yes, please do! Not many people know what divine music Mozart weaved into his piano concerti.

Might I make a few suggestions? Sinfonia Concertante in A, KV App. 104/ KV 320e (technically more of a violin concerto/symphony, but I highly recommend it regardless), Piano Concerti nos. 4, 17, 18, 20 and 21. Can't think up more at the moment, but those are great, particularly the second and third movements.

Brilliant and sparkling sound on the piano, full, vigorous and robust orchestral sound. Very fine dialogue between the two from the very first passages. Has Pires recorded this concerto with the BPO and Pinnock? I don't know of any available commerical recording, please enlighten me.

Joao Pires is very eccentric but is also a great pianist, especially when playing Mozart.
