  • This is one fine car, i have an 1.6 diesel not turbo but just plain diesel, it was made in 1986 and still runs great.Engine was never serviced ( overhauled) i am just changing filters and other little things but the engine itself is 100% original GERMAN machine.Millage is currently 680.000 kilometers (yea i know i was traveling a lot, from Bosnia to Hungary and Bulgaria, Croatia, even Germany) it consumes about 7.5L/100km due to being old but in its younger days it was hapy with just 5.5 to 6l.

  • @TITANbn This engine was overhauled two years ago, but not in bad case, just for renew.

This week I have bought 3 tubes, the full set of XADO - Gel revitalizant for diesel engines. It cost me 67$. Yes, it is pretty much, but believe me - it is worth it! Engine power is much higher, fuel consumption lower, starts better in cold conditions!

If you can afford it, I would REALLY recommend you to buy set of XADO gel for diesel engines (3 tubes; 21$ each), because it is incredibly good!

  • For a 100$ more i can get an golf 3 diesel engine in good condition here in Bosnia which i think will decrease fuel consumption and give a couple horse powers duo to engine being newer series ;) I checked and it can be fitted in my Audi 80. I'm planing on doing that in a near future, i would like to see this car with a little more than its factory 48 horse powers. Thanks for advice, will consider it too.

  • If you want this car to start well in winter conditions just check its "piston chamber heaters" (sorry i don't know how are they called in English language, in Bosnia we call them like that). Those are four little parts, 1 for every piston chamber that heats them before starting the engine, also try adding a gasoline to you're diesel fuel, 1L per 40L and just a little of motor oil(because gasoline is a little dry- not greasy) of diesel it will help fuel not to get frozen and will help.

  • parduodama?

  • Have you heard about Volkswagen Sirocco?

  • @Lineage231 YES

  • Well, I do talk in Lithuanian, but less than in English. About 70 % English and 30 Lithuanian :)

  • Good Luck! By the way, I am half Lithuanian :)

  • @Lineage231 Wow, interesting! In Lithuanian: Oho, įdomu!

  • Oh and what is great too, Not a single rust or bruises on that car :) Very great job keeping the car in shape :) I would give you maximum applause for that :)

  • @Lineage231 Thanks, i would think that i be able to save it for another 10 years.

  • TD engines work like tractors when they reach a serious age :) Well cannot upset the car for that :)

I had Ford Escort 1995 TD. It sounds like my first car. A good refresh in memory. :) Well, I sold it then because it started to rust very much and the engine started to go out very often. Everything was great with that engine, antifreeze was okay, car oil was okay, but one day it somehow refused to obey. :)

  • @Lineage231 I totally agree with you! The sound is "shitty". My grandfather has got 1983 Audi 80 B2 Typ81 (petrol engine) and it sound like sports car, lol :)
