Hey man, I just picked up a Jackson Stars SL/TN01. These are some sweet pieces! I'm sure Jackson USA or Fender decided to discontinue J. Stars because they were afraid of the Japanese craftsmanship again beating the U.S. at their own game!
I only have two questions, how the hell are you supposed to do that effect where, you strum all the strings and make only one note ring? That little noise right before the actual note sounds great and is impossible for me to figure out ATM, can you help me?
Second, are you really that fucking clean or do you turn your gain really low? I believe both XD I leave my gain rather low, but it seems higher than yours in this video...

And secondly, I have my gain about 5-7 most of the time, I do like to try and make myself become cleaner by doing this, especially with the Necrphagist stuff I recorded recently, it helps with the clean tone too and really helps make the notes sound good. Hope this helps.

@apalmalarrain Hmm, that's pretty simple. I'm fretting a note on the G string and I'm strumming E A D G as you say but palm muting with my right hand and also muting with my left by using the underside of my index finger to kill any sound. I do it alot and it's a great technique to practice.

What are your tone settings? I have an RR24w/ j50bc+je-1000 and gp-1000 and sp+1000. I cannot get the right tone...it doesn't sound anything close to Alexi or Roopes set up.

By the way, I think I spotted a video somewhere explaining what someone did on the GP-1000 thingy to get close to Alexi's tone.

Well, if I remember correctly, Alexi set everything to max and pulled (where applicable) except for Bass, which is around 9 o'clock. Mid Shift was on 3, and he used the second output (More bass. Maybe the first output gave too little and the second too much at max). Also I believe he used Marshall JCM800 cabinets with Celestion speakers, at least Roope does.
did jackson lower the quality on their pickups or something? cuz the j50bc sounds awesome compare to the crap ones that come on lower end jackson guitars.

There was a guy selling 2 on ebay about 3months ago. They only sold for like $40. I ended up falling asleep before it the bid ended. I was so pissed off.

What i do, i take one output for my computer, and one for my amp.. In this case i take the Headphones for recording.. And the output for my amp.. I dunno why i doesn't take the output to my pc. But do you think that's best or is it good enough? By the way.. my pedal is an V-amp 2 Behringer... I know, it sucks.. maybe.. but its good enough though..
yeah i've seen that already, but i'm not sure whether i want an RR24M or an RR24 with ebony fretboard. we'll see, it will take some time till i have the money anyways.
pickup with the JE-1000 gainboost. Then when he went to ESP he used the EMG HZ pickups with the MM-04 gainboost, but now he has his own signature pickup. He also used the seymour duncan Blackouts for a short while.

I absolutely adore his playing! I'm kinda getting there with the impro stuff he does as in, I know the patterns, but I've got years to go before I can touch anything else of his in terms of playing it!
I wish I could have, but I was struggling with bank stuff because of my ZX6R, so it all had to go. I would never sell the RR though, regardless of anything.

You should split the jack outbound to 2 wire 1/4 to record and hear yourself at the same time.
But damn, the quality is pretty awesome! I'm also suprised how it got rendered good.

Great tone !
You should have played some rythm parts with palm mute and heavy stuff so that the sound test would have been complete.
Otherwise, nice playing as usual and it's great you finally have Alexi's old setup.

I wish I could have, but I was struggling with bank stuff because of my ZX6R, so it all had to go. I would never sell the RR though, regardless of anything.

All different stuff. There are parts in there were I just play the same shape on all the strings with no scale. It was just playing random crap!
