Matt is clearly a new Freddy Mercury: a genius composer and arranger, a damn singer with so much control on the capability of his voice with so many parallel effects that he can perform at the same time singing and playing. His albums are creative perfections, even his covers of older songs are full of inventive colour and dreamscene. Live performance also showing mastership of his art. I discovered him in 2001, bought every album/DVD, went to every event including St Malo, Nantes, Paris...
It was simply the best night of my life, and they were so warm and great live- so energetic too, the lighting was fantastic. Dom's such a cutie and a crowd speaker. I wish, though, Chris would speak more often. As for Matt, well, it's hard to shut him up lol XD
I love trying to but ... impossible, my voice don't go that fucking high. After it's: "I have no voice ... I can't talk" I wonder how he mabage it ... He's a genius :D
lmao, rob is clearly a genius... even tho they destroy every stage they play, and whenever there's a contest between who will do the best show... muse or (insert name here)... you find yourself wondering why u asked, muse are the best live band around at the minute, and thats backed up with the fact that theyre probably one of the top 5 bands around anyway
This is one of my favorite song to finish with after an intense vocal exercises because falsetto (high pitch singing) improves persistence and consistence that why Matthew Bellamy sounds vocally identical to the CDs (he also play a killar guitar), and I now can hit that Ab7 song in the chorus. P.S. muse rulez!
Ab7 is that really high note song in the chorus. It sounds like he didn't reach it in this video probably because this was one of the last songs of the night and he wore his voice out.
The note he hits is like a note or 2 lower but its hard to tell because he voice is pretty strained, and usually when my voice is sore from screaming or what ever I can't hit the note either. But then again I got hearing like dog so.

@ApotheosiZ There is NO Ab7 in this song, and that note is beyond most sopranos. The highest he hits in here is an Ab5, and he hits it when he goes sharp on the bridge falsetto. It's a G5 in the studio recording.
Amazingly quiet crowd! This is no funeral, hit is Muse doing Micro Cuts! Start doing some wild dancing or get the fuck out of the place and give me your ticket!
Actually your English is almost perfect and more correct than many English people who type comments... I just wanted to let you know that. (replace "this notes" with "these notes", *these* being the plural word, and your Englidh is in fact perfect.) :)
The high Ab7 isn't too hard if you guys practice a lot, but singing like Matt Bellamy is practically impossible to emulate because of his Godly vibrato control and the pure amount of emotion in every one of his words.
not the best ive heard but still amazing:) he needs to use a different pickup thou, dont like the guitar sound...cant wait to see em on 17th june 180 days:D
Wow, that's just simply amazing. When I heard the track the first time, I thought for sure h Matt Bellamy'd never hit that crazy high note live, but he once again has proven how great he is
he really could, probably. it seems to take a lot out of him when he reaches those ungodly high notes, much like it does us for even regular notes. I have the same vocal range as Matt, but my voice is blown out after about the 6th-7th song i sing. to be doing a gig every day on a tour and be as consistent as Matt is, that's just insane.
he really couldn't hes not an operatic singer, listen to and opera singer of similar range, and then ocmpare them to him, it would be like havin an opera singer, i.e pavarotti, in muse, it would be awful, he should WRITE an opera :)!

This is a great performance (well what do you expect, it's Muse circa Origin of Symmetry, everything was godlike at that point)
But yes, Montreux 2002 and the Hullabaloo version are the 2 best ones out there :)
