Tamara Rojo is perfect!!!! She has the perfect technique, but also her movements are so fluid and elegant, and her face... her expression... she mades that ballet looks soo easy...
@egomi24 you must not really have seen balanchine pieces as a blanchine dancer we r taught to not get so caught up in our emotions that it robs the piece in its entirely not to have dead faces you ass
balanchine is was and always be the greatest choreographer to ever live . next to marius petipa the two will forever be the kings
and mr. b holds that title because he trained dancers with the whole package including emotion the right amount at least. we need to remeber what dance is mr.b is one
you guys need to get out of the face and relying on that to explain the piece
it seems that a couple might have danced it in their face better
but look at it this way
look at the steps and the transitions into each movement and how they r being presented to really grasp the piece thats exactly what my idol george balanchine did in his ballets and thats how dance should be viewed not for specifics like port de bras or face or legs but every element
@sylvieguillemfanx10 Unfortunately this isn't a Balanchine ballet where one can have a dead face, for example Agon. You can't compare apples and oranges, although at the end they are fruit. The music is so beautiful, so romantic.... Whats the point of dancing this if one looks dead?
I have watched many times Lucia & Cyril's version of this and must say that although I love and adore Tamara, I prefer Lucia and Cyril much more. Tamara's port de bras has always been her achilles heel, and it is especially apparent here that it lacks something. I also struggled to notice the emotional connection between the two. Also, not sure why they decided to use such a slow version of the song. I'm still a huge Tamara fan - just not in this particular piece.
I think the arm movts. of Lacarra are SLIGHTLY better (although Rojo's are fabulous) but for the rest, I prefer Rojo - but she is my favouyrite ballerina. As for Chang, he was superb - in my opinion he outshone Pierre.
