Totally Feel you on the "listening" to children this is a general practice that should b implemented by everyone.
p.s. you are so adorable... I feel like you've really taken your experiences from childhood, and have made an effort to educate others on the cons of the childhood experience... I.e. Not being paid attention to, I try to do that every day with every child I interact with
