Can this motion platform be used with any flight-sim game or does it have to be a special game? I wanted to make a version similar to yours to work with an online version called Aces High (the website is hitechcreations. com)
@gertjeeeh : Glad you enjoyed it. This weekend was prove of concept: The rig run continueously for 2 days without problems.
WINXP, FS9 + Motion driver + all 5 screens run on ATLON 3GHz / 2GB memory with 1x GFORCE7800GTX PCI-E dual head (TH2GO 3x1200x1024 on 3 17" LCD's + 1x1024x768 15" LCD for panel) and one extra PCI GFORCE8400GS for the other 15" panel LCD.
The other PC is a simple P1-200MHz running WIN98 and DOS box for the GWbasic montion modifier program.
Hi Roland Thanks for posting the sketches great visualisation aid .. said it before and will say it again " man i love your work " and big big thanks for sharing so much great info .. Excellent and detailed as always , Good luck at the FSweekend show , one of these years i'd like to attend myself . by the way forgot to ask -- do you have any other motor options other than the ametek units ?
Very nice indeed. I especially loved how the hole sim jerked forward when the engine came alive. Exact reaction I get every time I start up my Cessna in real life!
the interface to flightsim is via BFF driver, which supports FS9, FSX, X-plane, Condor, and some others. But ACES High is not in the list.
It might be possible by using X-sim interface.

Very creative concept and above all; it totally works.
I've expierienced being in the motion cockpit and it makes it very realistic.
I have one question I forgot to ask this afternoon: What are the specification of you two computers?

@wannamakeone : Thanks!
On the motors: That's always one of the difficulties. But there should be other possibilities, even geared motors should be possible.
Key specs: not too low Rdc, low RPM, high stall torque.
12 ~ 24V types often have low Rdc, and draw much more current: tricky for the MOSFET driver.

Hello Rolandvanroy.
My name is Michael, I'm from Russia. I am also very interested in the theme of creating simulations.
I am very impressed with the design of your simulator, in the above privacy design actuators.
Use rubber bands to compensate for the lack of engine power, it's a great idea!

Great Video! Wish I could be there to see it in person!
