The kid is a prodigy and if he plays this well at age 8 he is only going to sound sweeter as he gets older. no eight year old has any choice in the matter other than the choice to play. I would say the kid plays like a kid and the beauty is that he has great taste in music. A music note has to sound the same no matter who is creating it. Its like a kid thinking 3 and 3 is seven, not bad, kinda close but music is math with soul.There are right anwswer and good answers .I doubt you found a style/sound either, you may just be playing someone you have heard better to your own ear.

I have, because when you find your sound and style, you take some of the major things from your influences, as stevie did with Albert King and Hendrix, and combine them with your own feeling for the music. When people can say, "Oh, that's so and so playing, isn't it".... then you have surely found your own sound and style.... there's no escaping the influential sound you get from your idols though, if that's what your trying to say.
