Governor Quinn has no backbone, courage, conviction or inclination to clean up political corruption in Illinois; he only serves the interest of the well connected, as opposed to the deserving. We need to get rid of the Quinns, Rods, Mels, and Burriss of Illinois politics not vote them back in office. Good choice Tammy not to run with Quinn.
We honor all vets and there should be more done for the returning vets that are wounded especially. But, she is not at war and it is her politics that are important to us now. She supports the obama policies which are not only bad for the military, duty, reserve, or retired but also for the rest of America. Sorry, a vet is not an automatic entitlement to be the people's representative.
Please call your senators and representatives to stop the delay in her nomination to be an assistant secretary at the Department of Veterans Affairs....THIS IS A TRUE HERO!
I hope President Obama calls her to serve on his administration. She is a beacon of inspiration and she would be perfect to serve at a national level.
Oh, yeah -- Ducky the Carpetbagger. Believe me, Democrats (and former Democrats) of the Illinois 6th remember this lady. Sorry if I still sound bitter after two and a half years, but this was the gal who came in late and backstabbed Christine Cegelis' campaign by sucking away all the high dollar contributors. Nobody wanted to buck that scummy Rahm Emanuel, so nobody would put their neck out for Christine. Oh, well.
What kind of support did Ducky get? The election told all.
Nope. Not a troll, pal, a dedicated Cegelis supporter during both her campaigns. Late entry on the first one, but there from beginning to end on the second one.
Tammy Duckworth was a moderate Republican in Democrat's wool. Emanuel thought that was what was needed to win IL-06, but he was wrong, wrong, wrong. He shoulda gotten out and talked to regular voters, just as I did.
The DCCC & Co. spent over $800K to Cegelis' $140K during the primary, and that's how Ducky won. But not the general. Eh?
You would be referring to Ducky's robocalling? Because I know for a fact that Christine didn't use it. I helped set up the "phone bank" (four lines) that Cegelis volunteers used to make calls.
The problem for Duckworth was that all the volunteers were already working for the Cegelis campaign before Tammy got into the race. Despite having money coming out her ears she had no workers.
Oh, and all the Cegelis volunteers simply vanished after the primary. Why work for a party that hoses you?
Okay, what are you on about? There was no Cegelis robo-calling, as I said, because I ran the lines for the "phone bank," such as it was. There was calling on those lines, calling from people's cell phones at the campaign center, and calling from home. What robo-calling are you talking about?
The article quotes the Herald as reporting that "the NRCC spent $9,000 on robocalls to help Peter Roskam in a single week. This translates into approximately 180,000 calls." There are only a quarter million or so inhabitants of IL-06. I don't recall getting one of these calls, but I tend to forget trash like that anyway.
To answer your original question, I consider robocalling pretty scummy no matter who is doing it. My response is to hang up on the calling machine.
Wonderful interview. Thank you doesn't cover the debt that this country owes people like Tammy Duckworth. We need a new GI Bill, not just a rewrite of the old one combined with rewrites of bills like S. 22 and HR 2702 that already increased benefits to veterans. We need a bill that actually helps veterans more.
oh duh i thought this was kevin duckworths wife. lol

Check the wikipedia article titled "Illinois' 6th congressional district election, 2006" and tell me what you think.
