I can relate to this song on a personal level, as I think many of us do. I love her work, and I liked your slide show, but my question would be why are almost all the families portrayed white? I found that almost as distressing as the reality of "domestic violence". Too much has been done already to silence women - silencing women of colour who have also experienced this (as have women and families of all cultures) is saddening to me and puts up more barriers than it does take away.
You are absolutely right. In my search for domestic violence pictures, these were the ones I found. Domestic violence effects everyone, it isn't color blind. Suprisingly, I've met alot of white people who believe domestic violence is gender specific solely among other races and cultures. The denial that it could be in their own neighborhood is a huge epidemic. This further puts up a burden on minorities who are trying to survive while fighting against stigma. I'm glad you brought this up. Thanks
