After listening to both videos it seems like a man has nothing to gain from this type of relationship. I don't think the benefits of multiple partners outweigh the detriments.

He is fully obligated towards all of the women, emotionally, intellectually, and financially. He has to deal with twice the stress of a normal relationship. It takes a great deal of integrity, compromise and communication for a monogamous relationship. It would take literally twice as much for more than one woman.

Well the man gets more nookie, lol. He gets more people making his plate for him. He gets to come home to a clean house ALL the time. But I don't have a hard time convincing the dudes about polygyny, lol. It's us women who feel we're gonna lose something rather than gain in the relationship.

If a single man has the kind of wealth which can support more than one wife and any children therein, he is likely already being pursued by plenty of women. I don't think sex is an issue. He can also afford a maid.

I don't see what would motivate a man to be responsible for the physical and emotional well being of two women. If my understanding is correct, it's the responsibility of the husband, not the co-wife) to resolve any issues.

More sex doesn't seem worth that kind of hassle.

@Genryuuzai it's actually scientifically proven that men in polygyny, despite the drawbacks, do live longer and are healthy later into life than men in monogamy. You know how we joke that men need to be babied? well it's true. when we are sick, everybody suffers in our families. poly families have division of labor on every level. not only do you have more people to help care for the family's health but there are more shoulders to cry on that understand.

I actually know quite a few men who have taken on another man's children. In this day and age we have many abandoned women, whose "baby-daddies" either do not want the responsibility of a child or do not want to deal with the woman, specifically. As it is said, one man's trash is another man's treasure. :-)
