Ah, mate... What a great sound. What is this program you're using? Is it the SNES soundbank in software form? Or is it playing back the MIDI and looking at the SNES soundbank separately...?
The samples were ripped from Chrono Trigger on SNES (and even some ripped from the unreleased pre-release of CT) and used in Impulse Tracker. It's not MIDI based, though but it's like MIDI in that the notes play back samples. I merely matched the notes by ear (which is very hard to do, accurately anyway)
I am a new subscriber to your channel here and I just want to say I am quite impressed with the work you've done. I am a loyal fan of chrono trigger. I'd like to know more about this software you use to conduct your remakes, also I didn't get what "IT" means unless you mean information technology?
When I first heard these omake songs, I presumed they were unused SNES tunes that were composed at the same time as the rest of the SNES OST, and thusly just used on the PSX instead. This is an interesting idea. Would be even cooler to use XMSNES and make SPCs, with echo and all. That said, I don't mind how the PSX ones sound, and am still itching for a PSF set.
Also, nice to see a name I recognise on youtube. It seems we've both endeavoured in a similar task of remaking these songs.
See the way they were designed, they weren't designed within the SPC700's limitations. The songs used more than 8 channels. I don't think it would work (without some serious editing)
I'll try throwing some SPC's together with XMSNES. Don't know how well it'll turn out, though.
Anyway your videos are what inspired me to pop this video up. These songs were made back in 2000. I have little doubt I could improve much upon them now, but there are some errors I hear in mine I could probably fix. :)
Nah, I haven't had time to compile the information I needed yet.
Nathan needs to give me a lot of info. I also have to read through a lot of comments on the Chrono Resurrection Playthrough video to find misconceptions about the CR project.
You know, I think that it definately sounds much better with the snes sounds instead of the PSX set. I'm amazing at how well you can emulate it as well. If I were square, I'd hit you up for these to put in the DS release. ^_^

Sorry, I'm a bit confused, but it sounds great :)

And this is why I love your work, man. Thanks for the upload! Now to see if I can hunt down the .ITs...

Thanks! .IT's are available via my Remake archive. Find my website, and type "/Remakes" after the URL.
