Yes, he often plays the Greiner - violin. He said at the concert today that you have to wait 4-5 years before you get your ordered Greiner instrument.And he said that an old instrument isn´t necessarily better than a new one.
I watched him live last year in Singapore, he played on a brown Strad ( which you see him playing on this violin in the Paganini Cadenza and God Save the King in youtube ).
But anyway, in my opinion the most important thing is to play by heart, and only by doing this, one can really make their instrument sing, doesn't matter if the instrument is a famous one.

That violin doesn't look like a genuine Guarneri at all, and this concert was held in China, so I guess this would be his own violin by a German maker Greiner, cheers!
