ALL three stanzas of Das Lied der Deutschland were created well before the Nazis existed. The Nazis only took the first stanza for themselves but that should not erase all the character and spirit that this song carries within itself. The first stanza speaks of national pride and brotherhood, and the perversion of this noble sentiment by the Nazis shouldn't poison this beautiful work. Given that the first stanza is geographically outdated it would be logical to adopt an alternate stanza
Very nice, this should be the German anthem beside any political question and the shameful propaganda and prejudice we hear every day. I really hope Germans will raise again their heads against the brainwashing the were subjected after the War.
I personally think the first stanza is not suitable to be the german anthem (because the geographical boundaries are not relevant anymore), the third one is more appropriate. However, the singing of all three stanzas should not be banned or suppressed. Anyway, those nazi things are soooooo outdated already.

Every annexation post 1914 was against any international laws, so the land might de facto belong to Poland, Czechia, and Russia nowadays but de jure it still belongs to Germany.

Die deutsche Nationalhymne ist viel älter als das dritte Reich. Ursprünglich wurde sie geschrieben um das deutsche Vaterland zu einen, welches zu jener Zeit aus vielen kleineren Staten bestand und zwei großen Königreichen ( Preußen und Österreich)...
Deutschland über alles bedeutet nichts anderes, als das die höchste Priorität für alle Deutschen sein sollte, das Land zu vereinen.
Das läuft im italienischen Fernsehn und was macht man in der Bundesrepublik? Ernennt das Deutschlandlied indirekt zur Nazihymne und singt nur noch die 3. Strophe, um den Deutschen einen unfreien Pseudostaat vorzugaukeln.

I am not sure what you mean about the original. I think the original was written by Hayden to honor Emperor Franz Joseph. I think the tune is lovely and I think ueber alles refers to holding country above everything else in my heart. I also think the decision to change the national anthem to Einikeit und Freiheit was made because of the reminder of the Nazi and their imperialism.

The first and second verses are allowed to sing even in public ! They are still a part of "Das Deutschlandlied". The official anthem is just the third verse ! We just do not sing the first and second.

Un paio di guerre mondiali scatenate per portare i propri confini "dalla Mosa (Francia) al Memel (Lituania) e dall'Adige al Belt (Danimarca) sembrano non contare. Ripeto, una schifosa porcheria.

Die deutsche Nationalhymne ist viel älter als das dritte Reich. Ursprünglich wurde sie geschrieben um das deutsche Vaterland zu einen, welches zu jener Zeit aus vielen kleineren Staten bestand und zwei großen Königreichen ( Preußen und Österreich)...
Deutschland über alles bedeutet nichts anderes, als das die höchste Priorität für alle Deutschen sein sollte, das Land zu vereinen.

Das Deutschlandlied in allen 3 Strophen ist hier nicht verboten.
Es wird nur die erste, und die zweite nicht gesungen, wiel die grenzmarkierungen die dort vorgegeben werden (Etsch und Belt, Maas und memel) nicht mehr mit dne heutigen übereinstimmen ;)
Das hat nichts mit Nazihymne zu tun. Das sagen nur die ungebildeten Idioten.
Rein der Symbolik wegen, gefällt mir persönlich die dritte am Besten.

I am not sure what you mean about the original. I think the original was written by Hayden to honor Emperor Franz Joseph. I think the tune is lovely and I think ueber alles refers to holding country above everything else in my heart. I also think the decision to change the national anthem to Einikeit und Freiheit was made because of the reminder of the Nazi and their imperialism.

Strophe als den offiziellen Teil der BRD Hymne geeinigt, aber das die Hymne ist gültig als ganzes. After the connection of Middle Germany to Western Germany in 1990 an folowing agreement between the President and the Chancelor decleared to maintain the 3rd verse as hymn in cause of the complete reunion with eastern germany is still standing out...

@OrlandoAntonio1000 Wenn wir Griechenland bezahlen können, können wir uns auch Ostdeutschland leisten. Wir könnten natürlich von Hellas für unser Geld auch Kreta fordern - aber das Merkel käme mit Sicherheit nie auf den Gedanken.

@OrlandoAntonio1000 Nein, gesunder Menschenverstand. Bevor ich sinnlos Geld nach Athen fließen lasse, baue ich lieber unsere ehemaligen Ostgebiete wieder auf. Und wenn Sie auf die Inseln anspielen: so etwas nennt sich Geben und Nehmen. Wir geben, wir nehmen. So funktioniert das, auch wenn unsere Politiker im Geben groß, im Nehmen aber immer recht zimperlich sind.

Questa e' una porcheria. Le prime due strofe dell'inno non si cantano mai in Germania, per ottimi motivi. Un paio di guerre mondiali scatenate per portare i propri confini "dalla Mosa (Francia) al Memel (Lituania) e dall'Adige al Belt (Danimarca) sembrano non contare. Ripeto, una schifosa porcheria.
