I saw for the first time LouLou singing with the Thievery Corp. on Last Call with Cardon Daly last night. OMG! she just blew mind! What an amazing song and LouLou just knocked me right out of my bed. Best new artist of 2011. Went on You Tube on my iPod and there was her video.

Best female singer since Sarah M. Oh, by the way she sings with Thievery Corp. too.

About 8 yrs ago, LouLou worked at a coffee shop in my city, she said she was in a band called Thievery Corp,and that she played organ and sang in Farsi. i said i had never heard of them. ;-) I gave her the book Stranger in a Strange Land, and she gave me a magazine called What is Enlightenment. She said she was Persian, i said Persian woman were the most beautiful in the world.

I saw this band for the first time a few weeks ago at the Fox Theater in Oakland... I was actually pretty late when I got there, and right as I stepped inside the venue, I heard this song beginning. It beckoned me to the stage immediately. I'm one of the two current "dislikes". I've always known Thievery Corp to have their own distinct, soothing sound to which I can just let go. But I also have always enjoyed their sense of adventurousness in incorporating new influences into their music. While this song is soothing like all their others, it's just not new and lacks that sense of adventure that I love about TC. Hence, i can't "like" it... then again i don't really "dislike" it either...
