@ndlaxball2: Depends on your grip... if it is weak then it helps a lot. As with any support equipment there is higher risk of injury though. Also you can focus on pulling if you do not have to concentrate on gripping the bar as hard as you can - that also gives help.
make sure you're not doing reverse curls. make sure the bar is up against your body all the way up untill to flip it, then make sure you stand all the way up with the bar after u lift it
Nice power, you handled that like it was easy! Can you do that without straps? My grip always fails when I try 90+kg for reps, but my grip strength is prolly pathetic. Good Job.

anybody can do that. Once you catch it you have to go all the way down. if u dont u dont even get anything out of it. Catch then squat it. you have to get low
Anybody can do this kind of weight with straps on. Good job though. And the main point of a power clean is not to land in a squat position bdog. That is a full clean buddy. Anyways ditch the straps and get some grip strength. It will only take a month or two.
Ihan jees.
jump son and get under the bar the main point of the power clean is to explode and land in a somewhat squat position which u weren't able to accomplish... get her done later
Hey, great lifts. Careful using wraps though. Even though you can handle that weight easiliy, you don't want to be attached to the weight just in case. Have you tried a hook grip? It'll make your catch easier and cover position better. As you move to heavier weight it'll be a big help. The cover position is going to help you too, right now your hands are in front of the bar, whereas your chest should be over the bar. Try getting a side, front, and 45 degree view too so you can evaluate each part
Not bad, good weight, but a little early arm bend. Flex your triceps from the start until you finish your pull. Then pull yourself quickly under the bar.
You would be able to do way more if you droped before you explode. You're doing more of a reverse curl. You're just gonna hurt yourself like that.

I think catching it in mid-air is a hang-clean and going down with the bar is a squat clean i think.

Yeah... except that in that gym, dumping is not an option. :/
Agreed, better title would be Raw Hang Clean instead of just hang clean...
timse82 3 years ago
Nevermind the "somewhat squat position": it was from the hang, it was a clean, and it was pretty good.
2moreb33rs 3 years ago 2
Yeah I train in a gym with no dumping/ no olympic weights and doing the squat cleans in higher weights is not an option :P good lifts :)

You dont need to do that both techniques work well but thats not what he's doing here.
jmm121884 2 years ago
Nice lifting - but as you know, it's a power version, I was expecting you to squat a bit...

Okay, will try the 'flex triceps' tip.
Thanks! I'll make a new video again when cycle ends in 4-5 weeks; hopefully cleans look better then.
I don't have a coach and I have hang cleaned for only ~3 months so my technique definately has flaws.

I'm interested in technique. Please point out all mistakes I do. :)
My local gym does not allow slamming the weights so... failure is illegal I guess ^^'
