Great song, especially knowing that most pirates actually WERE more ethical and fair than their navy counterparts of that time-period. Honest sailors were treated like second-class citizens, so it's no wonder many of them turned to piracy, where everyone's equal and gets a fair share.

I love this movie and this song and if you think about it, it really has depth. Long John is playing the family card. He knows that's all Jim wants: "we'll love you like a son". So manipulative, so creepy! Kevin Bishop really does an outstanding job for a 16 year old!.......oh, and Tim Curry is just plain awesome! :D
